The Browns Board

  • It has to be and will be jake. He is by all accounts the true leader of the team and wasnt looking bad at all the first half of the bucs game. Secondly he's holmgren choice at qb. There will be no QB controversy as long as holmgren is president, its just not the way he was taught the position by walsh.

And Walsh was taught by none other than Paul Brown.

  • I'd go with Wallace. Jake is not the future of this team. Wallace is younger and maybe he could be the future QB of this team if given the chance to start week in and week out.

    Either way....we're winning on Sunday.

I'm sorry, but a 30 year old qb is not the future of any team anywhere especially one that doesn't have any accuracy throwing down the sidelines. All Wallace and Delhomme are is stop gaps till we get our Qb that we want to groom, be that Colt McCoy or somebody else.

  • Seneca Wallace. He still has a good 3/4 years left and has good feet. If it was Jake out there in the Ravens game we would have more sacks and interceptions.

I didn't say he was the future of the team. I said he could be..he is 30..but he hasn't played a lot so he would be a young 30 as opposed to an old 35 like Jake. We know Jake isn't the future..he's got a year or two left maybe more if he sticks around as a back up like Brunnell. So why not let Wallace keep starting and see where it goes, its not like he's playing terrible.

  • I can't believe anyone is suggesting Delhomme should be given another opportunity. Based on what exactly? Every throw he made week one was off the mark with the exception of a few. The TD pass to Momass was terrible and if the defense had been worth a sh.it on that play it would have been picked. Delhomme wouldn't start for any other team in the NFL and he shouldn't start for the Browns. Yes he's that bad.

  • If delhomme is up to it he will get the start against the bungals...period, end of discussion...😉

  • Jake all the way.

  • I don't care who they choose to start as long as they stick with it and stop this Retarded ass QB carousel we've been on for the last 11 years....

Really!?! I guess we will never know. Im just sick of close calls I want wins. We lost 2 games in a row with Seneca. If Jack or Jake is ready to play then lets see what he can do.

Yeah, let's continue the QB carousel and it'll be a great ol time just like last year!

They've both put up the same amount of wins this season. So what's the difference?

Exactly what I was thinking. I don't care who we play as long as we win.

Put in Cribbs for all I care.

  • Jake if he is truely healthy. Regarding the 3rd and 3 call. We don't know what was called by the bench, it is very possible that the qb audibled out of a play for hillis and called the bomb

Actually here is a quote from another thread that indicates seneca did make the call and not dabol

With 4:05 to play and facing a third-and-2, however, Wallace decided not to try and pound the ball for a first down, or even attempt a short pass. Instead, he missed a long pass attempt to Josh Cribbs.

“Seneca liked the matchup and took a chance,” Mangini said. “It was not a bad decision, but we needed a better throw.”

  • Delhomme needs to come back. I'm disappointed in Seneca's play; Delhomme seemed to be

much better at finding open receivers, and getting them the ball quickly. He can also throw a freakin sideline pattern.

I don't hate Seneca, but I expected more out of him...

But, God forbid if Seneca or JD goes on IR, there is always the OLD guy... @@

Congratulations to Daunte Culpepper(notes), whose second game for the UFL’s Sacramento Mountain Lions on Saturday was a beauty: He completed 26-of-42 passes for 374 yards and three touchdowns in a come-from-behind victory over the Florida Tuskers, throwing the winning, 33-yard TD pass to Rod Windsor with 31 seconds remaining. Back in June, Culpepper told me a major reason for his decision to play in the fledgling league was so he could share the experience of being a starting quarterback with his five children. “For sure it is [special],” Culpepper reiterated Sunday, noting that his kids were among the estimated 20,000 fans at Hughes Stadium. Personally, I’d like to see this immensely talented player get a call from one of the NFL teams in search of quality QB play. Yes, I’m talking to you Chan Gailey, and Eric Mangini, and Jack Del Rio, and Ken Whisenhunt, and …

If we signed him instead of putting in Colt I would cry myself to sleep even more-so. This is going to be a ROUGH year.

Lets just pray we can make it through without any major injuries.

Already missing D'Qwell Jackson on what is prolly the last year he will be in Cleveland.
