Watson Suspended for 11 Games and Fined $5 Million / and a bit OT and back.

This next episode of inside the NFL on HBO hits the screen on Tuesday. Soledad O'Brien talks to some of the victims / lying whores (depending on your point of view) should be interesting for those of you who have premium channels. Not just porn hub.

Factually, the delay of these preposterous civil suits well into 2023 will likely result in DW being able to play the entire '22-23 season.
That was my immediate reaction also. But I slowly remembered how much commissioner GoToHell enjoys suspending people.

Steve, are you not aware the NFL said they are doing their own investigation of Watson/s actions up against the NFL Code of Conduct (regardless of courtroom outcomes)? Once complete, we will learn if there is a suspension and how long it will be.
According to this article, there are three possibilities
- The league could make its decision when its investigation is concluded
- Wait until there’s resolution in the lawsuits
- Levy a punishment with the caveat it could add further discipline if new information surfaces.
As much as I believe they would love to suspend, option 1 is a big can of worms liability wise. The criminal charges were thrown out by two separate grand juries, and those charges can never be brought again. That means DW is not just innocent, his innocence is bulletproof (it astonishes me that the US legal system then allows him to be sued for the very same charges in a different branch of the legal system. Seems like extortion to me, but I suppose that is a discussion for a different forum).
The point is: if they suspend him now, they are effectively suspending an innocent man, and risk influencing the ongoing legal proceedings. If Kaepernick had enough on the league to reach a settlement for preventing him to work, DW has a Howitzer pointed at them as it stands. The only way I see this happening is the suspension is so low (4 games or so) and the Leagues forgoes option 3, which would juicy enough for DW's representation and the Browns to accept it. Seems more likely the league waits to see the outcome of the lawsuits, and either dish out a lengthy suspension or none at all, depending on said outcome. -

Been to Curacao once for the Total Eclipse back in the 90s. took quite a liking to the Senior Curacao while I was down there. The authentic beverage has been hard to find of late up here in the States. Of course i get called a juicer here on the Board because I happen to like stuff like that.
One of our Tailgate traditions has been to do a shot of Orange Curacao before heading to the stadium for a game. Zombo affectionately calls it "The Orange Shit".

Gippers wife gave me his bottle from which the three remaining of us from the Browns TV games group raised a toast to him.
I think I still have the remainder. If so I will bring it to a tailgate.

We should be talking about OTA's and playoffs... Instead.. We're talking about some ass hats sexual behaviour.... LOL...

I'm betting on that Berry does not want the NFL to be waiting until June or July to decide on Watson-gate..
1.) Browns mandatory camp is June 14-16th..
2.) Most wanted remaining FA's.. Decide on a team around the 1st of June during OTA's, just prior to showing up to a Mandatory Camp..
Rumors say the Rams are chasing J. Clowney.. Clowney maybe waiting out, for a Watson-gate decision too ..

Crap! Nice weather. Super Bowl team.
Cleveland always has that 1st strike against them (weather) before getting to the bargaining table. A dome is required.
Or at least a retractable roof Stadium. Even though I enjoyed a lot of BROWNS and even more INDIANS games in the Ol' Muni.
And domes can be used for a lot of other events $$$ year round rain or shine. (Already 6 postponed Guardians games this year, May 22.)
But it never seemed to fly. Oh well.......

Haven't you heard that football is supposed to be played in cold crappy weather? It doesn't matter that college football seasons ended by Thanksgiving and the NFL championship was played in early December. I am not sure why the people in charge put bowl games in places like Pasadena, Mami, and New Orleans over places like Cleveland, Denver, and Boston?
I mean, football is supposed to be played in cold, miserable conditions, right? LOL

Nice to see one of very few Curaçao exports make it all the way to Ohio!
They seem to have a US distributor, but they are all they way in Cali
https://www.curacaoliqueur.com/where-to-buyI am quite particular about my alcoholic beverages: pilsner beer, strong red wine and a few classic cocktails like whiskey sour. May have to make an exception for some orange shit if I ever make it to a tailgate #lifegoals

Yes, because it was New York. Cleveland, Cincinnati, et all are not NY. And they were lucky with the weather. It could've been just about anything for weather in January. Of course, back when they were called Championship Games they were played at the home team's stadium (team with best record). But as was mentioned, those
super bowlschampionships were played in late December, not in today's February. -
Actually the earliest ever SB was January 9 in Pasadena, Rose Bowl..... nice cold weather site.

Now they are all in February and it's not just the game it's the overall logistics of SB Week, travel, hotels, and everything else.
Even a SB in a northern dome is a big gamble if there's a midwinter blizzard. Oh well probably will not be in.....
-
I just got heartburn from looking at this.
Also, is that Chesty Puller as your pic?
-
Yes it is.
