Happy Holidays from Brandon

I saw earlier this week that the November unemployment was at 4.2% lowest since the Vietnam era.
Now a lot of factors go into these boring statistics but not bad.
THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — NOVEMBER 2021
Total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 210,000 in November, and the unemployment rate fell by
0.4 percentage point to 4.2 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Notable job gains
occurred in professional and business services, transportation and warehousing, construction, and
manufacturing. Employment in retail trade declined over the month. -

Great time if you're qualified and ready. Great time for the trades. Even great time for entry level jobs they're in bidding wars for them.

But for the consumer? Well not so much.
And because shity workers are getting paid more than they're actually worth there's more and more incentive to replace them with robots.
Again though it's an ill wind indeed that blows no one any good.

President Biden's Economic Performance Has Proved Unbeatable - Bloomberg
U.S. financial markets are outperforming the world by the biggest margin in the 21st century, and with good reason: America’s economy improved more in Joe Biden's first 12 months than any president during the past 50 years notwithstanding the contrary media narrative contributing to dour public opinion.
Exceptional returns from dollar-denominated assets, especially the S&P 500 Index in both absolute terms and relative to its global counterparts, can be attributed to record-low debt ratios enabling companies to reap the biggest profit margins since 1950. Corporate America is booming because the Biden administration's Covid-19 vaccination programs and $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan reduced the jobless rate to 4.2% in November from 6.2% in February, continuing an unprecedented rate of decline during the Covid-19 pandemic.
All of which makes Biden's first year in the White House the standout among the seven previous presidents, based on 10 market and economic indicators given equal weight. According to data compiled by Bloomberg, no one comes close to matching Biden's combination of No. 1 and No. 2 rankings for each of the measures:
- Gross domestic product (1)
- Profit growth (1)
- S&P 500 performance (2)
- Consumer credit (1)
- Non-farm payrolls (2)
- Manufacturing jobs (2)
- Business productivity (2)
- Dollar appreciation (2)
- S&P 500 relative performance (2)

You left out the fact that inflation is running at a 42 year high.
You Biden nut swingers are funny.

Why is it more than they're worth? If companies will pay them that amount then isn't that their worth?
Consumers are generally workers. Things may cost more but workers are being paid more. And if an employer isn't paying more you'll see labor shift from that business over time.
Automation is coming. Decades from now we're looking at a need for Universal Basic Income. Right now it isn't nearly as easy to automate as you're making it sound.

There’s already Universal Basic Income Pecker, it’s called “Public Assistance” (aka welfare).

they become more than they are worth when their jobs are eliminated. It's pretty simple Woody.

but not nearly as difficult as some would like to make it seem. Some people might see a world we're almost nobody needs to do anything except stay home and wait for that check and think that's a positive step for society and Mankind.

I would wager I have a better idea of what's involved than you do. It isn't so straightforward. And even at the rate we're pushing automation now, there's still plenty of jobs. Long term we do probably get to a point where there aren't enough jobs to go around, at least lower skilled jobs. I'm fine with there being some stipend as a result, because that's better than an ever increasing wealth gap..
And sure, if they get eliminated then they get eliminated. But that's not what's happening. There's a bidding war for workers. They're being paid more because that's where the market values those workers.

oh well we've gotten to the point where you are just being bickersome. I would bet it will have the exact opposite effect even if I gave a s*** about the wealth gap.
And sure, if they get eliminated then they get eliminated. But that's not what's happening.
it's exactly what's happening. Businesses are doing everything they can and looking for more and more ways to bypass workers. Once they learn to do that better and more efficiently those lazy bastards will be completely worthless. Especially if people like you are insisting on giving them a salary for doing nothing.
There's a bidding war for workers. They're being paid more because that's where the market values those workers.
and that bidding war assures that people with less and less skills will be making more and more money until they are eventually eliminated. How long do you think it will be before completely useless carbon units become upset because somebody else might be getting a little bit more welfare than they are?
And with nothing else to do to take up their time than watch television and collect a check well you understand even though I'm sure you've got reason that's a positive, millions of people with absolutely no purpose versus a small percentage who work to pass out the benefits. Do you think that sounds like a bright future? Frankly I don't think you do believe that but since it's me you're going to take the other side.
Of course I'll be dead probably or at least maybe you will too. As far as history? We barely understand our parents struggles let alone our grandparents. The Eloi never knew there was any kind of world without Morlocks. People born in Venezuela today I have absolutely no memory of when it was a great and prosperous country. Life rolls on.

Or you could just look at the numbers. But I know your feelings are more important than the numbers.

haha look at the numbers?
ever heard the phrase -born on 3rd base but thought he hit a triple?
thats biden reaping good job numbers from an economy shut down in Trumps admin
when job creation and economic times were at the strongest point in US history.
thats pretty obvious...
But farted out in news like the bloomberg report with no mention against inflation (WSS and Canton Dawg points out}
the feelings part are real (mine are at the gas pump)
another example here with the liberal college kids (polled) do not like the loan payback restart in Jan 2022 .
More specifically, young leftists have gotten so radical they believe voting is only perpetuating an oppressive system, and moderates might be frustrated with how inflation is financially impacting their early adulthood.
biden sure doesnt have alot going for him, but lets call out what the media directive is -
