If vaccination can save one life that otherwise would have died, shouldn’t we get vaccinated? God, for a Christian society that should be a no-brainer.

I’ll keep this as simple as possible. Science/Medicine has proven that vaccination reduces the spread of the disease. A true American/Christian would do everything on their power to protect another person. The vaccination is part of that protection.

The vaccine doesn’t stop the spread of the virus. It mitigates the potential for dangerous side effects from contracting Covid.
Everyone in a room could be vaccinated, asymptomatic carriers who become the chemistry set that creates the next strand of Covid that chugs along infecting more people. The framing for wanting people to get it should be based around mitigating individual health side effects and not that it can stop the spread. The barn door is already open so that is over in terms of stopping that.

I can tell you that there are multiple units in all 3 of the major hospitals in Cleveland that are short staffed right now - nursing and all other ancillary staff (kitchen, janitors, etc). You can make more at McDonalds flipping burgers than you can as a medical assistant shoveling shit out of patient beds. I suspect that my capacity to deliver inpatient care will be affected when Uncle Sam says the admins have to fire these people now or face massive fines.

These companies pressing for this will soon find that the labor pool is a step in that whole making profits process. Running off or canning a good deal of your work force is a great way to lose that extra yacht.
