I'm mostly a lurker around here, but I wanted to point out that this is not true. Adderall is a regular amphetamine, like speed basically. While these can certainly be harmful and it's not good to use a ton, the harmful effects are not on par with meth (i.e. methamphetamine). Don't want to get too technical on a football board, but there is an extra methyl (chemistry anyone?) in methamphetamine that alters the way it interacts with your system.

I definitely agree that adderall use is an epidemic at the Ivys and probably many schools. Most of the people that went to undergrad here on my campus tried it or used it regularly for cramming.

Actually, when the Patriots got Moss from the Raiders, all they gave up was a 4th, and that was before his record setting 2007. I think character issues played a role in the low valuation at the time, and Wallace would likely garner more than that. I'd give up the 22 or the 2nd rounder, considering he is still young.

Right, his stats will improve and he'll make less mistakes if all the components around him are upgraded (by how much? I'm not sure, if I had to guess: still slightly below league average). But if you don't see limitations, then you're not paying attention. Even when given time, his ability to throw downfield with any accuracy is negligible.

I'm not so sure that his decision making will improve that much. He doesn't look much different than Charlie Frye to me (and why should he? they were both picked in the same round if I remember correctly).

My main point is that Colt lacks the skills to become an elite QB. This is not a major revelation, because no NFL teams thought that he did (which is why he was a 3rd rounder)! In two years, I haven't seen anything to suggest he's the next Tom Brady or Joe Montana (i.e. later round picks that DID become elite). Do you genuinely believe that he CAN become elite? We have 2 first round picks this year. If ever there was a time to gamble on a first round QB, this is a good year.

Give me a break. No one is claiming that RG3 would have had us in the playoffs. But as pointed out, professional football evaluations rate him highly, and posters on here are excited about the potential that they hear about. Someone a few posts back said they wouldn't want to do it the way the colts did - you wouldn't want to contend for a decade and win a SB?

As for Colt - his weaknesses are easy to see. He isn't accurate, he can't throw downfield, and his decision-making on the field is suspect. With a better line/RB/WRs - of course he'd be better. But it's easy to see now what his limitations are, and it's clear he'll never be an elite QB. Why so many people on here DON'T want a QB with a chance to be elite (hey even if RG3's chances are 50%, that's 50% better than Colt) is a mystery to me. And for those that actually think Colt will/can win a lot of games - why is that... well... he did big things in college I guess?

From what I can tell, Blackmon is an extremely solid receiver, but he doesn't seem to be elite in any one way (speed, size, etc.). I think he is a very safe bet to be a good receiver, but I think that HOF projections are beyond premature.

It's not really about age to be honest. On college campuses, you tend to run into a lot less bigotry and narrow-mindedness. To qualify myself, it's still there, and I'm sure it varies by campus, but one does tend to run into more ignorance when venturing outside of the ivory towers of academia.

If Kendall Wright turns out to be as good as Wallace, that would be amazing for whoever gets him. I don't think that giving up the #4 for Wallace is worth it (I don't think drafting Blackmon at #4 is worth it either). But if the choice was the 22 for Wallace (vs. drafting Wright or Floyd or any other WR), I'd do that in a second.
