MSW is absolutely not worth the effort. He completely disappeared last year.
Smith is far too old. Jackson is a head case.
Floyd/rice/holmes - perhaps.
There really isn't a quick fix available.. it's all about the draft.

I think that both Steve Smith's are available are they not? Let's not forget Plexiglass Burress either!

Yeah i think the draft may be the best way to go as well only problem is you know Cincy is gonna jump on AJ Green and i dont see us taking Julio at #6 even though i dont think its a terrible idea, but i wouldnt mind Holmes or someone else because i can see us ending up with I cant Catch Hankerson in the second round which would suck

It just goes to show that our organization really isn't going to try and progress rookies. You get as much time as deemed from the price of picking you up. Undrafted free agents need to perform right away (Benard) in order to stick around and picks as much time as deemed from the position they are picked in. Hell we trade away Wimblie last year who plays way better in a 4-3 (what are we running now) and we keep inviting Graham Harrell to training camp only to send him packing even though his skill sets are perfect for a back up QB, especially one in a WCO (accurate and good game manager).
The only reason Robiskie wasn't tossed to the wolves last year was because of the good training camp he had (must have been running routes against Eric Wright).

Well, a lot to choose from. In the best of scenarios I think one would want Sidney Rice and Santonio Holmes. I don't know if that would be possible though.

7 TD's and 33 First down catches in 43 total receptions. Disappeared? And he was hurt for 2 games.

you're basing this off of the previous regime's mistakes. how can you make a statement like this when both tj ward and joe haden got plenty of playing time? that's not letting them progress?
why don't we wait and see what holmgren, heckert and co. do instead of judging them based on the past actions of phil, romeo and co.?

I don't mean that they are going to sit rookies and then drop/trade them, I am saying players that take that 3-4 years to get good enough to become starters are shipped out because they are not producing right away. Obviously Haden and Ward are going to progress, because they came right out good enough to start and the same goes for McCoy, but most UFA's and late round picks the Browns get are dropped before their rookie year is up. Ya this is due to past regimes and I hope the new one stops it but since 1999 the only players who are with the team for a few years are the ones who are starting right off the bat and not progressing for a few years. The only player we picked up as a rookie that was given time to develop was Rubin.

James Jones seems like a likely choice. He has questionable hands at times but he has potential to be an absolute stud.
-
I like M. Floyds' size @ 6' 5", 225 lbs. He would be an excelllent weapon for a high powered passing offense. Hamstring problems could lower his cost for those teams looking to get a good value
on a player with some potential durability issues. His stats last three years are decent:

We should target the ones i put in red. There are some other decent choices in the list but I feel that a lot of them will be resigned (lance moore, breaston, clayton, ect). If we get one of those guys in red plus A.J. Green I think we will be looking good. We would have momass, cribbs, and robo for slot receivers and watson and evan moore as two good TE options to go along with free agent pickups and possibly Green. And If we can get two of the guys in red I think we can draft defensive front in the first round...

The only player we picked up as a rookie that was given time to develop was Rubin.since 99, the browns have never had experienced people like holmgren, heckert, etc. they've always had people in lesser positions that were under someone else who was successful. i just don't think the present regime, based off of their individual accomplishments, should even be brought up in such a conversation. i think they deserve to be judged based off of what they do. it's a wait and see type of thing for me and the past failures shouldn't even be thrown on them. jmo.
