The firings have begun

Get back under the center. Invest in the OLine this off-season. Add another good TE to go with Njoku and run multi-TE sets. Use play-action. Draft a QB that Stefanski feels he can work with long-term in the mid-rounds as a legit backup at worst. Get Kirk Cousins to start next year. Scout 2026 Draft-eligible QBs.
As I was writing this, I'm watching ESPN. Rex Ryan was bitching about how Atlanta used Cousins this year. "People say he's done, he had a horrible year, well he's a great play-action, under the center QB.... which Atlanta never ran!" ?

Old vs new - these colleges QBs almost never play under center. It's got to be difficult to design an offense for 2 different types of QBs.

I'd be shocked.
For that to even be a chance in hell, DePodesta would have to be fired.
We can only hope!

How many more scapegoats can they keep firing while this guy believes numbers mean more than film explaining numbers? That was the fallout between John Dorsey and Depodicksuck.
Per Google, here's John Dorsey's walk in this league:
John Dorsey is a senior personnel executive for the Detroit Lions. He joined the Lions in 2021 and is currently in his fourth season with the team. Dorsey is known for his talent scouting skills and has worked for several NFL teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cleveland Browns:-
Kansas City Chiefs: Dorsey drafted Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, and Travis Kelce.
-
Cleveland Browns: Dorsey was the general manager for three years, adding talent like Baker Mayfield, Denzel Ward, and Nick Chubb.
-
Philadelphia Eagles: Dorsey spent 2020 as a consultant, helping with college and pro scouting.
Dorsey was a key contributor to the 2023 roster construction that helped the Lions to a 12-5 record.I'd welcome Dorsey back. I believe he did two stints in Green Bay.

? ? Me too AP! Truth be told - Berry may be great at 1 year band-aids. However, that doesn't build a team with a healthy salary cap when rookie contracts have salary cap restrictions. He's more comfortable with the 1 year contracts because they're proven players after another FO did all the research for these signees from their 1st contracts. This is a VERY important draft for the Browns; and a FO that is good at drafting is needed and necessary. No excuses!

I'd offer him whatever he wants! But consider the organizations. Green Bay has been a solid club for decades. Compare them to our organization. I'm not sure he would want to come back.
YAHTZEE!!! And for the 1 organization in the Motor City, Dorsey has been friendlier than Santa Claus to them and their fans.

Right, he basically got canned for having 2 strikes on him, not 3.
Bringing in OBJ, hiring Freddy Kitchens

This would be a lot of projection, with Stefanski working draft prospects out personally.
I also want a QB who can stand in the pocket and actually see over the LOS.

I also wonder if drafting Baker at the time was held against him.
Dorsey was fired immediately after the season ended that the guy he drafted #1 overall showed up to training camp fat and out of shape, and as someone on the coaching staff or front office described "It appears he never opened up the playbook all off-season." This lazy, entitled behavior was a big reason the 2019 season was torpedoed.

I think we'd all be okay with that!

Speaking of which, I think I read Rex Ryan is getting interviewed by the Jets.

So this is really happening?
? It looks like a strong possibility.
Back in college, any time I had a bad day I'd make sure I talked to this 1 guy that lived in the basement at our fraternity house because I knew his day was gonna be far worse. Never failed Dutch. I say that to say this - it's nice to know that the Jets and Bears are still around to remind us the outlook can always be worse. Not that I want Jimmy to keep the franchise down with that type of company.

The Bears used the #2 pick in 2017 on Mitch Trubisky, the #11 pick on Justin Fields in 2021 and the #1 pick on Caleb Williams in 2024.
Can you imagine if Williams flames out? ?

Fields played well for the Steelers this season. Caleb Williams looks legit but that offense is horrendous. OC needed to be fired.
Obviously being a high draft pick QB tends to land you on a shit team - something we know all too well.

I've heard Jets player publicly complaining and wanting out. To this teams credit we're not seeing that.

Justin Fields was the #11 overall pick four years ago, now can't beat out a QB the Broncos paid a ton of money not to be on their team.
