Don't like JF then trade him to Chip and get your RT. He's never going to be the square peg fitting into the round hole anyway. I made this for the future, not this year. Way too late to change an entire O scheme.

And that Aggie will be the best OT available-better than either #2 overall Joeckel or #6 overall Matthews. Played RG when they were the OT's, moved to RT so Matthews would stay his senior year with a move to LT and this year moved to LT. Maybe some should pay attention to mock drafts before criticizing that recommendation.

rookie coach pettine with no experience with how to run an offense took an hometown poll and they chose "3 & out hoyer"....no touchdowns in preseason games equates to "earning it" in cleveland.....i see another 3- 5 win season....in other words, cleveland stays cleveland....hopefully they will trade manziel to a team who wants to win.....

perhaps if johnny had been given time with the ones from the beginning he'd be more prepared....as it is, he needs more time....that said...hoyer is terrible....his performance on the field...(remember when that used to be the yardstick) was much worse than manziel's, particularly given he had all the time with the ones....if the browns really "wanted the best chance to win"...they would start grossman, who's done a hell of a lot more in the nfl than hometown hoyer, they'd continue to bring manziel and shaw along as quickly as possible...and they'd trade the homey boy.....

Glad Hoyer got the nod, puts us in the best position to win game 1.

However I dont think alot of you are watching the same practice/preseason footage. Instead of going into a 3 page rant. Know that:

-Hoyer got the job simply because he can get the huddle to the line faster and more accurately (right now). He deserves that and its our best chance to win.

-Hoyer played better in practice. Johnny played BETTER in preason. Yes he got blitzed. No he didnt take weeden sacks. Yes he tried to throw hot receiver. Offense looks confused as a whole.

-Johnny isnt a bust... Yet (Personally, im pretty optimistic)He played pretty well for what he was expected to do. I think hes smart and has a good arm from what ive seen. He needs time to get it together, along with everyone else on the O.

-I expect if things dont go well (1-2 before bye or worse) we will see johnny week 5 or before the jags game when he should be able to competently call plays.

I just expect better thoughts/views out of this board sometimes instead of "yeah johnny clipboard bitch!" or "Hoyer looked so much better!. Watch the games, i dont want debate football with that guy who only watches the superbowl every year. Ya know?

well if you only talk to Super Bowl fans, you sure won't talk to anyone connected to the browns....

i guess going 3 and out on almost every possession and never scoring a touchdown is what passes for "earning it" in cleveland....but the homey's going to start, so all's good....

browns have another pathetic year with hoyer as quarterback....but homey says, "i know i suck on the field, but i really excel in the off-season....."

wait, you're a manziel fan right? why on earth do you want him starting this year? do you want to see ur guy get utterly killed? I like him too which is why I want him holding a fucking clipboard till December quite frankly. He's just getting around on the playbook...it'll be another few years before he has a handle on reading defense's. FFS. Yes Hoyer isn't gonna do a whole lot better but at least he can see what's coming and try to get his o line in the right place for it. Johnny will get blindsided if he starts now.

the best move for the browns would be to start rex grossman, and continue to develop manziel and shaw....i'd cut home town hoyer....he's played like shit....

i guess going 3 and out all the time and scoring zero touchdowns is what the browns' management calls "earning it."

only a moron like pettine would be upset over this.....i guess browns fans never played sports.....trash talking goes on from little league on up......maybe pettine saw this as an excuse to give homey hoyer the job.....he sure as hell didn't earn it......

what ever happened to the "you got to earn it" bullshit pettine was blowing up our ass..."3 and out" hoyer didn't earn anything but the bench....but the homey is starting.....pettine is an idiot with no experience with an offense...that's what's painfully obvious.....i guess if you grew up in cleveland, you've "earned it"....pathetic....

Anyone else getting that Vibe from Haslam, Farmer, & Pettine?

I can guarantee knowing what they know now with all the off field stories, the abysmal Monday Night game, media frenzy, and all the hype they wouldn't of drafted him. I bet they would have stayed pat at 26 and taken Bridgewater or Carr. I don't know why, I'm just getting that vibe.

i'm sure manziel regrets ever going to cleveland and that dysfunctional franchise called the browns.....

At last

@Browns: BREAKING: Brian Hoyer to lead Browns, named starting quarterback.

kiss the season goodbye.....homey hoyer ain't got it in him...we've seen that in 2 preseason games.....it's only going to get worse.....

please trade manziel...preferably to the cowboys....please....he doesn't deserve to play for such a dysfunctional franchise.....let the browns keep their home town homey hoyer......i'm sure they'll do great...laugh laugh....!!

just trade manziel, please.....pettine's an idiot and shanahan's not a lot better....there's a reason he flamed out in dc....

the browns is such a dysfunctional organization.....the best thing for manziel is to get the hell out of there as soon as possible......let them keep hoyer, the home town sweet heart....the browns...mediocrity forever....!

hoyer screwed the pooch monday night and for that he gets named starter.....is pettine nuts....of course he's only the hc because no one else wanted to be associated with such a lousy team...don't blame them....

he sure earned it....not....hoyer sucks.....now the browns get to lose their first three games......

so you reward the hometown sweetheart who played like shit.....oh yeah, that makes sense....

start rex grossman, trade hoyer....let manziel develop, keep shaw....

based on hoyer's performance so far, i'd start grossman and let johnny continue to learn the offense.....hoyer sucks....grossman knows how to play.....neither hoyer or manziel do...manziel might in another month or so.....let rex lead the team......trade hoyer....keep shaw.....

anyone else think that maybe pettine isn't up to the job...all he knows is defense....that's probably where he belongs....not head coach......he basically got the job because no one else wanted it.....

Hoyer should Start without having to look over his shoulder prematurly. (Which he has been doing from the start of camp). Take away all the dropped passes by WRs for both QBs and this "compitition" isnt even close. I watch Redskins 2nd string wrs do 360's on the dead run to catch a ball thrown way behind them, as well as the ones that hit them in the numbers.

When Hoyer came in the second time last night after the 2nd pick. He hit Gordon in stride in the numbers with one guy to beat for a TD or at least to be on the doorstep. (Dropped) And then Hawkins drops an easy TD pass. And dont give me shit about it was behind him. Thats a Fucking Loser Statement. That throw was only where he could caught it we paid him decent money to make those catches. ( Every throw isnt going to be on a TEE)

Hoyers inaccuarcies are less than that of JF and thats just a fact.

all i've heard is how hoyer has 6 years under his belt, hoyer was starting last year..., hoyer should start this year....blah blah blah.....hoyer stunk up the joint last night.....stunk the first game too.....and he's had all the advantages that go with getting most of the first team reps.....hoyer has proven he isn't up to it.....and that's just a fact...!!!
