I'll pass on Kevin Kolb. In his limited amount of time, albeit with good numbers, his arm was weak and the offense was different from the offense seen with Mcnabb behind the wheel. Kolb doesnt seem to have the ability to go deep and his arm would only become weaker when we get into November and December. He also does not appear to be that mobile. I'd rather stick with Brady if kolb was the only option.

Rogers for Kolb??? -
Holmgren wants QB named before training campWhy is it that everytime someone refers to Brady Quinn they always talk about his decision making? His decision making skills are better than Derek Anderson but theres more to playing quarterback than smart decisions. I guess everyone overlooks the horrible accuracy that Brady has show so far.

Carson PalmerCarson Palmer was on the fast track to greatness before the knee injury in the playoffs against the Steelers. He was in the top 5 best qb's in the league. I believe the elbow injury last year and the knee injury from before have taken away most of his ability. Why else would a team that could throw for 100 yards in 1 quarter switch to a ball control offense. It doesn't make sense. It was hard watching him that last game. He was very inaccurate late on his decision making and had trouble throwing for 100 yards.

Stallworth UpdateWe already know Brian Robiskie is not that good. He had trouble getting separation from defenders when in college against top level athletes and he had trouble all year just dressing for the games. I held out hope for him until I heard Mangini talking about him contributing on special teams lol.

McNabb to Cleveland?Yep - like Ben could have been your QB in 2004 - dumb da da dumb
Ben would not be nearly as good as he is now if he were drafted by Cleveland so that really does not make any sense. He was protected by a dominant run game and a dominant defense in his early years while he developed his skills. He would not have had that opportunity in Cleveland. We need a qb that created for himself when receivers are not open and one that can complete a pass downfield to a receiver who is open.

Will Holmgren go after Hasselbeck?I would not want Matt Hassleback at all maybe 5 years ago but not now

Yuck to the TOP QB prospect!!!If we do not bring in a Mike Vick I wouldn't mind taking a chance on Super Sam Bradford if he checks out alright with the medical staff
-
2010 free agency listHopefully the Eagles decide not to exercise their option on Mike Vick. He would instantly be the best qb we've had since we've been back.
-
Yuck to the TOP QB prospect!!!Is Cleveland ready for a black quarterback is a very good question. Since we've been back the only black quarterback has been speurgon wynn lol. Everytime a black qb is mentioned all you hear about is their defeciencies. Mike Vick was a good qb juss ask defensive coordinators around the league. Matter of fact the same people saying that he was no good should look at what we had this year behind center. If we are building a dominant run game we should get a running qb that can throw. (Mike Vick, Troy Smith, Mcnabb, Dixon, Young). Please no more comments about Vick and dogs thats the past he did his time and its time to move on from that.
-
Yuck to the TOP QB prospect!!!Troy Smith would be a nice option. He was and is a better qb than Brady Quinn. If Troy Smith does not get traded here hopefully our new gm from Philly brings Michael Vick with him.

Cribbs intends to walk after low offerYou clearly have a limited understanding of how contracts work in the NFL and probably football in general. Ok, let's go with your McD's analogy. Tdub, say you sign a 1 year contract with McD's to work the french fry machine for $6 an hour. After 2 months on the job, you find out you are a badass at kicking out french fries while those lazy bitches at the counter make $9 and hour for doing nothing. You go to your boss and say, "I am the baddest french fry making motherf-er on the planet. I bust out 20 trays and hour while all other fry makers can only do 13 trays. I want a raise to $18 an hour (roughly the equivalent of cribbs)" Manager pulls out your contract where it states that you signed at 6 bucks and you are contractually obligated at that rate. The contract also states you cannot go over to the burger king across the street and flip fries no matter if they want to pay you $100 an hour until the remaining 10 months on your contract is served. Your manager is even nice enough to pay you $12 (what browns offered) because he admits that you are pretty badass at flipping fries. If you don't like it, you can 1. quit (sit out for the rest of the contract) 2. get ur ass back to the fry cooker and serve your 10 months. Now your manager can shop you to burger king if he can get great value for you, but that isn't up to you. It isn't McDonald's fault that you signed on at 6 bucks an hour for longer than you wanted to be under contract. It is your fault and whoever is advising you (probably your mom if you work at McDonalds).
NFL contracts are complex, but that is the basic situation for Cribbs as I understand it.
Yes Cribbs made a mistake by signing that contract which did not seem like a mistake at the time. Right now though Cribbs has proven to us and everyone that he deserves to be making more money. You can't be serious with the doubling of his salary 1.4 millions in the NFL thats chump change and everyone knows it. Free agent or not Holmgren would be better served by paying this man what he deserves immediately.

