Dear god i just seen that Devier Posey went 3rd round 5th pick. All who are mad at our reaches, as a texans fan i would be pissed.
I would have been happy if the browns picked up posey. He gets open and has decent hands. He played either two or three games for osu and was almost their leading receiver.
If they have a strike/lockout that costs part of the season I will no longer be an nfl fan, you can count on it. You will have no claim to call me a liar. My interest is dropping and I am so sick and tired of hearing overprivileged players and owners complain it may not even take a strike for me to give up following the team. These players and owners have the chance to positively affect so many lives but MOST (not all) of them do almost nothing to help others. There are people like Joe Thomas, Josh Cribbs, Aaron Harang, Brandon Phillips that make a difference in other people's lives with the power they have but most don't do anything but appreciate how much money they have.
I think that the owners and players are both a bunch of greedy spoiled brats. Imagine waking up tomorrow able to run a 4.4 forty and looking at $10,000,000 bucks then saying that it is a form of slavery. Or imagine waking up and finding that you own a team and you don't even have to try and win, you will still make $10,000,000 or more a year. Then you talk the city into building you a new stadium to keep you from moving. People still come to the games and buy jerseys no matter how bad the team is, what a great business. How many restaurants or hotels stay open when they suck? How many keep investing in the same computer when it sucks every time?
The fans are the patsies here. We are the ones allowing the spoiled owners and spoiled players to keep up their act. How many people keep watching a tv show that sucks except for sports? How many other places do you spend $8 on a beer and $6 on a soft pretzel that costs $.75?
If the owners and players crap on the golden egg they will only have themselves to blame.
I would love to see the look on his face when Holmgren says "here is the situation when we need you to play. You will be playing when the other team has the ball"
Hillis iz boss, good info on the positives. Knowing that he lost weight at Baylor makes me feel much better although now I am a little concerned that when he gets his truckload of money things could change
I think that if most of the people on this board had watched Sanzenbacher play they would love to get him late in the draft. There is another late round/free agent possibility at WR and that is Valentino out of Dayton. Dayton hasn't had a guy drafted for fourty years I think but this guy is small and could be a shifty receiver in the west coast offense. IF you really want a dark horse guy to look for Valentino is it
I liked the trade a lot but on the surface it does look like we drafted a 3/4 nose tackle. Usually when a guy is that big he continues to gain weight which means he will soon become an immovable and immobile object, perfect for the 3/4
Holmgren had one of the all time great defensive ends at Green Bay and it looks like he might see the same thing in Bowers. If they are right it will be a great pick. The Browns have said that they need starters in the draft so they might need to take some risks in order for that to happen
I think that cribbs can be a weapon with other viable receivers around him. Hit him on a five yard pattern if he is open and look out. He will draw attention so you could run him through an area and then send the running back into the same area which is now cleared out
To start with Mangini would still be the coach with some help on the offensive side of the ball. I would be looking for help in the same general places WR, DE/DT, RT, LB
If Hillis keeps carrying the ball that much he won't last long. Bettis said that 300 carry seasons are very tough and at the end he didn't think he was capable of that, plus hillis is catching the ball and trying to jump over defenders.
Heyward = another Vernon Gholston
Not a good comparison imho. Gholston was a defensive end being converted to linebacker. Heyward is a defensive lineman period.
I just don't see holmgren allowing the team to spend the first three draft picks on defense. He said he wants a home run hitter which isn't going to come in the later rounds without a TON of luck

I don't see any way that Owens will be allowed to say after running his mouth at the end of last season. But, Cincy has done a great job of drafting receivers in the past and not first rounds. Whosyourmomma and Chad were both second rounders I think

I don't think the Browns will return to greatness until everyone in the organization has the same goal, winning is number 1. I think Holmgren wants to be the hero and is more concerned about that than actually winning which bothers me. We will be better because we will have better talent but I don't see greatness. Prove me wrong Mike.
I don't know how you can give shurmer a B+ when he hasn't been a head coach before. He will probably get a lot of instruction from Holmgren though which could make that a fair grade.
I think Rhodes is a good addition but I'm not excited about the group.
What is the actual date the lockout is supposed to take place, the day before the draft? I am assuming the draft would be suspended if an agreement wasn't in place.
There will be plenty of sports to fill the time, college football, hockey and lingerie football. If they have a lockout I hope everyone switches to lingerie football (do you order a jersey or a sports bra? LOL) and the players go back to receiving $50,000 a year while the owners make a profit of $500,000 or less a year.
Way too much time and money are spent worrying about pro football. Maybe they will break our reliance on it when we find something better to do on Sundays, Thursday nights, Sunday nights and monday nights. Do these spoiled millionaires really deserve that much time and attention from us?

If the browns had planned on keeping mangini they probably would have obtained some linemen to help his 3/4 defense.
