The no body cams thing is a little surprising. I thought we learned that lesson, and last l recall most everyone on this sub-forum thought it was a good idea too.
Whether you’re a fan of ICE or not, you want them to be beaming with transparency. It protects both them and the public’s perception of them. If someone fights back or tries to harm an ICE officer, boom, here’s the body cam footage to show the officer’s actions were justified. Or if an ICE officer fucks up, then boom, here’s the footage of that too and they’ll deserve the backlash and hopefully adapt to do better going forward.
Otherwise this turns into a he says/she says situation, and it’s no good for anyone having ambiguity and a drawn out investigation with a bunch of bullshit to sort through.

They want it he said vs she said. Because it's ICE said vs a dead brown person, or someone now labeled a liberal terrorist, etc. And the folks that support ICE, the dumbasses on this board, will believe them no matter what.
Shoot a brown person, say they "weaponized their vehicle" and move on. MAGA won't ask questions. Won't ask for body cams. Won't ask for anything because they're happy with the result.
But Trump's approval is in the toilet. He's failing at the economy, immigration, and foreign policy. Let's just hope we hold on to the midterms and then two more years.

I’m just referring to a past convo we had with similar subject matter with ICE in MN. My recollection was we had a general consensus that body cams were a good idea for ICE agents to wear. I didn’t know we had anyone opposed to it. That’s it man. I’m not giving you a hard time about it, l just didn’t know anyone here thought it was unimportant.
I think it is. They’re a law enforcement agency doing unprecedented things. I think it’s a good idea that transparency be at the forefront.
