I Am Really Getting Convinced We Should Take Rg3

Ur right. QB is the problem. Just like it's always been. The browns pick the wrong QB every 2 years...don't you think they wouldve hit on one of them by now?
The browns are the only team in the league that draft a QB as often as they do. They are the only team in the league that thinks the QB is the reason they can't stop anybody on defense...the reason the wrs can't catch...the reason the offensive line can't block and the reason they can't win ever
QBs that find success early are the ones that have talent already around them...unfortunately the browns are too concerned with drafting a new QB every other year so they don't use any picks on the rest of the team.
come on dude .... u have seen Colt play for 13+ games ... You have seen Greg Little catch the ball comfortably when seneca threw it and take it to the bank. Why should we not draft a new QB or get an experienced one who is capable ?

Wait? If Greg little only catches it when Seneca plays then why not start Seneca?
Secondly that is exactly my point. 13 games isn't even a full season and he is playing on a team with a terrible oline and wrs that couldn't catch a cold
Give him some weapons and some protection and he could be all world

Bpa is a myth. If you take a QB it's because you need one. If you don't need one you will not take one
If kalil is available the browns won't take him because they already have Joe Thomas
Bpa is a joke and a complete myth.
You never know with the Browns if Kalil is there with the 4th pick im sure they would defentily consider drafting him, You see most the good teams draft BPA over Need..Do you think Green Bay needed a Wide Reciever in the last year no i dont think so they still took Randall Cobb

Actually they needed a guy to spread the field and improve their awful special teams
Cobb is exactly that guy
Good teams draft for depth and the future because they already have good starters

Canton i am still a big believer in Colt McCoy and dont think he will be a bad NFL QB even with that being said i wouldnt pass on RG3 if you see a prospect that you think can be an upgrade over the most important position in the league i take him, he is a rare player that wont come around probaly for at least another 5-10 years he is a unique player..
NFC Playoff Picture
1.Green Bay-Rodgers
2.San Fran-Smith
3.N.O.-Brees
4.Lions-Stafford
5.Falcons-Ryan
6.Cowboys-Romo
Philly-Vick
NY-Manning
Afc Picture
1.N.E.-Brady
2.Baltimore-Flacco
3.Houston-Shaub/Yates
4.Denver-Tebow
5.Pitt-Big Gay
6.NY-Sanchez
Bengals-Dalton
Chargers-Rivers
Out of the complete playoff picture i would say only Alex Smith,Tebow and Sanchez are mediocre QBS...Dalton is young,Yates as well and the team mostly had Shuab...So this is a QB Driven league

Colt is young too. The top 3 QBs this season were all given time before being tossed into the starting lineup.
Colt needs to be given time to succeed before everybody gives up on him. Who knows how good he could be with a top flight WR.

you're acting like we're hopping off the bandwagon after 3-4 starts. He's had 21 or 22, I forget exactly but that's more than a season to prove his worth. He has had little to no help, I can't argue you that at all. But there's traits about a QB that have to be there and would be shown by now even with an awful supporting cast. Colt is consistently a half second behind on plays, which in the NFL is the matter of life and death. At this point he would have shown the progression reads and improved on that and he just hasn't. Trust me man, I love the passion of the guy and hope every week he can finally figure it all out, but the same day one problems are there. He's a great back-up and someone I would trust to go out there if a franchise guy got hurt and feel like we have a chance to win. But let me ask an honest question to you: Do you truly believe at the end of the day Colt is a franchise QB? I never though Couch was, Frye was, Quinn was, Anderson was. The fact of the matter is that in today's pass oriented, QB friendly league the franchise QB's stick out from day one, not after 3-4 years.

Barkley will be better right away (not taking into account RGIII's run ability putting up points with rushing TD's) but RGIII should be the better QB in 3 years.
-
here's the elephant in the room. I love RG3, but his game in no way works with this shitty WCO. I pray to God we realize how useless that offense is in today's game and open it up. IF they do that, he's a no brainer. Him and a speed WR would be amazing.

Yeah?...Try telling the Packers and Saints its useless....

