Did yaz happen to notice Stef trying to minimize the use of his Special Teams at the end of the game?   We were right there in FG range...yet Stef punted.  I mean...the FG could've been blocked.  Even if the FG was good we'd have to kick off to them and tackle the guy with the ball.  🙂

    I can’t say I’ve ever seen a NFL team punt inside the opposing team’s 30 before ?

    Who ever practices that  punt?

  • It's super easy to root against a guy when the hype is absolutely out of control. I mean he did ok but Legendary? Legendary?

Well his number was retired in Colorado. ?

I do not recall any missed screen pass setup in the Jets game.

I am not trying to defend Gabriel.  I am simply pointing out that stats and stat comparisons in a vacuum (example: X number of passes to get to X number of passing yards), without context, can be very misleading

Agreed. But 30 more pass attempts to get 13 more yards is enough to say otherwise.

Regardless, I'm pumped to see how this offense looks this Sunday vs the 49ers.

That's the thing, it is not.  At least not when you factor in one playing being a 1ish yard pass which went 66.  Sanders stat line looks a whole lot different without Sampson taking that screen to thr house (and the great downfield blocking).  That said, Sanders showed ability and willingness to take deeper throws.  This is something Dillon has not shown.

SF will be a good challenge and litmus test.

Yeah because he missed his wide open receiver who would've taken it to the house in the Jets game I think.

Gabriel completely overthrew a WR screen against Jets which looked like it was gonna go for a huge play with blockers out in front.
Sure, he is lefty and had to turn around to make the pass. He also missed a short pass to Njoku against NE which was intercepted for almost 6.

Sanders ball placement looked effortless on short and deep throws.

Massive difference in poise and mechanics.

You're right, Gabriel missed a throw on a screen... badly.

But it's disingenuous to call an orbit motion to HB swing the same as a misdirection throwback off a bootleg.

Two differently blocked and timed plays.

Pooch punt.  Some QBs have practiced it.

Last one I can vividly remember with my autistic level recall is Tate Forcier vs Notre Dame in 2009.

I agree, The 2 plays were not equal… if DG didn’t miss, the end result would have been similar.
They were alike as they were both short throws with blockers out in front.

DG one day might be calm and ready.

I just don’t think that day is now.

And that helps open up the D by stretching them further than DG was doing.

Here you go, I remember watching this play and saying Shedeur would have made that pass

Maybe but both required a throw in the flat.

I would even think that throw to that side was easier for a lefty
