It'll certainly be easy if the Browns start 0-2 on the road which almost seems inevitable. None of the sports talk shows can believe this decision. We're Cleveland Browns fans so if it's outageous - we been there. Done that! Rinsed and repeated and repeated and repeated.

I believe what some of the talking heads are saying, that is Watson will be on a very short leash.

If he shits to bed and we roll into the home opener at 0-2 I highly expect Sanders to be the starter.

If he plays above mediocre to about average, he'll still be the starter even if we are 0-2.

I agree. There is only the first 2 games to prove it. The NFL did us a solid with the schedule.

I believe the offense will be night and day different from what we've become accustomed to.

We already know what this defense is like.

I don't know that we really that. Our pass rush is going to be a shadow of what it was.

Modern medicine still has a long way to go for us to see the day the Browns succeed. 🙂

I'm being totally serious when I say that I tell my grandson ALL THE TIME to become a medical research scientist. And I swear that he's smart enough to become one....even though right now he wants to be a pilot. And of course I tell him that that's a cool profession....and that what Papa wants most is for him to be a good person.

I literally cannot think of a worst time in history to be a medical research scientist in this country.

I am a research medical scientist with an h index>40. There is never a god time but Trump will not make it any worse

I think we have a better chance of seeing Lake Erie being re-named Lake America Jr...

It will be a Garrett-less pass rush. Do not underestimate the rest of that defense.

Complimentary football is a beautiful thing.

Our DLine and CB depth is scary thin.

A few select injuries could cause this defense to become very pedestrian.

I'm predicting a pedestrian year for our D. I don't think the impact that Garrett had on our D is being taken into the equation correctly. We won 2 games to division rivals at the end of last season because of Myles Garrett. And he only had ONE sack in those two games. Just his mere presence on one side of the LOS had those 2 QB's running scared in the other direction. Opposing coaches game plan all week on him.

[ Now, I'm going to say this about Myles: As the season wore on he changed his game plan. Each snap was all about him getting a sack. If it was a run to the opposite side, he just kind of jogged (if that) in pursuit. Keeping himself fresh for his next 'get-off' at the next snap. You could run the ball right up underneath him because he's got his ears pinned back and he's going upfield. ]

And losing Alex Wright is a big loss at DE. We've been without him before, but this year we really needed him. I don't think we'll be a top 10 D...even though we have some good pieces.

You don't think the NFL record breaker for sacks is properly being accounted for?? I guess that makes sense. I just see it different.

Mason Graham and Maleik Collins make for a stud interior DL. Graham has barely scratched the surface and this defense could not stop the run once Collins got hurt..

Insert a young talented Jared Verse. McGuire showed flashes, entering year 4 now. I'll stay on the glass half full side.(Alex Wright had 6.5 sacks over last 2 seasons)

Away from the D-Line, young players like McNeil-Warren(fumble forcing machine) to combine with Delpit...and Hickman aka Pickman.

A nasty injury bug on defense would likely take this defense out of the top 20. Healthy? LOTS of turnovers...

    Again, complimentary football.

The offense will hopefully be capable of scoring/winning the time of possession battle for once to allow the defense to stay off the field.

It looks that way, but you never know how it ends up playing out. We still have the possibility of trades and FA cuts might produce something. Sometimes someone else's junk turns into our treasure. Some teams end up with a glut of players at a position of our need. I wouldn't rule out a trade or two between now and Sunday afternoon as teams seek to salvage something for guys they might be forced to place on waivers.

Want to know where a lot of NIL donation $$ to Texas A&M comes from? Why the Aggie owner of Buc-ee's of course.??

The job of the HC is to play the players that give him the best chance to win. Unless a player is in a disciplinary situation.

So, Jackson must be saying that there's no chance that the former 1st round pick, pro bowl QB, Deshaun Watson, can possibly be better than the 5th round pick that nobody wanted. OR he's saying that Watson shouldn't play for disciplinary reasons regarding a press conference where he acknowledged that many Browns fans don't like him and he doesn't like them either. OR Lastly, he thinks that the midget or the olympian should be the starter.

Slap in the face? That's just not being helpful. What was Monken given as a QB room to work with? Watson. Shedufus, the midget and the olympian.

I'm going to say this 1 more time: This is a 60 yr old, 1st time HC who next weekend will be coaching in his 1st ever NFL game as a HC. You KNOW that he wants to win that 1st one. You can bet your bottom dollar that he'll be starting who HE THINKS are the players, at each position, that give him the best chance of winning.

This is an oxymoron: Winning with Watson in Cleveland
