    i think its you missing the point....by a mile....

    those FA you dont like we brought here to occupy the positions until we gets people drafted....not to be top of their position. this may be players of less ability, but also of a much lesser price tag. get that thru your thick skull....while you see no problem with compromising the future cap to "win now" (lmao), those of superior football intelligence decided the opposite so we can lock up our young talent with upside. this includes 2 1st round picks next year.

    youre sick of losing....we get that. but what you are suggesting has been proven to be ineffective in the long term. this is a fact and supported by many long term winners. do you not get that? does the failing of the redskins over the years just not sink in? if you really are sick of losing and want something more than the fluke 2007 season, then simply shut up and watch how building thru the draft is done. its what we need....but then again, it seems like u think every draft pick should be playing like a probowler from day one...and if they dont, its a failure. if you dont see how utterly ridiculous this is, then ill just agree to disagree.

    Ah, I finally got it through MY Thick head where WRRebel is coming from. Yankees fan- tells me all I need to know. Well the Yankee baseball model of buying up all the talent every year to go pennant chasing doesn't work in the NFL- never has, since Free Agency and a hard salary cap. It worked once way back when for George Allen and his Over the Hill Gang of Redskins.

    I happen to agree in Spades with the part of your post I put in red. Buster Skrine looks to be a terrific pickup for the round he was drafted in. And it's really a bit much at this point to expect Taylor to be playing like Suh or Ngata, and Sheard to be the second coming of Abraham and Tuck.

    That hard cap has consequences- just ask the Colts, who are paying a ton of money to Manning, Freeney, and Mathis, and have to go bargain basement shopping to fill other positions.

    OK, so, can we talk English now? I don't have a problem when people say "my team". My problem sometime is when they say "we" or "us". Otherwise, t depends. On here, the Cleveland Browns Board, I may say "We" or "us". I probably wouldn't on someone else's board. I would say "the Browns...."

    First off you can't compare baseball and football. First baseball has a farm system, fotball doesn't.

    2nd free agency in baseball and football is also much different.

    yes football teams need to build through the draft but also need to bring in free agents.

    You can't just build through the draft, you have to sign free agents that are a fit for your system.

    Comparing CB's to safeties is apples and oranges. At that point compare Sue to DE's ... he wouldn't be the best at his position anymore.

    You should also factor in the fact that in a very pass happy NFL a stud CB is more important then a stud DT.

    The argument between the 2 is stupid though because both are young upcoming studs at there respective positions and both will only get better

    The NFL lumps safeties and corners together for stat purposes and I would say with the ones I mention it is more a comparison of Fuji and Golden Delicious. If you surveyed every GM in football right now and asked them Haden or Suh on your squad all but Heckert would say Suh..