Great Win orchestrated by Derek AndersonWe've given DA plenty of time. No good. We've given Quinn not even a full season if you count his starts. He has shown some great talent. Give him all of next season. All of it. If he is no good, get rid of him.
I AM A QUINN SUPPORTER AND IM GODDAMN PROUD OF IT.
Great Talent? Did I miss something?

Cowher to Coach in 2010?Sivlerback DPOY said:
I didn't name call, I never do. I didn't get defensive. I just used fact to disprove a crazy conspiracy thoery. (a claim someone on here tries to make after every Steeler game) I did not think the refs tried to sway the game either way today with the calls they made. I am simply pointing out facts that prove the refs don't favor the Steelers. Take note that I didn't make them in attempt to accuse the refs of being biased. I wouldn't have brought up anything from the Steeler game if another member of this board didn't do so first. I am not trying to make a big deal, just trying to quiet to one guy's conspiracy theory. No brown fan on hear can comment on the Steeler game as they were watching the Browns game. Same with Steeler fans and the Browns game. The Ravens have no one to blame but themselves in this game. The blew multiple touchdowns the worst one being an east td grab by Derrick Mason

Browns win despite not having a QBlol the first pick was a horrible thrown pass to the defense and the second ball was a horrible thrown ball in double coverage maybe you need to watch that over again
-
Thank you HarrisonI have to admit I kind've wanted the game to go into overtime just to see Jerome break the record
-
Quinn not looking good so farQuinn has looked pretty bad in this game. Let's hope he can get it together in the second half. On a positive note the running games look alright.
-
Quinn does nothing in GREAT win!!!I saw Quinn make a critical first down witha a qb sneak....I saw Quinn throw a few completioons to make critical first downs...and I saw Quinn lead a team as the field general to a victory. The important thing....I didn't see DA throwing interceptions all over the field. This was Quinn's win as much as it was Cribbs'......but you have to know the game of football to realize that. Happy hating.
That's not hate my man that's called keeping it real. Brady did not make any mistakes which is a very good thing. On the other hand there were many plays left on the field due to in inaccurate passes last night. Last night did not make me feel any better about our current state of the qb position in Cleveland.

Chris Jennings or Jerome HarrisonI want to see more of Chris Jennings he seems to have more potential. Jerome Harrison is a scat back who is not good at breaking tackles.

Dropped PassesI bet every QB that has ever lived would agree with you (or at least WANT to agree with you)...but here is the reality.
Passes are often TOUCHED by the hands despite never having a real chance of being caught.
1. The ball is nose down and below the waste with speed
2. The ball is at the VERY TOP of the receivers reach (finger tips) with speed
3. The ball hits the receiver as they make their BLIND cut with speed
4. The ball is wobbling and unpredictable as it hits the hands (no way to anticipate and get both hands on it)
5. The ball is BEHIND the receiver, with the receiver running across the formation, and throws with speed
these are just a few...and note the WITH SPEED comment.
A ball thrown low can be caught much more readily if it has touch....same goes for a top pass (look at Eli Manning's pass in the SB caught on the guys head...notice it was NOT zipped)...same goes for a receiver coming out of a blind cut as it gives them time to react...and with a ball BEHIND the receiver as well, as they can make an adjustment.
Even though a receiver can make adjustments to any pass, the ability to make them AND do it quickly enough for a ball without touch..it adds up to the receiver is being asked to do it all and the QB is getting the benefit of the doubt.
How much nicer if he actually put some TOUCH on it...or had some ACCURACY...EITHER ONE please. But lacking BOTH equals drops (or in my opinion, uncatchable passes...and apparently my opinion is shared by the statisticians).
If a receiver in the NFL gets two hands on the ball, the ball should be caught point blank period. No matter how hard it is thrown these guys are getting too much money. Maybe u should watch some film on John Elway or Brett Favre in their prime two of the strongest armed qbs ever. There receivers caught the ball and please dont say the balls were thrown perfectly cause your fooling yourself.

DB's??The coverage today was very suspect. I am getting tired of Hines Ward, on of the slowest receivers in the league, getting wide open and having big games against us. It is very sickening
