Elway had these three receivers, back in the late 80's, for those who don't remember....

all three were short.

Mark Jackson was drafted in round 6, and was 5'9", 174 pounds.

Vance Johnson was drafted in round 1, a surprise, and was the tallest,

at 5'11", 180.

And, Ricky Nattiel, who was also 5'9", about the same weight.

Elway did very well with them.

Quick, tough guys who could get open very quickly.

I wouldn't discount the impact of Hawkins this coming season.

Obviously we'd love to have a big receiver, but I agree that you don't discount smaller guys just because they are small.

My sleeper WR for us is UDFA Chandler Jones ... a smallish receiver that makes plays.

Any comparison of now to 25 years ago to gauge the skill level of our team is Retarded. Compare our WR heights to those of recent, successful teams. Maybe you get the same result, maybe you don't, but at least its relevant (even if some think its not that important to begin with)

How tall did Seattle's WRs go last year? Harvin, Tate and Baldwin are all under six feet.

I am not sure that he will get a fair chance at competing for a roster spot since we have invested so much in Tate and West, but I think we might have a true diamond in the rough w/this guy. He could be another Adrain Foster, Terrell Davis, or Matt Forte. He has that kind of talent.

While I also think fellow undrafted players WR Chandler Jones, WR Willie Snead and QB Connor Shaw have excellent shots to make the roster, Crowell is the most talented of the group and arguably the most gifted of all the running backs in the 2014 class. Strong off field red flags left him undrafted, but if he stays motivated and clean, look out for the Cleveland backfield.

And I think Chandler Jones will contribute as a rookie. We did a very good job with the UDFAs.

Any truth to the Stephen Hill rumors? He has talent but he's another Little in terms of hands. We don't want to drop half of what Johnny throws.

Just get behind Johnny Football, folks. He's our guy and he loves the game. It's worth a shot ... even if it fails. People can think we should have done differently. That's cool. But this kid can potentially ignite the team and the fan base. I'd love to feel that energy again. Don't hate the fact that his old fans love him so much that they followed him here. Consider what that means. That's how likable the kid is when he's your guy. There will be more Browns fans now. Embrace it.

After all the QB play I've been forced to watch, I am freaking ecstatic about this. And c'mon, folks. We've had success with outside-the-box quarterbacks in the past. This is something to be enjoyed.

Green Bay just drafted three receivers and they already had a really good top three. I wonder what it would cost to get Jordy Nelson or maybe Jarret Boykin? No way they trade Cobb.

Is there a realistic move out there for a decent lead receiver? Denaruis Moore maybe?

Except I'd go one step further. Chandler Jones can end up being a big contributor right away. Good scouting report I found on him. He wasn't at the Combine, so people are sleeping on him a bit.

He played a lot at SJSU. He's not raw as some will assume.

Yeah, we have serious WR issues right now, but this kid is part of the good news. Check him out.

Now we just need to teach Little how to catch. Yeah right.
