Yeah?...Try telling the Packers and Saints its useless....

lol, if you really think the offense they run is anywhere the same crap we run then keep dreamin. They started with a concept and modified it for today's game. I have no hope that will happen here. As on last week 75% of our passes were less than 10 yards. Do you think that number is even remotely close in New Orleans or Green Bay? Come on man.

We also don't have the same WR's or QB right now. If we get a QB that can throw more farther down field and do it accuratly and a QR that has some speed to open up the field we would see the team running more long routes.

  • First Choice, package multiple #1 picks for Andrew Luck. Big arm, tall, accurate, hi football IQ, could start as a rookie. We would have our franchise QB for the next 10-15 years. Instant relevance. Possibility of a super bowl appearance in the next five years goes way up. Of course Indy may not be open to any trade, but if they do trade that pick we better be in on it.

Second choice.. this assumes we aren't taking a QB this year. Depending on whose opinion you believe, RG3 and Barkley don't appear to be absolute locks for NFL stardom. Grab Trent Richardson. With Hillis looking to be gone and Hardesty a possible bust, going into next year with a practice squad running back as your #1 is a thin cupboard. A stud running back usually has the side effect of helping to open up opportunities in the passing game. Our best offensive performances this year have been when a running back has a good game.

Assuming we keep our own first round pick and take Richardson, then I hope to grab Vontaze Burfict with the Atlanta first round pick obtained via the draft day trade last year. I'm going to be pissed if the Ravens end up with this guy taking over for Ray Lewis and being a star.

Yeah, we still need a dynamic WR. Other teams have had success finding good wr's outside the first round. The past Browns regimes have used second and third round picks on mediocre wideouts, see Robiskie, Massaquoi,Travis Wilson. Heckert did pretty well with Greg Little, maybe he can find us another gem outside the first round. There are some good wideouts that may be available via free agency in the offseason, perhaps that avenue could also be used.

  • christ thats a terrible take on what you want done...

trade the farm for a QB? take a RB and a problem child LB in the first?

holy shit id fucking kill someone.

  • Cam Newton has weapons and a running game. Chud's offense is based on his ability to throw downfield and running backs who can gain yardage. The Browns have no offensive weapons and no running game and run the WCO.

The only debate should be if Blackmon is on the board then i would defentily think about him if hes gone then i would take RG3 and not look back...BPA over Need dont care that he is a QB if you believe hes the best player available take him unless you have Rodgers,Brady,Brees etc...

Bpa is a myth. If you take a QB it's because you need one. If you don't need one you will not take one

If kalil is available the browns won't take him because they already have Joe Thomas

Bpa is a joke and a complete myth.

Except, they might take him to play RT, which is a position of need. And if Kalil is there and he is the BPA, I guess the Browns grab him.

  • Barkley will be better right away (not taking into account RGIII's run ability putting up points with rushing TD's) but RGIII should be the better QB in 3 years.

Barkley is a poor man's version of Colt McCoy.

  • Barkley is also staying at USC, as we'll find out in 30 minutes.

Why would Barkley call a press conference to say he was staying? Perhaps he will just reiterate this:

  • Scouting Report on Matt Barkley:

Scouts do have some reservations about Barkley's physical tools. Listed by Southern California at just 6-2, 220 pounds, he doesn't possess the height or bulk preferred at the position and has been protected by a strong Trojan offensive line throughout his career.

Some talent evaluators question whether Barkley has the arm strength to make every NFL throw. Though Southern Cal operates out of a pro-style offense, Barkley is rarely asked to drive the ball to the opposite hash. When he does so, his passes tend to wobble slightly. Because the USC junior has a technically clean set-up, delivery and release, the wobbly passes are thought to be an indication that Barkley may have small hands and only moderate overall arm strength.

While these traits do serve as potential red flags, scouts have much more to like about Barkley than they dislike. As mentioned, Barkley is a technically refined passer well-groomed in a pro-style offense. While many of today's rookie quarterbacks require time on the sideline to acclimate, Barkley is seen as relatively ready to "plug and play." His leadership and toughness have drawn raves from those close to the Southern Cal program. In the history of Southern California no true freshman quarterback had ever earned the starting role in the season opener until Barkley. Operating under the constant glare of Los Angeles sans an NFL team, Barkley is used to being a high-profile athlete in a major media market.

Gee, don't you have to give him 3 seasons with an all world WR, an all world OL, and an all world RB before you can 'accurately' declare that?

How about just some talent period. Colt has nothing around him right now

Not only that but he's already played under 2 head coaches in 2 seasons

I know ur upset cuz everything points to you bein wrong about it but you have to give a player time

    Called it, by the way.

    Oooooo you mad?

Ur so convinced that colt is the problem but everybody knows the browns entire team needs work.

I would laugh my ass off if the browns took a QB. Everybody that knows anything about anything knows the browns need to get some wrs and some offensive linemen

....not necessarily pro bowl guys...but definitely some guys that can actually catch and block

  • @brownindian said:

come on dude .... u have seen Colt play for 13+ games ... You have seen Greg Little catch the ball comfortably when seneca threw it and take it to the bank. Why should we not draft a new QB or get an experienced one who is capable ?

Wait? If Greg little only catches it when Seneca plays then why not start Seneca?

Secondly that is exactly my point. 13 games isn't even a full season and he is playing on a team with a terrible oline and wrs that couldn't catch a cold

Give him some weapons and some protection and he could be all world

New offenses to learn, lack of coaching continuity, oline injuries, weak-sister receiving corp...blase, blase. Colt has certainly had his

share of challenges these past 15 months or so but, imho, none of these hoops packaged individualy or lumped together are the kiss-of-death in his transistion

from Longhorn to Brown. You can't overlook his 0 -9 record against north division foes. And you can't help but question his ability (inability?) to make the throw

in those bone chillin, gale force wind blowin' November, December amd January games. Colt is a hard worker. He has a great personality. His wife is aces. It's just that i don't think

he has the juice to be "that guy" as the Browns claw their way back atop the heap.

First of all...the browns are 0-9...wins and losses go to the team...not 1 player

Secondly, all I heard when colt came out was that he's a winner and he knows how to win. Well what happened?

What happened was he got drafted by a terrible team with absolutely no talent around him. It'll be the same for any other QB that comes to the browns too because nobody can give the guy time to succeed

Colt is not THE problem as in the only problem. He is A problem. Like you, he just isn't getting it.

Its not like you have to throw away your Colt fathead.

With browns fans, the QB will never be good enough so the browns will keep firing head coaches and bringin in new QBs every other year until the team gets sold and moves again

You are the classic moron that doesn't know a single thing about football...not surprised
