My wife and I chose not to have our son done. I invite everyone on here to watch a video showing a helpless baby being circumcised and tell me they would still have it done to their son. We saw it and it's horrific. I don't know how anyone could make their son go through something so terrible. Who cares if he is going to remember it? I would remember the pain I put my child through.

Great post, and you're absolutely right, it's a Jewish custom, but then why do so many Americans have it done? Because they don't know why they're getting it done. Americans are mostly Christian, not Jewish. They just know that it's been going on for so long that they just decide to do it. Only recently have doctors begun speaking out against it. Good on you for choosing not to torture your child.

The housing industry is what caused this mess. The housing bubble. Now what does a store do if they have too much inventory? You reduce the price and sell it half off. I understand that there are people out there who didn't buy into the "I can own a $300,000 home while working at McDonalds" thing. There are some people who did. The banks need to reduce their inventory by selling these homes and existing foreclosed homes back to the current homeowner to refinance or sell the home at say 1/2 off. Now I would just do this for homes sitting in inventory say 1-2 years, etc.

I think some of these people need a second chance. The ones who had no control over their circumstances.

See why these fooking bankers need to do this, is because the US almost defaulted on the debt we absorbed from Fannie Fooks and Freddie Gay. $4 trillion dollars and now these fooks are making HUGE profits? Fook you. They need to be forced to do this. Yes, I know people here will say government has no reason to intervene in business, bullshit, they fooking made it their business when they helped these assholes out. Which was the right thing to do, they had no choice.

That is how you make the rich pay back. You think the government can just tax Buffit personally? No. You tax (I use that term lightly) an industry (banks, Fannie Fooks and Freddie Gay) that cannot move overseas, Real Estate. What the fook are they going to do? Pack up and go to India. Hell no.

We need to get people back to work, period. I could be off on my estimates here, but before the recession, 7% of the jobs in the US were construction related. If people are able to purchase homes, this could happen. With the reduced housing prices, real people could afford a house. Then real people could get back to work to buy those houses.

I like your efforts I disagree with your causes and a good bit of your solutions but I do agree with your intent and attempt.

First off, the housing bubble was a culmination of deficit spending and war mongering. The deficit spending was started by St Reagan, who has never been credited with the rushing America to broke. He started the fiasco. After Clinton attempted to fix the mess. Bush started a bunch of new messes. Under his regime we started two unfunded wars that cost us two trillion dollars so far! Under his realm we created incentives for corporations to move factories and profits overseas tax free which they have done in record numbers. Under his watch we created loan loss reserves minimums for banks from 10% to 1%. He decreed that everyone needed to own a home. The banks ran with those two bonehead ideas and made a loan available to anyone who could breathe to buy a house whether they could afford it or not. BOOM A HOUSING BUBBLE AND HUGE BUST destroying the majorirty of decent jobs not already sent overseas by the tax incentive to move factories overseas. Worse we lowered taxes while increasing spending to ungodly excess. So that is where we are. Further under Bush we nearly tripled the already bloated defense spending to where we are now. We have not ended the useless wars in Iraq and Afghan and defense spending about equals all of the rest of the world while we cannot beat a bunch of insurgents but do maintain 60 overseas bases

The fix. Raise taxes on the eltite. Create incentives to bring factories back to the US. Create funding for infrastructure projects. Increase the payments on SS and medicare to unlimited income. Rich people do not own corporations. That is why they are corporations because thousands of shareholders including indivduals, other corporations and nations and governments own them. Further, raising individual tax rates has nothing to do with factories and where they are. Corporate tax rates do however. What I proposed lowers corporate tax rates and eliminates the loopholes which now result in them allowing foreign profits to not be taxed penned in by the Bush Admin which is why corporations moved all the jobs overseas and use other loopholes to pay no taxes. I did suggest Obama create tax incentives to move factories back to the USA.

I will not answer your stupidity about Obama spending as Bush created the debt nigntmare and it was thrown over the fence to Obama in the face of an economy nearly in total collapse. Well, I don't think that churches should be able to own hundred of acres of land tax-free. Limit it to 25 acres tax free per parish or whatever. And churches involved in politics need to be taxed.

Why should they get anything tax free? You make a profit you pay taxes. I will concede that land a church is on up to five acres get a significant reduction in real estate tax. Everything over five get the same rate as other properties. On your other statement a lot of Church pastors speak out on politics regularly.

IMO: Their are some who despise the churches and would love to be able to control what comes from the pulpit. It is hard to control the masses when they dont control peoples thoughts or dont place our worldly leaders on a pedestal. Yeah, I'm with rich on this one. The reason churches aren't taxed isn't because of the First Amendment. By your logic, you could also make the argument that their tax exemption is unconstitutional.

I've been reading, but I'm not sure exactly where their tax exemption stems from. I don't think they have nonprofit 5013 status. From some of the stuff I've read it's just based on the assumption that any profit they turned would be for charitable works, but I haven't found any really unbiased sources that say that. I'd like to know the exact legal reason that they're exempt.

I kind of feel that taxing a Church's property would be prohibiting their free exercise of religion. What if the church cannot afford the taxes? would the government shut them down? take their property? Also keep in mind that The reason many settlers came to the new world was to escape the high taxes on their religion, which was England's way to weed out any religion other than the church of England.
