If I did, what are you gonna do about it? That's what I thought.

Brownie is fine, just glad he was never put on the helmet. The end.

Are most Packers fans as annoying as you are, or are you a special case?

No one is forcing you to read my comments. Put me on ignore, like I am about to do to you.

Enjoy the season! I know I will!

  • I thought Aiden Robbins did well.  I hope we can get him onto the PS.

Woods II made a nice TD catch at the end.  Thrash catches the ball.

The new guy, Saylors, did pretty well running the ball.

NEXT UP, roster cuts.  And the cuts could start happening any time now......

I will be tuning in as well. Will get at least a quarter of the starters, minus Watson. Winston should be good enough to put up 14 on the Hawks D. A good showing would make the team have some positivity while preparing for the Cowboys.

And unfortunately the other game was still on until about 3 minutes left in the 1st Q.

Yeah, Saylors looked good as did Aiden Robbins.

I know a lot of people won't agree with this; but I think DTR should be the backup.  The more experience he gets the better he looks.

WRs - Woods II and Thrash were fun to watch as was Tillman.

I think it's a moot point anyway because Stef likes Winston and Berry might even trade DTR to be some other team's backup.  Your best hope is that we keep 3 QB's on the roster.  (it was Huntley that threw 3TD's and had a higher completion % last night....for what that's worth)

I like the way Tillman attacks the game.  I hope he can contribute strongly this season.

I didn't get to watch the game, actually I really didn't get to watch any of the preseason games this year.

I just remember how good he looked in last preseason too, and then was overmatched once he had to play in real games.

I'd still rather roll with Winston as the #2.

We really need a young WR to establish himself this season, as it appears Cooper's days are numbered here.

Here's our current WR's.  If we wind up rostering 3 QB's, is it possible to keep 7 WR's?

    Jerry Jeudy   3    WR    6-1    195    25    5    Alabama

    Amari Cooper   2    WR    6-1    211    30    10    Alabama

    Elijah Moore   8    WR    5-10    180    24    4    Mississippi

    Cedric Tillman   19    WR    6-3    215    24    2    Tennessee

    Jamari Thrash   80    WR    6-0    190    23    R    Louisville

    David Bell   18    WR    6-1    212    23    3    Purdue

    Michael Woods II   81    WR    6-1    204    24    2    Oklahoma

    James Proche II   11    WR    5-11    193    27    5    SMU

    Ahmarean Brown   87    WR    5-8    170    23    R    South Carolina

    Jaelon Darden   16    WR    5-8    175    25    3    North Texas

  • Michael Woods looked really good. Could Bell go on PUP?

Otherwise it doesn’t look like a spot for MWll

Me too about Tillman.  As for DTR, UNTIL the very last drive of the 2nd matchup vrs Pittsburgh last year - Pitts' defense was shutting down our running game and not yielding much vrs the pass in the 2nd half. The Browns were behind and DTR had to move them without much time remaining.  The margin of error remaining meant 1 mistake = losing the game.  He completed all the throws and escaped the pocket when he needed to in that come from behind victory.  That was ALOT different than finding out at the last minute on Sunday Morning (without any reps with the starters all week) - "Hey, you're starting today against Baltimore; and they're leading the league in sacks.  You got it covered - go get em kid!"

Onto this year, even though it's pre-season - he's making throws he couldn't make last year. For example, the deep TD pass to J Thrash.  Last year the deep throws sailed on him so I can see he's been working on his game.

I doubt we're gonna cut Winston; but I'd hate to prematurely lose DTR in a 2nd year showing promise worth keeping around while he develops further and gains more experience.  Living in the local television region of the TB Bucs, I've seen enough to know I worry about a guy that can throw 30 INTs in 1 season in spite of an excellent WR tandem like (Mike Evans & Chris Godwin). Some of those were pick 6s.

    Here's Winston's TD:INT ratios 2023 2:3, 2022 4:5, 2021 14:3, 2020 0:0, 2019 33:30, 2018 19:14, 2017 19:11, 2016 20:18, 2015 22:15.  The Bucs went 7-9 in that 2019 season.

While Winston brings veteran leadership - I don't think he's a better QB for this team than DTR is today.  I realize I'm not sporting popular opinion on this so it'll be interesting to see what pans out.  Here's my worry, if Winston is who I think he is and we decide Huntley is more experienced than DTR - we're only investing in band aids while the concern about Watson seems to be increasing.

For a team that started 5 different QBs last year - is it really such a bad idea to carry 3 QBs?  We only had 1 of our starting Tackles back practicing in training camp until Conklin finally got cleared to practice half a week ago.  And he's going to be expected to play a Left Tackle position he hasn't played but a few times in 2016 and 2017.  This is 7 years and 2 left knee injuries with surgical repairs later. Conklin wasn't born to be the next Joe Thomas; but he has proven he can be a good enough run blocker at Right Tackle to be named All Pro (before the wear and tear).  Last I heard Wills will come off the PUP list on Tuesday but he won't be practicing yet.  The good news is Dawand Jones is returning to the RT position he had success playing prior to his knee injury that required surgery.

IMO, the healthier our tackles stay at protecting the edges - the smaller the inventory of QBs that will be needed. We're walking a fine line here where careless planning could really hurt this team's chances. Here's an old my high school football coach used to love to remind us of: "if you fail to prepare; then prepare to fail."
