About a month ago the upstart Royals had finally caught the Guardians. For one day, they were tied for first place after winning the first three games of a four game series vs the Gs, and were up in the fourth game, about to take over first place, when the Guardians rallied and salvaged a win, and first place.
Today, the Royals got hammered at home vs the Giants, allowing the Guardians to win the franchise's 12th American League Central Division championship.
