It's Fantasy Football, just in a different format. You can have free leagues just as you'd have fee leagues.

The dollar values, like the screenshots I posted above, are purely a simulated, "stock market like" type of presentation. It functions as users can "buy" shares of a player out of a pre-determined IPO pool.

There's no actual money being exchanged (apart from league fees)

Fantasy Football has been around for 30 years now.

I should've added 'Just Saying' to my comment. I've been in many fantasy football leagues. And I've run my share of them. As a matter of fact, I've run a little Yahoo league for the last couple of years for my young grandsons to be part of....along with Mrs. Wife, their Mom and her boyfriend (we hate her ex husband...but the boys think of him as daddy) 😞

I should've clarified that I've got no beef with fantasy football. But truly dislike all of the gambling around sports that there is in this day and age.

I had no idea I'd lose a mouthful of coffee when I started reading this reply, but it was worth it... I've been in the same 12 man league since 2004 that started in Rochester, NY; and continued on as we've scattered all over the country. We still have 7 or 8 of the original guys using the Yahoo scoing system with PPR and vaious bonuses for rushing/receiving yardages exceeding 100 yards in a game or anyone exceeding 300 passing yards in a game. 6 points per TD. 1 guy that teaches an honors course for a high school out in CA pays for a team and lets 2 or 3 kids run his roster (and he also let's them split the winnings). They're always 1 of the 4 teams that earn 1 of the 4 playoff spots lately. JMO, I don't think he's teaching them to gamble since it's his money paying for it.

We all have a competitive side in here or we wouldn't be here rooting like crazy for celebrating and sharing our 1st sports miracle together since 1964. On the merciful side of all this, many of us have favorite college and/or high school football teams that have been capable of winning Championships much more recently. If that ain't working - YES, there's fantasy football. If you DO play Fantasy Football - don't be that sissy that let's Yahoo auto-draft your team every year...

Well done TJ! I've been a critic of his too! I don't see him as an NFL Franchise QB. The things he should be most consistent and efficient with - he hasn't been the times I've seen him. Oregon outclasses a lot of their opponents to the extent even a guy like Dillon Gabriel can put up eye catching stats at the ease of a layup with that adavantage. He needs a lot more work on what he does from the point he gets the snap until the time he releases the throw; because it was a flippin mess. He put the ball on the ground during playaction fakes sometimes without any defender causing it too much for comfort.

This may be a moot point because Oregon is in the shot-gun a high pecentage of the time. That being the case you know what I didn't pay any attention to TJ - that you might have? At any/all direct snaps under Center, how often does Dante Moore open to his right? Or, to his left? And does one of those have a much bigger influence in the sloppiness he needs to clean up in play-action?

I only have a handful of games all-22 for Moore. No snaps under center (yet) I'll post more as I find it.

I know @flugel mentioned something like a 'cut down' content series to go over more fundamental stuff for fans.

Thanks TJ! Great example of an effective playcall against a talented Front known to produce 1st round draft picks at DT. The Eagles landed 2 of them in successive drafts. When you play someone like that - your margin of error already walks a very thin tight rope so in your example take what is given/least of all evils. They moved the stix doing so.

  • @dutch-oven

You asked why Mensah is falling down my board. Long winded, but this might help.

  • First camp in the books. I'll be back tomorrow, and then another couple dates next week (unless I snag tickets for Friday)

The big stuff you're probably wanting to know.

  • Not sure why, but I've ignored short form content on Youtube & Facebook until the last few days.

    That will change moving forward.

So for those of you that aren't about twitter, but you have Facebook and/or YouTube, by all means, give a follow/subscribe.

Sorry, didn't post these earlier. Thoughts from Game 1.

The play was designed to go to Corely. That's where Sheduer was focused. It's supposed to be a timing throw. The problem was Corely ran right up to the defender. The receiver has to button-hook that before he gets into the defender's lap so there's a little space to fit the ball in.

    Button Hook

So the play design is to the trips side. Something I'd prefer Shedeur, along with a lot of young QBs, to challenge themselves to work progressions over there more. Too often these young QBs, my biggest knock was on Dart last year, think they get 1 on 1 to the X and just rip it.

The result is very boom or bust.

The matchup side, the "solo" side is Corley. QBs can be given some freedom in pre-snap adjustments to their X. Based on the level of trust & coaching staff.

    But let's use your strategy.

    Screenshot_20260819_224933_Chrome~2.jpg

This was when Corley began his break. If he "button hooks" even solner than that, you're looking at being, bare minimum, 2 yards short of the sticks. Meaning he has to catch and create YAC on a hitch.

It's just not a prudent formula to success unless we're throwing to Steve Smith.

The corners, much like what we saw a lot last year, are sitting either +2-3 or "heavy" at the chains.

Corley did a fairly reasonable job working back to his inside shoulder, then getting back to an outside shoulder throw. The placement by Shedeur, to the outside, is correct.

But this pic is also proof that the timing is the issue. Shedeur should be in his throwing motion by this point - he isn't. So the two factors that compose the bulk of throw success, timing and placement, only had one met.

Yup, but running into the lap of the defender means no yards at all. The defender knows where the sticks are too. There was a favorable man to man situation there but the receiver didn't create any space. Would've been awfully risky to let that one fly earlier. Obviously Sanders and Corley don't have the pattern timing down pat. - 1st preseason game.

There are two ways to create space in this instance.

    • Break well before the DB, short of the sticks.

    • Eat Cushion, try to get the DB to open and/or get into his chest and disengage off that leverage.

You're saying the 1st one is a no go.

But you're saying the WR can't use the 2nd to create space on a hitch. This 2nd one is how we've been watching Denzel Boston create separation on the hitch all of camp.

We're going to just have to disagree with this one. Sure, it isn't Boston, but the timing is poor on a throw that is SBS.
