Holmgren To Be Removed

"Banner to become Browns top executive next month
while the source indicated that Haslam and Banner will take their time evaluating coaches and front office staff, and that major, immediate changes are unlikely beyond Holmgren's ouster. Haslam has been careful not make any moves until after the purchase become official."
What's to evaluate? Shurmur 0-5 and still has deer in the headlight look when Haslam takes over, he hits the road along with Bug Waldrus. Promote Jauron to interim HC.

Cleveland won't miss his fat ass.

Well again, I felt all along that Holmgren, like most men, after having achieved such great success in his career, just didn't have the fire that drove him the first time around.
Seriously, I am sure he meant well when he took the job, but once in the posh position/ C mon, who's gonna be up at 5 30 AM for drills.
I think the takeaway here is that Haslam is not going to sit on ass. Quick move, versus playing politically correct and waiting until 2013....? Positive news in my estimation.
Who hacked Ghoolie's account? This is way to rational to be Ghoolie.

After the hiring... then firing of Phil Savage
The hiring of Mangini..then hiring Kokinos with the recommendation of Mangini...then firing Kokinos with the recommendation of Mangini
The hiring of Holmgren was an admission by Lerner that "I don't know what the hell I'm doing"
Holmgren gave the organization instant credibility...did it give us instant success...no ...but it slowed the downward spiral
In Haslams initial presser he stated that they have a certain method to success that involved putting key people in key positions....and that his method is proven...and it works!
I'm on board with Jimmy...Let the house cleaning begin!!!

well Holmgren probably was the most useless person of all time... The biggest waste of money I have seen. He will never get another front office job...
I am very excited for the new owner. Looks like some one who cares and actually give a shit!

Actually in that picture Haslam looks like a Marine Officer who isn't going to put up with any BS.

I rode the elevator at CBS with jowl face Holmgren and his wife b4 St Louis cluster fcuk last November. He had the look of a beaten man
(although she wasn't bad to look at). No surprise to see him hit the trail.
Congratulations Banner!!!! Enjoy all that crazy loot!

This made my day. Walrus, Shurmur, and Heckler... may your lack of production and may the end of a dead beat, status quo Browns regime bid you farewell. Until now, the Browns FO was run like the government, full of a bunch of do-nothings who only cared about their paycheck. Now, the organization will run like a well tuned corporation, full of people who still want a paycheck (of course) but strive for bigger and better. Love it

This is old new it's just now made official I guess.
It was reported a long time ago Banner would be coming in with a top executive position.
Holmren's tombstone was written when Haslam made sure Lerner was responsible to pay out the remainder of his contract.
As for Shurmur and Heckert idk, but everything I've heard about Hecker and Banner in Philly is that they'd butt heads a lot.

Also heard that Haslam has hired someone from Pepsi Co. to run his truck stops. Something changed his mind in the last five weeks to make him want to take control of what is going on here in Cleveland. For me, this sounds like a great thing. Shurmur will be gone and we will get someone in here who will take full advantage of the talent we have... let's at least hope so. A great point people are making is that when you look at Washington, they have adopted an offense around RG3. But here in Cleveland, the idiots try and cram a completely new offense down the throat of Weeden and everyone else.
These offenses are working in College, why are there bull headed guys in the NFL that don't see that?

But we need to implement the West Coast Offense. Dont you know that is the only way to win games. Seriously though, If they had adapted to a players strength then Colt might have been a half decent QB. I'm pretty sure you can design plays which take advantage of his mobility and relatively lower arm strength. Is is any wonder that the best year that Colt had as a Brown was under Eric Mangini in his final year where they were forced to play to win and not to implement an archaic system?

Great News
HE CAN'T DO ANY WORSE
Oh sure he can......
But as long as he doesn't bring in a POS like Michael Vick, fine.
That might not have been done under his watch in Philly anyway.

When Banner comes in he is going to have ZERO control over the roster, just like he did in Philly. The signing and starting of Vick was Reids choice and his alone. Rather Banner is going to be in charge of the finances (Player/Coach/Front Office) like he did in Philly. He will have the power to hire/fire (I think) but not to cut players or pull rank to pick who he wants. I think what it comes down to is he has de facto power. Heckert says he wants to sign player A and Banner tells him fine but he can only offer player A X amount of money.

We'll see if he has those limitations. I know that is how it was in Philly, but in the end Jimmy is going to decide who has what say and how much say.
Until he has official control of the club and starts making official announcements, it's only conjecture as to what will happen.

It was such a short time ago that most of you here thought I was just a troll when I said that Holmgren had very limited qualifications to be the head honcho.....and he got fired from that gig too!
It looks like it won't matter much as it's odds on he's going to get fired again. The McCoy & Weeden picks are all on Mike. BW is going to have to improve 1,000% to make it look like Holmie didn't screw up twice.
