nmills said:Mangini said he's gonna start him at inside backer and depending on how he picks up the system and how he performs he could be moved to OLB but for now ILB is his starting point. That could be his exact words if I remember correctly considering the origin of this thread seems like his performance will probably be the decider.

Defense will "Mix in 4-3" by Site Staff of theOBR.com, March 11, 2009 at 8:51am ET Ahtyba Rubin Profile In an interview with the Pensacola News-Journal, Browns NT Ahtyba Rubin briefly previewed the Browns defense in 2009 by saying "It's different coaches, but it won't be all that different. We're still going to run a 3-4 (style defense), but we're going to mix in some 4-3. It's basically the same coaching style." Scout.com I'm not a member so this is only the beginning of the article. I like hearing this though. Versatility is something we need to move towards. This shows that Rob Ryan is looking to not over complicate things but be aggressive and mix things up a bit.

On rotoworld it's announced as a 4th rounder..there is good value there for the vikes to snag him for a 4...Although prolly means we are looking at a 3 for DA

Here is a blurb from GM Mark Dominick (TB) at the combine: Signing a veteran quarterback to compete with the recently re-signed Luke McCown is also said to be on Dominik’s free-agent wish list. “We’ll take another quarterback to camp at least,” Dominik said. “I see us with at least four quarterbacks and we have three under contract right now. We’re certainly still looking, but we’re willing to look at every level. It could be college, it could be a veteran that’s going to be unrestricted, it could be someone that you could acquire (in a trade). I don’t feel like we have to be typecast.”

@onefellswoop7 said:Talent doesn't = wins. The Browns have some good talent (could use more...sure). However, the talent brought in A) Didn't stay healthy and wasn't coached very well. Mangini is in a pretty decent spot coming in. RAC had NOTHING...like Mangini did when he arrived in NY. This job allows him to work with a roster that more or less needs adjusted...not blown up and redone. I hope you're right, but I'm not sure. The first thing that needs to be done is to focus on how we can actually have a WINNING record in the AFC North, and a WINNING record at home. Note to Mangini- Pitt & Balt cannot be beaten by a running game, their defenses are pretty damn good.
