Top Browns QB'sWith the trade and all the QB talk where does Tim Couch rank as an all time Browns QB? Top 5? Outside of Otto Graham, Sipe and Kosar I guess he would be up there. I don't know much about Frank Ryan and Vinny was marginal during his tenure here.
Thoughts?

The Sky Is Not Falling On The BrownsLook. I understand this team isn't amazing. But they aren't as bad as some I you make it seem.
This team is one or two plays from being 2-2 with being competitive in the two losses. This team will learn and grow together and figure out how to make those 1-2 plays work in their favor and learn to win games together. Hopefully Haslam makes a head coaching change. I think a different attitude is needed to instill a winning mentality. But I want heckert to stay he has a great thing going with. Building through the draft.
We have so many young talented players that can win games in the future together it looks promising.
Our defense needs work in the secondary I understand that. Haden being back helps and next years draft. Our line looked great. Linebackers could use work. But we have a ton of first and second year players playing on both sides of the ball that are still learning on the fly.
This team holds a lot of promise and I'm excited for the future of the browns. There's potential.
I haven't really felt that about previous teams since we came back in 99 when I started following the browns.
Maybe ite because I don't really know what a winning browns team feels like. But this has the beginnings of something.
Some things that are fixable that will generate wins:
Weeden not throwing easy pick sixes and focusing on one route.
Little and company hanging onto the ball
Linebackers that can cover the pass
Complimentary corner to Haden that is young and won't hold every play.
New head coach that is hungry to win and will make the team hungry for it too.
I look at seattke as a good example. Hungry coach means a hungry team. They are winning games without a stellar team.
Just my opinion maybe someone else shares it. But it's not doom and gloom.
While I agree this team has some young talent. The old adage of we could have won this game with a few plays or calls here or there is so overplayed, we hear it every year. At some point there needs to be results and the only thing matters in the NFL is wins, nothing else.

Division Gamesits not just division games
Oh I understand it is not just division games. But this a glaring weakness for this franchise, we are not even close to anyone in the AFC in division records since 2005. Even the consistently weaker franchises win multiple division games due to familiarity, pride etc...
Check out these records of each teams divison games since 2005 thru 2011.
Pats 33-9
Colts 30-12
Steelers 29-13
Chargers 29-13
Ravens 25-17
Bengals 23-19
Titans 21-21
Jets 21-21
Broncos 21-21
Jaguars 19-23
Chiefs 19-23
Dolphins 17-25
Raiders 15-27
Texans 14-28
Bills 13-29
Browns 7-35 and 0-2 this season.

Division GamesOK this is getting way to common and old. Why can't the Browns win division games anymore? I mean come on guys you see these teams the most and are most familiar with them. Even when we first came back in 99 we would win 2-3 games a year within the division. Now since 2005 we have won multiple division games ONCE in 07. Unfreaking believable that we cant knock our rivals off more than this. We have now lost 12 straight division games and since 05 we are 7-37(with 3 of those wins coming in 2007), that is beyond pathetic, you almost have to try to be this bad.

Rank The Afc North DraftSo how does everyone rank the AFC North Teams draft selections?

Cleveland Browns Gm Tom Heckert Guarantees Browns Won't Trade Up To No. 3, Will Consider Trading Down "a Few Spots''@king-ghoolie-lives said:
There is absolutely no evidence that the Browns are building through the draft. Where do you get this horseshit?
Because 9 of their 22 starters on offense and defense come from the last 2 drafts.
9-23 in those 2 years, maybe all 9 shouldnt be starting.

Playoff TriviaCheck on these except McCarthy.

Steelers At BrownsI hope it's a freakin blizzard, with chill factors of below zero, where Browns fans are real, and
sissy, bandwagon squeeeeeeler fiends stay home and drunkenly watch their tv sets with the power out, and wonder
why the game isn't on yet.
This is the sad situation we are in now where we have to worry about Steelers fans hopefully not showing up to OUR home game. It is pathetic what this FO has down to this franchise. I will be there Sunday hopefully there wont be 15-20000 steeler fans as well. But there are a ton of tickets for sale online...I used to blame the fans for this but I dont anymore I dont blame them a bit, this FO just stinks. They have turned this great franchise into a laughing stock that is never even mentioned nationally anymore.
We need to be able to compete in the division and since we have yet to have a winning record in this division since our return in '99 then every year will be the same this has to change.
22-68 inside the division since '99 unreal. Only 3 seasons at .500 5-5 in 2001 when the Jags and Titans were still in the division, 3-3 in 2002 and 3-3 in 2007.
The Browns records in division since 1999
vs Steelers 4-22 (one playoff loss)
vs Ravens 7-19
vs Bengals 9-17
vs Jags 1-5
vs titans 1-5

VentI need to vent for a moment. Every year we go through this, we are SO irrelevent anymore it is unreal. The only tthing I have heard about the Browns this entire season nationally is this recent Colt issue and if the Browns followed protocol etc...I mean enough is enough someone on this team needs to do something anything, get a freaking fine for all I care do something that shows some emotion and get some people fired up. This team honestly shows up like they are the Washington Generals goes out for 60 minutes and collects another paycheck. There is nothing memorable at all about this team no special moments, no special plays, nothing it is sickening.
Ok now that I am done with that top 3 needs lets hear them?

Phil DawsonSuch a shame to waste such a good kicker on a crappy team every year.

Old And New TriviaNone of these is right, though, again, some of these names like Highlanders, Orphans etc. were names of these teams at some point, they were not THE original name.
2. The Browns second pick, Jaball Sheard, is from Pitt. Pitt has produced 6 PFHOFers in its history. Name at least 4 of them.
Marino, Dorsett,Ditka drawing a blank...
Those three are right, but there are three others.
Russ Grimm and Rickey Jackson just got in. Is Chris Doleman in the HoF?
-
Peter King On When Browns Become Legit Playoff ContendersThe lockout is really going to hurt and put the new staff behind the 8 ball at the start of the season, so Playoffs maybe quite a stretch this year.
