Anderson should have been the starter from day one. Quinn is not NFL QB material. He looks very paranoid in the shotgun. He throws too quickly. His passes are inaccurate. He DOES NOT read the blitz well. He throws only 3-10 yard passes and not well. What is the love affair with this guy in here? To be frank, HE SUCKS! Please start Anderson and lets at least get a few victories this year. Otherwise we are doomed to a Detroit season.

Quinn still confident under fire -
With BQ, we should have traded BE instead of K2K2 would have been a superstar if he had stayed healthy. He chose the reckless route.

Jason, Aloy, Ytown, ShepNo Inspecta you are the one full of sh*t, you were on here with 1,000 post from the 1st of the year telling everybody how terrible DA is and how much better BQ would be..............Well Be careful what you ask for........sometimes what you want is not as good as you think you are getting
BQ SUCKED this week and he will continue to suck when he plays a good defensive team, alot of guys acted like he was ready for the Hall of Fame after he dink and dunked on a poor Denver defense last year, then made excuses about his performance in the Buffalo and Houston games when with just a little film on him he SUCKED, now if he goes out this week and plays good against a poor Denver team we will once again hear all the BQ praises, yet you are the first person to say in 2007 we played a bunch of bums.......Tell me what defense other than a poor Broncos defense has Brady done anything against?
BQ is not the answer for this team. We should have drafted Sanchez. Now we are stuck with two mediocre QB's, neither of which will help turn this franchise around. What is the answer??????

Something hugeOk mister cynical... how is it a ploy to get people on their site, when the only way you'd have seen this particular nugget was if you were already a member of their site?
Or if someone like me posted that something was on their site...
The title of their insider blog post was... "Prepare yourselves - news coming..."
OBR is worthless, IMO. Go ahead and pay for something that will be on the news 2 minutes later. Laughable.

QB Answer Coming Soon@oconrecon said:
NFL Rumors: Derek Anderson Trade Looming?September 04, 2009 By: Scott Category: Cleveland Browns
A lot of Browns fans were shocked to see that neither Brady Quinn nor Derek Anderson would be playing during last night’s game against the Bears. For a quarterback controversy that had allegedly not been decided to this point, the surprise makes sense.
However, if you look at the other side of the coin, not playing the two quarterbacks does two things:
1) It keeps the decision in Eric Mangini’s court. A few snaps at this point in the season would not make either quarterback better, especially at the cost of the downside of injury. All it takes is one play; if either quarterback were to succumb to even a minor nick, not only does that take the decision out of Mangini’s hands, it also decreases the value of the other QB.
2) It (supposedly) keeps the Minnesota Vikings guessing.
Now, to that second point. A recent interview with Brian Asshole touched on the quarterback situation. Asshole’s point was that it isn’t like Quinn and Anderson are very different in terms of skill set. Sure, one throws a little further, and the other has more a presence in the huddle. But we are not talking about one being a run-first, athletic type versus a pocket passer - similar to the Todd Boeckman/Terrelle Pryor use of last season.
Factor in the new of the Browns making a waiver claim on yet another quarterback, albeit a failed one, and it seems that there is little chance that both quarterbacks will be on this roster for the duration of the 2009 NFL season.
Of course, Mangini was mum on the situation following last night’s contest.
“In terms of the quarterbacks, I have no additional information on that. There’s nothing really to add. The information I have based on what they’ve done at this point is what the decision will be based on.”
And on the failed attempt at claiming Kevin O’Connel?
“Something internal, so we’ll leave it at that.”
Recall that Brett Ratliff was traded for by Mangini on draft day. His roster spot is pretty much a lock at this point - and it is not far-fetched to imagine that Mangini would like Ratliff to be the team’s No., 2 quarterback, instead of a third/emergency type role.
There were talks that the Jacksonville Jaguars were hot on the trail of another quarterback to back-up David Garrard. They recently added the abovementioned Todd Boeckman, but one would have to imagine that they would prefer Anderson if the cost was right. Other NFL teams that could be looking for an additional QB include the New York Jets (put in a claim for O’Connel), New England (no Cassell and recently released a back-up QB), Denver (they also put in a claim for O’Connel and Kyle Orton is their starter), Chicago (Caleb Haine is currently their No. 2), and St. Louis (Marc Bulger has a broken finger).
Of course, this is all based on the mosaic theory. We are just piecing different thoughts together, looking to come to a conclusion. There may be just as good of a chance that Anderson is holding the clipboard come September 13th when Brett Favre and company role into town. If that’s the case, Anderson will be holding that clipboard while making approximately $7 million.

I think DA is the starter. If Quinn was "in" he would have already been named. A lot of this Board's members are going to be uncomfortable after it happens. Get over it.

football star saves 22 kids from armed studentWhat made this girl go off the deep end in the first place?
It's rural Mississippi. An all African American School. This poor girl was a victim of racism and god knows what else her entire life. It's not surprising to me. I hope that she receives the counseling and help she so desperately needs.

Michael Jackson RIPThis was an awful tragedy. I have all of his songs and am an avid fan. He was the best performer. RIP Michael.

