Just make sure you put some "Weeden" in them.

Could be worse. Your recovery time was acceptable to me. Drinks and brownies on the house!!

Sorry we cannot do anything about it! Just an unbelievably high number of people on here right now. The server can only hold so much.

Wrong. The script is obviously not optimized and if you had a dedicated server it wouldn't matter. We have 18 sites, 2 of them getting over 60,000 visits a day.

Yes, this isn't any knock on Atenears- I know he's working on the problem. I'm no Internet Guru- but if you have a big enough server(s), doesn't matter how many people are on the site. Like how many people were on NFL.com at one time during the draft? A couple million?

Dude I deal with it everyday. You just can't have a shared server for a site set up like this. There were better options of smaller scripted forums. Maybe putting up one ad on the site would pay for a dedicated host. I could be wrong, but we have a site with 63,000 visitors yesterday and runs as smooth as a baby's bottom.
I can see one thing for sure, if anyone is listening, the CSS should not be embedded at the page level. You need to call it externally so the cache can do it's job. I looked in one the posts page and there are 4417 lines of css in each page, UNHEARD of.
If you changed this you can use a shared server.
One other thing all the links are absolute, which means every time someone clicks a link it leaves the site and comes back to reload un-cached content.
I'll step off my soapbox.

Nope, you're it.
