    Game 38 - Sunday May 22 -  DET (××-××) at CLE (××-××). First pitch 1:40 pm. TBD versus McKenzie (2-3)

    Saturday May 21 - postponed  !  The 6th at Progressive this season,  rescheduled July 14.

    CLEVELAND, Ohio — The threat of incoming inclement weather postponed another home game for the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday -- their sixth such postponement this season at Progressive Field.

    “And we’re in May,” Guardians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti said after the announcement.
     
    More than three hours before the scheduled 6:10 p.m. first pitch against the Detroit Tigers, Saturday’s game was called off with thunderstorms in the forecast. The game has been rescheduled for 7:10 p.m. on July 14, a mutual off day for both clubs. The Guardians and Tigers will play a four-game series from July 14-17 in Cleveland.

    Game 37 - Sunday May 22 - First pitch 1:40 pm.  DET (13-26) at CLE (17-19),  Faedo (0-1) versus Beiber (1-2). Play ball  !

    ..... currently in a weather delay......   it lasted 20+ minutes. 

    ...... 1-1 top 2.   Beiber gives up first run in the 1st.  TRIBE fewest games played in MLB. 

    ...... DET 4-2 top 9. Beiber 10Ks in 7, good after settling down early. 

    ...... DET 4-2 final.  Crap. DET gets the split.  

    But the grilled Norwegian Salmon and zucchini plus asparagus was delicious.   🙂

    Every once in awhile I like to check out where this young team is in the scope of things. 

    About as expected,  getting 6 rainouts at home has not helped the rhythm of the hitting.  Cleveland last in games played in MLB. Patience.  Start of May 23.

    Tonight they said that the Guardians are the youngest in MLB  plus younger than any AAA team,  that's amazing.  Not bad for an 18-20 team.   Thank goodness for Tito Franconia.

    Quantrill (1‐2) versus Javier (2-2) both RHP.  The rubber game of this series.

    0-0 top 3 and 4.  Tribe got out of a jam in 2nd and 3rd,  Javier 6 Ks in two innings !

    HOU  2-1  final.   Close but no cigar.  On to DET for 4, time to get back versus a much easier team.

    ...... DET 2-0 bottom 2.  DET trying to add on.  

    ...... 0-0 bottom 5.  And top 7.  Somebody has to want this game.

    ...... DET 4-3 final.  Miguel Cabrera gets the RBI in the 9th.   See you tomorrow.

    The Guardians are a season low 5L but they should be able to beat DET with Beiber starting.  Play ball  !   .... POSTPONDED  !

    DETROIT -- Friday’s game between the Guardians and Tigers at Comerica Park has been postponed. It will be made up as a split doubleheader on July 4 at Comerica Park.

    The first game will start at 1:10 p.m. with the second game scheduled for 6:40 p.m.

    Important game in Detroit tonight this young team has to end this slump and get that winning feeling again. 

    They have to beat the CIN, KC, DET teams in this game.

    ...... DET 1-0 top 5.  Not much action yet.  McKenzie still looks good. 

    ...... DET 2-0 top 7. Candelario PH-HR.  Tribe 0-4-0 so far. Now 2 on 1 out.

    ...... DET 2-1 final.  Ouch.  CLE 1-7-1 LOB 7.  DET 2-4-0  LOB 3. McKenzie was good again. 

    Now home versus KC  M-T-W....6-6-1....OFF TH.  See you then  !

    KC the second to worst W/L record only CIN is worse.  Time for some wins at home ?  Plesac is so due.

    ...... 1-1 bottom 5. Both teams 1-4-0.  2 out. WHOA !  Jose 2R HR now CLE 3-1

    ......  3-3 KC tied it in the 8th..  Time to score.  Plesac ND.

    ......  CLE 6-3 still bottom 8.  WHOA again  !    A 3R HR knocks the KC pitcher out.

    ...... CLE 7-3 to top 9.  Another run on an error.  Closer time.  Clase time.

    Game 45 - Tuesday May 31 -  KC (16-31) in CLE (20-24).  First pitch 6:10 pm ,  Lynch (2-3) versus  Quantrill (1-3). 

    ...... CLE 6-2 bottom 6. Make that 8-3 and still hitting. 

    ...... CLE 8-3 final. Pretty good clean game.  Still the youngest team in MLB by 2 years to PIT.

    Just a check of things after Game 45 (27.8% complete) this young team is hanging in there with less than 3/4 of the season left.

    I'm enjoying watching this is very much a young team that is learning to play and win.  It might be the formation of a good MLB team we'll see on that.