Some of the problems displayed by Colt like staring at a receiver, overthrowing etc are not mistakes that are caused due to lack of understanding the playbook.
Also, he is a chance we took on a 3rd round QB. If he panned out well and good , if not, big deal.

Cliche I know, but I could not have said it better myself. Coaching same deal. The Browns need CONTINUITY!

lol, if you really think the offense they run is anywhere the same crap we run then keep dreamin. They started with a concept and modified it for today's game. I have no hope that will happen here. As on last week 75% of our passes were less than 10 yards. Do you think that number is even remotely close in New Orleans or Green Bay? Come on man.

We also don't have the same WR's or QB right now. If we get a QB that can throw more farther down field and do it accuratly and a QR that has some speed to open up the field we would see the team running more long routes.

First Choice, package multiple #1 picks for Andrew Luck. Big arm, tall, accurate, hi football IQ, could start as a rookie. We would have our franchise QB for the next 10-15 years. Instant relevance. Possibility of a super bowl appearance in the next five years goes way up. Of course Indy may not be open to any trade, but if they do trade that pick we better be in on it.
Second choice.. this assumes we aren't taking a QB this year. Depending on whose opinion you believe, RG3 and Barkley don't appear to be absolute locks for NFL stardom. Grab Trent Richardson. With Hillis looking to be gone and Hardesty a possible bust, going into next year with a practice squad running back as your #1 is a thin cupboard. A stud running back usually has the side effect of helping to open up opportunities in the passing game. Our best offensive performances this year have been when a running back has a good game.
Assuming we keep our own first round pick and take Richardson, then I hope to grab Vontaze Burfict with the Atlanta first round pick obtained via the draft day trade last year. I'm going to be pissed if the Ravens end up with this guy taking over for Ray Lewis and being a star.
Yeah, we still need a dynamic WR. Other teams have had success finding good wr's outside the first round. The past Browns regimes have used second and third round picks on mediocre wideouts, see Robiskie, Massaquoi,Travis Wilson. Heckert did pretty well with Greg Little, maybe he can find us another gem outside the first round. There are some good wideouts that may be available via free agency in the offseason, perhaps that avenue could also be used.

Cam Newton has weapons and a running game. Chud's offense is based on his ability to throw downfield and running backs who can gain yardage. The Browns have no offensive weapons and no running game and run the WCO.

The only debate should be if Blackmon is on the board then i would defentily think about him if hes gone then i would take RG3 and not look back...BPA over Need dont care that he is a QB if you believe hes the best player available take him unless you have Rodgers,Brady,Brees etc...

Except, they might take him to play RT, which is a position of need. And if Kalil is there and he is the BPA, I guess the Browns grab him.

Barkley is a poor man's version of Colt McCoy.

Barkley is also staying at USC, as we'll find out in 30 minutes.

Why would Barkley call a press conference to say he was staying? Perhaps he will just reiterate this:

Scouting Report on Matt Barkley:
Scouts do have some reservations about Barkley's physical tools. Listed by Southern California at just 6-2, 220 pounds, he doesn't possess the height or bulk preferred at the position and has been protected by a strong Trojan offensive line throughout his career.
Some talent evaluators question whether Barkley has the arm strength to make every NFL throw. Though Southern Cal operates out of a pro-style offense, Barkley is rarely asked to drive the ball to the opposite hash. When he does so, his passes tend to wobble slightly. Because the USC junior has a technically clean set-up, delivery and release, the wobbly passes are thought to be an indication that Barkley may have small hands and only moderate overall arm strength.
While these traits do serve as potential red flags, scouts have much more to like about Barkley than they dislike. As mentioned, Barkley is a technically refined passer well-groomed in a pro-style offense. While many of today's rookie quarterbacks require time on the sideline to acclimate, Barkley is seen as relatively ready to "plug and play." His leadership and toughness have drawn raves from those close to the Southern Cal program. In the history of Southern California no true freshman quarterback had ever earned the starting role in the season opener until Barkley. Operating under the constant glare of Los Angeles sans an NFL team, Barkley is used to being a high-profile athlete in a major media market.
