  • Anyone surprised at the leftist hate?

These now gleeful indoctrinators in our school systems will no longer fret over Charlie Kirk’s mission to deprogram.

After Charlie Kirk's death, teachers and professors nationwide fired or disciplined over social media posts

  • Good I hope they all get axed and put teachers with real American values back into our schools... Enough is enough!

  • Being happy someone died is protected speech under 1A. I thought it was disgusting seeing the left giddily dox people for mean George Floyd posts. Now the right is doing the same thing with mean Charlie Kirk posts. It's a race to the bottom. Welcome to The American Troubles.

  • Not entirely refuting your stance but Kirk wasn't a career criminal, he promoted family values.

Exactly... Floyd was all about Floyd and stabbed a pregnant woman.. Big difference

I'm well aware of the difference between the two, but if we keep trying to make it so that people who disagree with us can't ever find meaningful work again, that's only going to cause more political violence.

  • Also, one od'd and one was assassinated in front of college kids.

You need a totally different example if you got a point.

No one should make fun of anyone's death and if you have such a deprived set of morals then you shouldn't be teaching kids and I wouldn't want you working for/with me either.

Other than that, it's not like they're getting arrested for their speech. I think the push back you see over this kind of talk is the fact we've had enough violence and know first hand the violence the left is creating.

You call this free speech or something else...

Don't know if that's a reasonable fear but the left can find any excuse under the sun to create more political violence. They are masters at being victims and being oppressed in a free country.

If you put a person in a position where they have nothing to lose (e.g. - taking away their livelihood), some of them are going to lash out at the people who put them in that position.

People get fired all the time, this isn't something new right?

Well, actually they put themselves in that position.

I should add, if they are losing their livelihood over their speech then they are probably already politically violent to begin with.

  • Of course the right is hypocritical with their stance on free speech, cancel culture, etc. Nothing new.

Freedom of speech isn't freedom of consequence. If you're out there cheering Kirk's death and it gets you fired from your job, then tough shit.

But when there's a literally website right now tracking anti Kirk sentiment right now, leading to doxxing, it just shows the massive, continued hypocrisy of MAGA

  • I think l’ve figured it out. This is how we got here.  Us chasing our tails over who says the meanest shit.

As long as we give it airtime, the hits will keep on coming.

When did we get so thin skinned? As long as awful people saying awful things captures our hearts and minds, this is what we’re going to get. Directionless bickering.

I get it FY. You’re really focused on showing that left wingers say more awful shit than right wingers. You might even be right.

But as long as this is your focus, or anyone else’s focus, nothing will change.

We used to be almost militant about free speech. I still am. I don’t understand how we’ve gone so far astray. I don’t care if you’re a literal Nazi. I don’t agree with you, but I want to know what l’m dealing with at all times and l want it out in front. This is the benefit of free speech. Everyone is allowed to say all the awful shit, which is way better than not knowing the awful shit.

If we are concerning ourselves with amplifying the awful shit that people say, then all we’re doing is amplifying awful shit.

This is exactly what the people cheering on Kirk's death are saying. Letting riled up mobs mete out justice is going to lead to a bad, bad place.

That wasn't directed at Kirk as some kind of justice for his hateful rhetoric. That was directed at people losing their jobs because they made comments online cheering on Kirk's murder.

You should be able to say what you want as long as it isn't directly putting others on harm (fire in a crowded theater). But if those words cause you to lose your job, tough shit.

This goes equally for the conservative posting homophobic thighs online and losing their job as it does the far leftist celebrating Kirk's death.

I figured you'd be aligned with that take. Thought we were pretty aligned on freedom of speech things.

Oh, and getting canned from your job because you're giving the org a bad look is different to me than mobs online trying to doxx anyone they disagree with. The doxxing part should be illegal. And while I am stating a consequence can exist, I'm not saying i agree with cancel mobs on either side.

you are stinking up the forum. Name one legit actual quote that you say is hateful.

  • oh the worry on the job losses?  the extent of "consequence" to the POS's who cheered Kirks murder should reflect

as an embarrasment to those responsible in the public square - and the party of note (the dems) SHOULD suffer at the ballot box

I think every thinking person here with the exception of the pecker, would agree that there wont be violence caused by attached to any conservative  value based person...

but how about  2020 -21 vax mandates and how the govt. took seriously ANY dissent

and HOW they summarily shitcanned workers

(Its never been addressed - ready to happen again someday)
