Like I said earlier, I'm fine with Sanders. His Daddy has to let go at some point.

I suppose there's been reports of the Cowboys being interested in Sanders. Jerry Jones might over do it with a trade offer, we will see.

Many within the Cleveland Browns fanbase do not like Shedeur Sanders, predominantly because of his dad and little to do with his play, but he may just be their ideal player in the 2025 NFL draft.

.......Sanders’ accuracy and ability to play in structure may just fit him in like a glove with head coach Kevin Stefanski.  ( I like a QB wants to play 'in structure' rather than one that goes off script at the drop of a hat )

PFF’s Jordan Plocher and Josh Liskiewitz agree. In their article pairing one prospect for each of the 32 NFL teams, it was Sanders who fell into the most ideal fit for the Browns. Here is what they had to say:

“Everyone in Cleveland would prefer to just sweep the whole Deshaun Watson experiment under the rug and move on. The Sheduer Sanders selection allows the team, the fans and the city to move on toward the future. Sanders is a highly accurate quarterback, as his 81.6 adjusted completion percentage ranked No.1 among FBS quarterbacks with an 8.0-yard average depth of target. Sanders is a multiple-year starter who should be able to start from the beginning of his career if Watson starts the season on the physically unable to perform list.”

There is no doubt that Sanders is the most accurate quarterback in the class, and by a comfortable margin. According to Daft on Draft’s Weighted On-Target Percentage metric, Sanders leads the class with a number of 73.26 percent. Going back to last year, this would have been the second-highest in last year’s class, behind only the likely NFL Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels.

--------  My 2 cents...He will go to the team with the #1 pick.

My business partner asked me a question when I was showing him the outline of my Milroe article - "Why Sanders?".

He has the highest floor in this draft. For me, it's that simple.  If you *have* to draft a QB, it's the sensible choice.   If the rest of the circus could be avoided, that sure would be a great bonus.

I think it has only happened three times: Michigan State (1967), Nebraska (1984) and Penn State (2000).

no, I'll arrange for all of us to draft our players.

    Go for it.

which, btw, I've drafted my own players in the past, a few times I won, but you have never had a team in the Brownsboard fantasy football leagues.

Join up, have a team, show us what you can do, it would be fun beating you.

I have drafted my own players for years - won at least once. But you have never had a team in the Brownsboard fantasy football leagues that I know of.

Do it. Show us what you got - we promise to draft our players, and it will be great fun beating you. Maybe one of the commishes can send you a link to make it easier.

Thanks.  But again, I'm good.  That time invested can be better spent elsewhere by me on other football projects.

OK, I just hope it isn't because you can't handle my team beating yours.

My #2 team did hit on hard times. Just a thought.

Let me ask your opinion here and there's no right or wrong answer.  If they did that, that means Justin Fields would be available (they were 4-2 when he was starting) should we sign him for the same kind of money he agreed to last year and then draft a mid round QB?

I don’t know if he would have success in this offense.  But I’d design an offense where he’s out of the pocket playing with reckless abandon and that’s easier to swallow if he’s not given a long term high dollar contract.

It is not a terrible option.

Every year that you don't have your intended QB of the future on your roster is just another wasted year.

You can draft the best edge rusher in the history of the game....but if you don't have a QB, you can't win.  And that great edge rusher is just going to want to leave your team.

Good points. I don't know how he'll do but the supply of QBs in this draft is kind of scary which means desperate teams will be reaching.

These were Justin Fields' stats in (2019) his 2nd to last season at Ohio State (the year before he led them to the National Championship game vrs Bama).  A ratio of 41 TD passes to 3 INTs tops anyone in this draft class.  But the next year that ratio dropped to 22:6 - but they made it the the BCS Championship Game.

    Passing
G Att Comp Pct. Yards Yards/Att TD Int Rating Att/G Yards/G
    14 354 238 67.2 3273 9.2 41 3 181.43 25.3 233.8

That was 2 years before he experience the same type of culture shock in Chicago that Caleb Williams would later experience.

I'm only bringing Fields up as a potential veteran FA veteran while the Browns plan to draft a rookie QB somewhere.

He'd be better than most options I've seen.

Steelers really going after Sanders after they tried getting Stafford though?

I know we need a QB but even the best qb isn't going to win when everyone around him can't do their part.

I still like the idea of getting the best trench guys we can and finding a competent enough qb until someone good comes along.

The absolute last thing I would want is for Justin Fields to try and play in the Stefanski offense, or for Stefanski to try again to change everything for his RPO QB.

I'm actually shocked that people can watch what just happened with this team to only want to go out and do it immediately again.

Fields played in a run-heavy offense with elements of the QB centric run sprinkled in similar to some of the designs I broke down when Brissett was our starting QB.

To say that Fields and Watson are one in the same is short-sighted.
