Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule Discussion -
Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule DiscussionWe want the same rules to apply to our opponents as apply to our players. When our player made a similar play, he was flagged immediately and heavily fined. Your player has yet to receiver either.
With the penalty now increasing, who do you think has a better chance of falling prey to this new punishment? Your team which seems to ALWAYS get away with this type of shit, or ours who get flagged for every push, love tap, and close call?
In that regard, the sport was already ruined ... welcome to YOUR aftermath.
Because as your own team players said... there was nothing illegal about that hit. It was clean. Get over it. You whinners will ruin this game. Go get your skirt girl.

Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule DiscussionMatt Millen said it the best. If they change this rule, they screw the game of football and all the fans. He was pissed as are most of the players who are being interviewed about this new rule.
Atenears, you really should take up a nicer sport like bocce`. More your cup of tea.

Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule DiscussionBlame Harrison. It was hits like his on Momass where he took an upward cut the forearms weilding upward toward his head that drew this decision. Why not allow a shot on the ball and a downward hit driving through the ball and into the hips and legs? Remember to "stay low"?
Blame Harrison for making two kill shots leading head first and at the head on both plays. He's plenty big enough to make the same tackle hitting at the chest, trunk, or legs.
Don't blame the messenger, blame the asshole who violates the early warning rules, then runs to the media and gives the league poster-boy quotes such as "I WANT TO HURT OTHERS".
Blame Harrison the dumb bastard on Roids.
Bullshit. Even your own players disagree with you. Maybe bowling is more your speed.

Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule DiscussionAt least the browns players have some balls and admit that it was not a dirty hit and is a part of the game. You people who want a pussified version of this game should watch flag football.

Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule DiscussionThe only thing I dislike about this rule is the subjective manner in which it will have to be enforced.
Overall I agree...somewhere along the line players seem to forget it's about tackling a player, not hitting a player.
I still maintain the players would be safer if you reduced the amount of padding they wore and made them feel a little exposed.
I totally agree with you on reducing the amount of padding. But I don't like this rule at all and think it will ruin the game completely. There is a reason that they show the hardest hits as in.... he got "jacked up." It's because the fans and the players want this. This game is the most popular game in America because of how it is played, not because it is a safe and friendly game. I'm totally disgusted with much of the new rules put in place by Goodell.

Yeah, how many Steelers had live altering experiences after all their head injuries? Merril Hoge still comes out swinging when the pizza delivery boy rigs the doorbell. MIke Webster met a tragic end supposedly because of head injury induced depression.Harrison purposely lead with his head, and he didn't have to. That is what makes this guy even more despicable.
Steroids, lighter equipment, better training, more competition and better fields all contribute to faster, more violent impacts. WHile guys have much more lean muscle today, their spines are no different than the guys playing in the 60's. There's your problem.
It's fun to be Jack Lambert and put dresses on the sissies who don't want to get hit, isn't it? Especially when it's your rivals getting hurt. Well, sooner or later Steeler Vermin, it's going to happen to one of your own, hell, with HArrison leading with his head so much, he's a prime suspect for taking one not quite right.
Or wait, maybe he has a special kind of spinal chord that doens't crack, eh? Wow, he's superman.............
As far as Steve Young goes, he is a prime example of why the Commissioner needs to change things. Football players know nothing else but playing ball, They will play well beyond teh voice of reason when further hits could ruin their lives. Young was getting a concussion every time someone yelled "COLD BEER HERE" and still, he insisted that he was fine.
My problem with this Commissioner is that he is only half committed. Letting Vick back in was sickening. Reducing PeePeeburgers suspension because he promised to be good was also BS. THe NFL has done a lot of things that piss fans off, like curtailing celebrations and not showing bad behavior................... BUT........... the NFL continues to grow. So don't worry about nobody showing up.
Steeler fans? Yeah, you guys are Johnny come lately and don't even know your own history, let alone appreciating the fraternity of the NFL. Left up to you the NFL would be an unrooly, violent shithole. That is of course, until it was YOUR guys who started getting hurt, THEN, you scum would be the first ones to cry foul.
If a STEELERS player gets hurt because of the game... so be it. Nobody is immune to injury. But the game is supposed to be violent. It's what made this game and why we play the game and watch the game. You take away the hard hits, you take away football. The NFL should get rid of Goodell, he is xxxxing the game up.

Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule Discussionaggressiveness is the nfl. playing hard is the nfl. violence is smacking your girl around and getting arrested for assault.
I said violent, not violence. It is supposed to be a violent sport. You take away the hard hits, you take away the game. The more they make rules that stop violent hits the more the game suffers. If you want a safe game play bocce.
-
Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule DiscussionI agree on Cribbs. I don't think Harrison did anything wrong on that play. He was just trying to make a play.
I think the MoMss hit will get him fined. I don't think he was trying to be dirty on that play, but, the NFL has it's rules and that one was close enough that when you add in what happened to Cribbs the NFL is probably going to seek a contribution to their general fund.
Wow. Someone actually being honest and understands the game is quick and violent. The way it is supposed to be.

Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule Discussionso you stood up and cheered when darryl stingley was carted off the field? instead of human beings lifting themselves and launching themselves at opponents, why don't we fill up a big bag of shit and shoot it out of a cannon at the guys coming across the middle? nobody's calling for the end of aggressive play..........violent thug play yes. too bad your team is on the giving end of the argument because of harrison. and because he is your boy everyone in steeler land just argues against anything involving their team.
Cheered? No. But I don't want the game changed to make is safer if a player gets hit. The game is supposed to be violent. Injuries are a part of this game and always have been. Maybe the other version of football is more your "cup of tea." This is not about violent thug play, it's called football and you are supposed to try and hit the other player and hurt them. Do you actually think that when they hit someone it's not supposed to hurt them? I've never been against aggressive play even if it is against our own players. It's what the game is supposed to be like.

Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule DiscussionUnbelievable how much of a bunch of pussies there are as fans of the NFL anymore. This game was designed to be violent. It's supposed to be that way. The more they change rules to make the game safer the more the game suffers. Yes, players get hurt, sometimes seriously. It's why they get paid millions of dollars. It's part of the game and always should be. This game was never meant to be safe.
-
Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule DiscussionThe NFL will soon be like pee wee football. Let's not even keep score anymore. Would not want to hurt someones feelings let alone get an injury in a sport that was meant to be violent.
-
Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule DiscussionSee you in a few weeks when you get another chance. Good luck with that.

Head-to-Head Hits & New Rule DiscussionI DO ROIDS ... and GIVE HEAD
You are in full pussy mode and yes... I do believe you might do roids and give head. It's a shame when people want to take the violence out of a violent game. Those hits were good clean hits unless you were looking through brown stained glasses and wish your own team had defense like that.

Happy Gameday Browns FansThis thread IS NOT FOR Shitzburgh Fans Buddy Only for my Browns Fans lol Have a Great day I always feel Great after a walk in the woods My dawgs even Get excited they must have chased some deer off or some steeler TROLLS Like you took them almost 40 Minutes to return to the truck lol
LOL. Your family was not able to afford grammar school? Your punctuation is awful. Are all browns fans this ignorant or is this just your special day? Ever hear of a comma or a period? It's obvious you have heard of a period but I'm not talking about the kind your wife has. Nor am I talking about your little PMS fit you just had.

Happy Gameday Browns Fanstook out the Girls this Morning for a Walk in the state forest My wife was Looking for my dog lol
Yes, happy game day. That walk will probably be the best part of your day. If you need some anxiety relief and another walk does not work after the game, try some ativan.
You really have to love browns fans for sticking with their team through all the terrible coaching, effort on the field, and losses. Those statistics from the 50s that only your father or grandfather saw or cared about really must help you feel better about your team.

Live Stream, this week a challenge!posting live links to NFL games gets them shut down. You should only do that through PMs and only to those people you know.