This Draft.......YAAAWWWNNN!!!!This draft will not do anything for the Browns. I don't see us improving at all, except maybe at Center. Predict a lackluster season. Wonder how DA will do? He will probably pass better because of more protection. Defense? Don't see much improvement. Just telling the truth as I see it folks, don't shoot me.

-
We should have traded Quinn for some good draft picksI cant believe we didn't trade Quinn for some picks. He is not the Quarterback of the Browns future. He is mediocre at best. This was an extremely disappointing draft. A center for number one, when we need explosive Offense and Defense? This shows a team trying to save money. That is all it says to me.

No Love for QuinnOf course DA looked the part better than Quinn last year in practice. He had NO pressure of a competition on him, he had already been named starter and the whole world was told there was NO competition. That's when DA performs best, when there are no expectations and no pressure. You noticed he didn't carry that level of play into the season, right?
Give me a break! I think the coach is in a MUCH BETTER position to determine who the better QB is, not some armchair coach who is in love with BQ. The better QB won, DA. This Quinn love in here is getting nauseating. I'm not saying DA is a great QB, just better then BQ, as judged by the coach. Not the fans who have no clue as to whom is better.

Raji BUSTEDTalk about a lack of judgment? This kid is ready to make huge dollars and he does drugs, when he KNOWS he will have a drug test? Stay away from him at all costs. -
The Latest on "The Trade"Here's the problem with this scenario:
The Browns traded a 2nd round pick and used a 1st round pick to select Quinn and all they'd be getting for him now according to the original post in this thread is...a 1st and a 2nd round pick.
Which would mean that we'd have drafted Brady Quinn, who many saw as the best QB in that draft class, never played him for any significant time, and then got ZERO return for him.
Unless ManKok thinks Quinn is the biggest bust since Ryan Leaf, this isn't a step forward. It would be a lateral, 100% rebuild type of move.
And we'd still be without a franchise QB with no franchise QB in this draft.
So though I love the idea of FIVE day one picks in this draft, I can't quite get past the notion that we'd be not only throwing in the towel on this year completely but also flushing completely away the last 2 years of "development" of Quinn.
Again, WITHOUT EVER PLAYING HIM.
This type of thing would be unprecedented to say the least.
I don't think that many saw Quinn as the best QB in that draft class. He was passed over and embarrassed on National TV as he sat their with the other "favorites" of that draft. I think he is overrated by many in here as some future HOF. I think he may be traded before Anderson. We need to get a Quarterback in here regardless. If it's him, then let him play, lets see what he can do. If not, trade him for the best we can get.

Quinn not NFL caliber"I know all of Cleveland has great hopes for Quinn, but the general feeling in the NFL is that he’s too inaccurate and too inconsistent to be a full time starter. Quinn slipped in the draft two years ago for a reason, and that reason was his inability to be accurate on all three levels. As Cleveland makes changes to its roster, don’t count out making a move at quarterback."
http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2009/0...he-cutler-saga/
This is so true. Quinn did not impress me whatsoever when he started. I understand that he hurt his "pinky" finger, but really, this is the NFL is it not? There is a reason Quinn was passed over in the draft by so many teams, and left to squirm on National Television. He isn't very good.

what the -uckthe first agent we pick up is a te
who thats what we really needed
please wake me when the next coach gets here
i don't know how much longer i can do this shit
Then don't watch. Give the new coach a chance. The Draft isn't even here and the negative jerks are already spouting about a next coach. Give it a break already.

Rogers Unhappy?Chickenwang said:
I'd line up some trades quickly before the draft. See yah Rogers, Braylon, DA, and whoever else doesn't want to be here.Lets get some Draft Picks!
I would add Brady Quinn in also. He would be worth some valuable draft picks, and since Mangini has already stated that he is not the "in stone" starter, why not? I have a feeling that the Quinn lovers in here are going to be very disappointed in a few months. Support the team fellas, not one player.

Rey Maualuga injured... and so are other top prospects!Aloysius said:
Before he got hurt, Maualuga put up what may have been the worst broad jump of any linebacker at the combine (8'11") and ran an unofficial 4.83 40 (he suffered the injury while decelerating).I have a hard time understanding how all of this was a positive for him. Maybe the preexisting injury makes it less of a negative, but it only fuels concerns about Maualuga's preparation & conditioning. He showed up to the Senior Bowl in poor shape, didn't go to one of the pre-combine training facilities, and was convinced/forced by Pete Carroll to switch agents only a week ago.
He'll need to have a great pro day to clean up this mess.
I think that this was a guy who was way over-hyped by the media. I have seen nothing in film or performance so far to justify the hype. I would pass on this guy.

40 Times Not as Good as ExpectedI hope we take Wells. His speed is good, and he has power. He may not run away from the CB's, but he will RUN OVER them.
-
Browns willing to keep QB AndersonThis doesn't surprise me at all. DA will fight for the starting job. He could very well be the starter this year. If he beats out Quinn, he will be. May the best man win.

The case for Jon KitnaI concur. Kitna would be a good pick as a backup.
