Cool logo MassBrownfan. Don't think I have seen that one before.

  • I dont think the kid should be suspended. a teams defense should have a midset like he said...its not like the kid hurt jake out there so theres no need for him to sit out some games. i tell u what i wish our d had some head hunters like that...maybe then we would get some more respect around the league and teams fear us instead of laughing at us

I don't think he should be suspended either but I do think a fine is in order.

Also, there's a difference between having a "headhunter" mindset and trying to really rip the guys head off. Delhomme wasn't hurt but that doesn't negate the fact that Suh could have easily hurt him or ended his career with that bullshit move. I like the intensity but you don't twist someone's head around then throw him to the ground.

  • Im gunna have to say i LOVE heavy contact football, I LOVE big hits. but damn!, that was just uncalled for.

exactly! i think all of us browns fans love a rough and tough d, but not to the point where it's counter productive. there's no excuse for what suh did and his actions shouldn't be praised. this rookie has to learn to play within the the nfl's rules. his intentions were right, but his excecution was wrong. dude looked like he had freaking roid rage lol.

  • This is not the first time Suh has played the bully role. Those of you who saw the way he tackled McCoy in the Texas - Nebraska game last fall might remember what I am talking about. When I saw how he took down Delhomme down, I just thought, "I've seen this before."

For all the stuff that has been said about this incident, I was watching the NFL netwoerk tonight and saw the play again. I had not previously realized that the throw down came AFTER bpth of Delhomme's knees were on the ground. He actually threw Delhomme to the ground when Jake was in a kneeling position, having already been tackled by Suh.

Having seen the real extent of Suh's actions, I have how moved from being uneasy about Suh's actions to whatever has been done by the league is a mere pittance of what should have been done.

If Suh's action was out of bounds there are 100 actions every NFL Sunday that are out of bounds.

You girls need to get your panties out of your hoo hoo!

If there are so many that are this similar, then name some. If that's the case, isn't there headlines like the Suh/Delhomme incident all the time?

You talk like you're the man and know everything. Your smug attitude is lame and you aren't entitled to anything. But please, continue to post the panties phrase over and over. It's very original.

So you mean let's all wait until he HURTS someone before trying to show him defense doesn't mean "de-head"!

There may be 100 actions that are out of bounds. Not quite so blatant as that usually though.

The real question is: why are you getting your panties in a bunch defending him. The guy committed a personal foul, he got called for it. He may get called on the carpet again for it. Maybe not. So be it. If he continues that behavior the other NFL players will engage in what they call "self-corrective measures" by probably going for the dudes needs.

Again, why are you defending him. I said I like the guy and his atttitude, just that he can't take it overboard like he did here.

  • Detroit Lions rookie Ndamukong Suh fined $7,500 for slamming Browns QB Jake Delhomme

Mary Kay Cabot, The Plain Dealer

CLEVELAND -- Detroit Lions rookie defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh fined $7,500 for roughing Browns quarterback Jake Delhomme and then unnecessarily throwing him to the ground, an NFL spokesman said

Suh grabbed Delhomme's facemask, wrenched his neck and then threw him to the ground headfirst. He drew a 15-yard facemask penalty for the infraction and Delhomme went on to throw a TD pass two plays later.

Neither Detroit's Kyle Vanden Bosch or Cleveland David Viekune were fined for their roughing penalties.

Browns quarterback Seneca Wallace had said the move could've injured Delhomme and that he felt it warranted a suspension.

The penalty should have been more severe. It was just a down-right dirty play. Jake could have been seriously injured but I was glad to see him pop right up and not lay around on the ground for 15 minutes like todays athletes like to do. All of that being said I wish we had Suh!!

  • Strange. Should have been a suspension. Suh won't stop that crap for 7,500 bucks.
