Im guessing he either said "I do not want to coach here" and they allowed him out...or he had a clause in his contract that as the asst head coach..if the head coach gets fired his contract is no longer valid.

i have not heard either way.. but this was not a promotion..and it makes me a little ill

As a browns fan lving in florida i made my first trip ever to jacksonville for a game...

when i got to the tailgating sections is when reality hit...This is a tame bunch..and it felt like 1/4 of the fans were us browns fans...pretty impressive showing by the orange and brown overall..non playoff season etc..

the jag fans muscles grew as time expired of course.. and i took a little bit of crap heading back to my water taxi haha... also found it odd that the best seats in the stadium were half empty...

Our seats were great but that stadium is lacking in personality and whatever that middle school cheerleader thing is they do when they make a first down has got to go..its like watching a football game with the cast from Glee.

The offense sputtered run after run... Our old D coord Mel Tucker was dialing up the right scheme for the teal..and had a little chip on his shoulder...

But overall hanging with a ton of browns fans i have never met was soo much fun not even the loss could take that away..

Wish i could go every week...you friends back home in Cleveland enjoy it!

Making the trip over from Destin in the Panhandle..My first Browns game in 2 damn years!

All i know is Hayden and Wright with SHeldon B slamming people reggie bush style as a safety makes me smile a bit...abe elam is solid..but if they can snag taylor mays and trade back into rd 2 and get mccoy...im down!!!

Taylor Mayes in rd 2 brings ELITE SPEED to the secondary.

While i agree they need to look at RT they need impact playmakers in round 1 and 2..the earliest i hope they look at RT is 3rd round...grab another solid FA for RT if need be...they can block all day for whatever QB may be back there but noone can make plays on offense...

I am with you riffer..i watched enough CJ Spiller to know that guy is instant offense....a playmaker....i am not picthing for him at 7..but id be tempteed regardless of what i or anyone thinks of Jerome Harrison...he may be a goner anyway...

a trade down a few slots?..snatch up CJ and gain possibly another high 3rd or low 2nd...silly season..i know..but i can dream

if Taylor mays makes it to round 2 id be tempted honestly...he just needs a little coaching..and Rob Ryan is that guy

I still am not sure why everyone that he had a good season in cincy...he looked solid at times..but very lost others and i was never impressed..

I consider myself a serious Buckeye fan..not on the level of the browns...but i do hate the blue...

2 of my favorite browns of my era are Leroy Hoard and Steve Everitt ...both Wolverines...both played hard and knew how to play in Cleveland i even remember Everitt being one of the most outspoken when the browns moved to balitwhore...he even wore a browns t-shirt every game under his jersey while a raven (i dont know how long this carried on)..he was pissed..he got what this team means to cleveland and the fans around the globe. i never cared where he went to school...i considered it a bonus that he understood our kneck of the woods...our passion and blue collar mentality..much like Joe Thomas does today.

Dont get me wrong...I have dug Mangini since day one...but im torn...as has been pointed out if Holmgren is torn at all he should make this move quickly..as another off season building for Manginis style sets us back further...obviously. 3-4 non WCO...etc.
