He hasn't recorded a sack thus far but he led the team with 6 pressures yesterday.

Yeah, we all want to see him get sacks but his presence definitely opens up things for the other D lineman.

I swear he was all over the place in the playoffs last year. I don't know what it is here, but they're certainly not shy about running to his side. Three total tackles yesterday.

Verse was doing some interesting things in defensive alignments yesterday. They had him line up as a middle linebacker at one point and he crashed the LOS with a head of steam.

We’re getting contributions from guys l didn’t think would contribute that much. Isiah McGuire had a nice game.

Verse hasn't been generating as much purely off the edge. So Coach Rut found some new ways to get him involved - mostly using him to set picks on stunts. It's a selfless job, but one he generated a few pressures on even when he isn't the 'point man' setup to do so.

He isn't prime Myles, but this front is working together collectively MUCH better these past couple weeks. The bulk of our pressures have been from the interior work. There's certainly nothing wrong with that provided we get even average play on the edge.

I think in the first week - they were playing tentatively. New defense - interesting stuff here:

              https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2026/09/browns-new-defensive-scheme-built-on-deception-not-raw-power.html

Browns’ new defensive scheme built on deception, not raw power

"For the last three seasons, the Browns ran Schwartz’s wide-nine pass rush: a traditional four-man front, elite edge talent and pressure generated by lining up and winning individual battles. It worked, largely because of Myles Garrett. Garrett is gone. Alex Wright is gone. And Rutenberg is installing a defensive system built on deception and disguise rather than raw push."
