I watched some clips of folks talking about the Vietnam war back in the day. The number of regular citizens fully bought into the anti communism anti socialism red scare propaganda was alarming.

It's clear, that's you. You happily ate up whatever propaganda you were fed and now you aggressively base your beliefs on that and similar propaganda

    Hey asshole...

Ask all of those people in Eastern Europe who had their homes, churches.. and villages burned... Their Women and Children rapred and slaughtered all in the name of Communism and Socialism... That's not propaganda you stupid fuck... Take your stupid red scare bullshit and jam it up your faggot asshole you slimy dipshit!

Don't believe it?... Research it you weasel...

I didn’t create the term “outrage porn.” You can do a quick search and you’ll find something like this.

I have no interest in participating in it. I know full well there’s some awful shit in the world and l get the jolt people get consuming it, but l find it disgusting.

It’s clearly taken off with social media and you can likely connect the dots on how it affects discourse, and not for the better.

The message you and Woody are sending is rather than own up to the political violence and rhetoric your side dominates, it’s more comfortable to sweep it under the rug of “political outrage porn”. Nothing to see here.

What you’re missing from Tim Kreider, the author who coined the phrase…

"I'm not saying that all outrage is inherently irrational...outrage is healthy to the extent that it causes us to act against injustice."[3]

The murder of Charlie Kirk merits outrage. You cannot sensationalize murder and violence no more than you can make water  wetter.

You may point the finger of political outrage porn at other headlines , but not this. The media does it all the time.

Not necessarily. Plenty of things merit outrage on their own. It’s fine to acknowledge it. However, outrage porn manipulates and amplifies those feelings of anger and indignation. These are generally already the worst things in the world being amplified and for the most part we all know right from wrong. There’s really no need to amplify any of it. It’s manipulative. If you pay attention you can see what it does to people.

Thanks for bringing up Charlie Kirk. His killer, Tyler Robinson, fair chance he was influenced by outrage porn. The guy led a heavily online life. I would wager outrage porn affects younger people more than us old folks. Here’s an article about it. He was clearly moved to act against what he saw as injustice. I think we’d agree it was an ugly outcome.

Right, l used the term because you and a couple others here are consumers of outrage porn. You can see the psychological effects it has on its consumers and l think it’s disgusting. That’s me being honest.

It’s probably better we don’t have a lot of people from the other side posting it here because then this place would become even grosser than it already is.

You can decide for yourself if you truly want nuanced and intellectual debate or if you want outrage porn.

You have no idea what I am a consumer of.

Sorry you seem to think posting facts and exposing the left for the shit they are is something you feel the need to label, even though you don't like when people label things.

Dude, you share a lot of outrage porn. Is this one of those times you don’t actually understand what you’re debating against? Facts can be sprinkled in with outrage porn. They’re not mutually exclusive.

Democrats really have become a cesspool

For you less outrage porn addicted individuals, here’s a version of this that invites honest dialogue. I’ll start with the bill itself, and l’ll post a handy dandy AI synopsis of what it’s all about for you short attention spanners out there.

    https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bills/94/2026/0/HF/5140/versions/0/

It’s probably fair to point out that this has nothing to do with Pennsylvania, but that’s sort of what outrage porn does to someone’s psyche, and we’ll trudge on.

Yes, there are constituents and therefore representatives who are all for gun control. If l had a loved one who was a victim of gun violence l might be one of them. Thankfully that’s not the case for me, but if you are l get it and l respect your position.

I grew up in a fairly rural part of Ohio. There were dude’s who had gun racks in trucks with guns right there in the parking lot of my high school. We all carried pocket knives and all of this was normal and l still carry a pocket knife to this day.

I’m not a gun guy though, but l might be the most pro 2nd amendment non-gun owner you ever met. I think we the people should have tanks and stealth bombers, in the hands of our well regulated militia of course. The spirit of the second amendment is that we should be able to go toe to toe with our govt if push comes to shove, and we are very far from that.

    All bs, however.

Sticking with the intent of this thread, I showed a democrat screaming out violent rhetoric simply because they didn't get their way, which is typical of the lefts responses.

Again, some people can't comprehend getting the truth out there and exposing terrible ideas and such from the left is not outrage porn because they don't have any other way to defend what they support.

If you want to debate gun laws start a new thread instead of misleading what was being posted, which again, was more democratic violent outbursts.

Regardless, you just had the opportunity to debate the actual legislation in MN, and whether you’re for or against it and why. You completely bypassed all of that and went straight for a word salad.

Are you interested in honest debate or not? We likely align here but you’re too fucked up to even realize that.
