Totally agree.
I bet one reason John Dorsey got canned was because he wasn't a "yes man."
Haslam's structure doesn't allow free-thinking, at least not beyond his desk.
Did AB have a good draft this year? I think we'd all say yes, we have some promising rookies, yet Haslam has said Shedeur was his pick. Jimmy just can't help himself, can't keep his hands off the football part. Maybe SS turns into something good/great, which would validate the meddling. The organizational craziness never ends.
I think Haslam patterns himself after Jerry Jones.
He wants to be "involved". He wants to think he's part of the process. He wants to hire guys that will be ok with that.
All of you posting your "Shitpanski" and "Stupidanski" gems (not you Bob) are incredibly short-sighted. If you think just firing Stefanski (which at this point I think should happen) is going to solve anything you are incredibly naive. The Browns could totally clean house, fire Stefanski, Berry and Depodesta and start over fresh in 2026, but the biggest problem will still be there. Jimmy and Dee Haslam.
I honestly do not believe they can hire a GM or head coach that is even remotely in-demand, because IMO I do not believe a person with options would have any interest coming to this organization. Kevin Stefanski received TWO head coach interviews - one with the Browns in 2019 when they stayed in-house and hired Freddie Kitchens, one with the Browns in 2020 when he got the gig. That's it. No one else even interviewed him.
And IMO he will not be the Browns head coach in 2026. And it wouldn't surprise me if down the road many of us look back at him and say:
"Man, maybe he wasn't that bad. He somehow got this trainwreck into the playoffs twice in six seasons and occasionally beat AFC North teams..." because the Haslams will still be in charge, and THEY are the biggest problem with this team, and why I'm not optimistic things are going to get better.
