For the haters

The Browns Board
521 23 9.9k 1
  •  It's not that I can't stand Taylor Swift, I can't stand the Swifties.  They make her, and by extension her music, absolutely insufferable.

It's the same way with Baker.  It's the same way with Shedeur.

Neither QB can lose, in the mind of their cult members,  and you see the parallels.

If they win ---> it's their individual greatness.

If they lose ----> coaches fault, others players fault, not enough talent around them.  My personal favorite ---> "scheme".  Which, when you ask anyone to detail, they get mad. Because they can't.

I spent good money to go watch Baker and the Brownies every year. I was there chanting his name against the Bengals for the last home game in 2018.

I was there, opening day 2019 watching him rip passes into the Titans 2nd level defenders and not holding DBs with his eyes.

I was there in 2021, freezing my shit off against Baltimore and screaming when the defense was on the field.

NOBODY on this board hates Baker. Saying dumb shit like this has always been a pathetic attempt to dismiss legitimate criticism of his play by those who have odd fixations on people they've never met.  Just like anyone or anything else? Your favorite football player? He does no wrong.   Your favorite politician?  Sinless.    Your favorite musician? The best to ever do it.

The first rule of any cult is to believe that anyone and everyone else is lying to you when reasonable question and critique is brought up re: the cult diety.

You have members of this board, including the chaunce that owns it, who show up to troll their own fan base every so often, especially after a loss, wildly disproportionate to anything constructive they could have offered at any point since the start of the 2022 season.   And THAT, is what irks people.

TL;DR.  If you find yourself popping on this board to smoke Bakers pole and little else, then you're the football equivalent of a Swiftie.  You're a high school cheerleader and should be regarded as such.

    Missed 3rd down conversion.

    TB2.thumb.jpg.08532658a5ce876a706c8a95fc4439b8.jpg

Bailing early from a clean pocket.    Look familiar, huh?

Coaches tell Baker he missed the earlier 3rd down conversion above.  So let's set a rub route and give him a wide open, easy conversion with YAC just like before.

He didn't take this throw and this wasn't a conversion.

    TB6.thumb.jpg.d76db07cbd11059d26f98d49fd3a6226.jpg

4th down, down two scores.  We're going to setup X follow, it's an in to out read, 1 to 2.   Gotta have it.

Does Baker deliver?  Negative.  Does he see it? absolutely.

    TB1.thumb.jpg.bb6796e9804ff9c5903edd94f3276f7d.jpg

Late 4th down, safety Voids the middle of the field on a post-wheel.  Baker locks into the wheel route and misses a WIDE OPEN post for a TD.

    TB4.thumb.jpg.67512e37d7e6af31b25baae31bbe7a73.jpg

Coaches tell him "Baker, you missed it. They're playing middle field open, throw the damn post" and they go right back to a similar concept.

Instead of stepping into the throw and just taking the contact, he fades back and gator arms this into a safety coming late out of the low hole....

    TB3.thumb.jpg.6a6f270e85acd818884379468729d221.jpg

That's a 27 yard throw he short armed still.   He was late and it was underthrown, the TD was there.

At worst the outlet option on 2nd and 8 was there.

    TB5.thumb.jpg.4d506a50f9bc524c1a2ad46e9a32f08d.jpg

Baker was leading the entire NFL in turnover worthy throws before playing Philly.   But that's Baker in a nutshell.  He'll rip it and you'll live with the consequences, be it good or bad.   Sometimes it's great, other times he digs an early hole and fights to get out, or makes the hole even deeper.

Culty Cal will swamp this board with Facebook links from FootballFucks.org, things from the most obscure parts of the internet, in anyway to make sure he doesn't have to admit that Baker can do no wrong and that it was everyone else who failed his deity.   Another example of manic behavior.

No Steve trolling, doubt you'll see him this week.

Remember, had the Baker Bros not started this thread, there would be no responses to it.  There would be nobody else that would have created a thread to a QB who hasn't been with CLE for 3.5 seasons just to trash him. Hasn't been so far, to my knowledge.    What you're seeing here isn't "hate"... it's annoyed fatigue.

edit: And for those who think this is "cherry picking"

3 missed 3rd downs would be almost 20% of the 3rd down attempts.

    2 of the 5 4th downs is 40%.

Both of those are statistically relevant and impactful when measured in percentages.

Well today by pure luck we walked into Bath Abbey and watched a free concert this woman keyboarding 4 sets of hand keyboards and two sets of footboards on the very deep and resonant organ. It was like watching Van Cliburn on piano, but a lot more intricate. Sliding back and forth to reach all the base footboards while fingers were up and down all the aboveboards was truly wonderful. Absolutely speelbinding and nothing to hate at all. So gifted.

You really want to witness an amazing Pianist.. Checkout Yuja Wang... Her point/counterpoint melody skills are off the charts.. Her interpretations of Rachmaninoff are completely stunning... Shes not only technically gifted.. She is very dynamic with emotion... It's amazing to watch and take in...

Bitchers/haters gonna bitch and hate. Have a nice day somewhere you won't be disagreed with Tiam. Evans was the only hope, and he ended up with a broken collarbone.

Man up, Shirley Tiam, the bucs have the same win loss record as the Lions, it was just a bad matchup this game for the Bucs.

The Bucs lead their division, the Lions don't.

Pretty sissified to only bitch at length about Baker this one game, and play stupid all the other great games. Need to grow up, Shirley Tiam.

If trying to change direction while being blocked, and seeing the offensive player moving from the spot is "sticking out his leg", sure....  You might want to watch in real speed rather than slow down, which is intentionally done in an effort to fit a narrative.

Again, why FB is only a source for nonsense.  The only thing FB should be used as reference of information for is what your 3rd cousin twice removed is up to.

Wonderful nickers. And since you are a guitarist, here is one of my all time favorites on classical guitar whom my wife and I had front row tickets to several decades ago, Christopher Parkening. At first we thought there might be two guitarist on something like this one.

Been a fan of his since I was 14-15 years old..I'm now 60.. Other guys I really liked was John Williams and Jorge Morel.. And naturally Andreas Segovia.

  • oh, boo hoo, boy who is afraid to play fantasy football, and won't talk about being, or not being, a "very tight end" in an lgbqlomnp college, and only bitches about Baker's bad game, after the whole offense imploded.

Looks like a whole lotta bitching and hating by you. ?  Speaking of Fantasy football - have you told our audience that you needed to use Yahoo Auto Draft for both of your Fantasy Football Teams you bragged about last year?  Tia understands the game; while you paraphrase media columnists that type what you want/need to hear.  He played the game before getting paid to coach it and summarize film. He's not here to cause trouble like you want to do. He can also disagree like an adult.   With you and Gorka trolling as often as you can - are you inviting me and others to start trolling the Poli Board?   We haven't been doing that at all; but if you're inviting us to do this - I'm pretty sure you'll have Steve on double-secret speed dial again in no time.  Once a Tattle Cal always a Tattle Cal.

Back to your nonsense, here's the crappiest division in the NFC that only has 1 team with enough talent to compete for 1st place - and they aren't exactly running away with it just yet. If you pay particular attention to the points for (PF) and points against (PA) the Bucs have been outscored.  The 2nd place team also has less PF than PA as does the 3rd and 4th placed team.  While the AFC North hasn't looked much better, if any; some teams are about to get key players back from injury to change this with 10 games left...
