I remembered Pat and the whole ET story and all of that.
I also remembered Pat's mother Mrs Bilon and the Hall across the street from the church and the CCD classes and other activities at the church.
And the absolute BEST pyrogies in Youngstown or anywhere loaded with the buttered onions..... Oh yeah !!!! And the fundraising activities to buy and build St Anne's church in Austintown, Ohio led by none other than Monsignor Adamyak ......and later not to be confused with Monsignor Dark Vader. When you were about 10 years old you knew when he was in the room.
Oh yeah Holy Trinity Church on Rayen Avenue year round especially in the cold snowy winters in the 1950s and 1960s, quite a memory growing up then. And I can just taste the pyrogies right now !!!

Now a piece of advice before the Bills warn the Browns to give their souls to God because their quitting asses belong to Buffalo for 60 minutes. That 60 minutes doesn't sound long until we watch the sum of overpaid knuckleheads refusing to join the efforts of Nick Chubb and a few others for a period of 3 hours. I used to joke I'm so slow it takes me 3 hours to watch 60 Minutes. The sad thing is that would make me the smartest guy in our secondary. Our 2 FO guys are from Harvard and they couldn't be more Legally Blind if they tried. Doesn't matter though; Haslam Jimmy has that same trust in them that Julius Caesar had in Brutus and Cassius. Since it's the Sunday before Thanksgiving, I'm holding out hope that Jesus takes the wheel from Legally Blind today and the players suddenly play like their are saving their alleged DREAM careers. That said, I probably have a better chance at winning the next lottery.

Let me see if I can summarize the younger, kinder, gentler Ghoolie. In between Sundays, he needed to make sure he committed enough sins to go to confession. That being the case, he gently took 1 lunchbox a day from another kid at the bus stop while politely rotating different kids on different days. Just so other kids didn't feel left out, he took lunch money from the richer kids to make the less fortunate feel more fortunate. We could use a few new The Browns Board members, that's the lifeblood of any Board or Forum.
And of course it's up to TBB Staff to encourage and monitor the growth and health of the board.
Now it would also help if our Cleveland Browns could put a good team on the field to keep things moving along.

You are right Flugs this is some epic stuff between heaven and earth alright. And a very ahhhh interesting sitcom indeed. Those were some very memorable days for those of us that were there for the late 50s and into the mid and late 60s when the new St. Anne's church in Austintown began mass in 1966. They also went on to have a very fine grades 1-8 school, (1966-2005). Holy Trinity certainly did grow. And now with the decline in population and schools in the valley did decline to just Holy Trinity and St Anne's churches now.
During the growth periods they still had the best pyrogies ever, some good festivals, Rose Lake, of course BINGO, and other church activities.
That indeed would be an interesting American sitcom.

Just for you Holy Trinity and St Anne's church historians here the church acquired the Rose Lake property in the 1960s and had the first mass in 1966 in which the parishioners were split a bit for territories. We had 5 boys 3 Holy Trinity and the youngest 2 were St Anne's which could be confusing.
Ironically and before I ever knew my wife she and her parents now went to St Anne's. When her dad retired from US Steel with 40 years in maintenance he became the janitor and super supreme handyman for 13 years at St Anne's. I also worked with him my last 6 years at USS as a maintenance foreman with him, an outstanding electrical, foreman. Yes I knew him BEFORE I ever met his youngest daughter all by coincidence.

Hi, I'm Fate. I applied a while back and waited a few weeks for approval. I assume you did an extensive background check and nobody found the bodies in the trunk.
Browns fan since birth / for life. Favorite past player -- Eric Metcalf. Favorite current player -- Nick Chubb. Grew up in East Cleveland. Former (un)professional chef and longtime restaurant owner.
I love the Browns.I hate the Steelers... much more than the Ravens.
I love good restaurants, especially classic independents.I hate pretentious restaurants with inflated prices and small portions.
I'm cool with everybody... black, white, gay, trans, etc...But... I go by the pronouns "fuck off" and "do I look like a sex change?" And if "they" don't like it, "it" can kiss my ass. ?
