The move aside, I believe it was Peter King who said all of his "accomplishments" would have eventually gotten done with or without Art. And as long as Tony Grossi is alive and well, Art will never get in. The Move overshadows anything else positive he ever did- and then he pretty much got unceremoniously drummed out of the league when after the $50 million Baltimore\Maryland bribe still couldn't keep him financially afloat.

I've always said- the owners\contributors list should be mighty short- like George Halas and maybe a few others. Or have their own wing- like the Baseball HOF does.

Ogden is the first of three sure-fire Hall of Famers drafted by Ozzie Newsome. Lewis and Ogden were his first two draft picks. got Ed Reed late in the first round. Ray Rice and a few others are headed on a great career path.

Let's pretend he learned it all from Lombardi.

Ray Lewis will be first ballot. But, I agree, him waiting a couple of years wouldn't break my heart. All that glitters is not gold. I love his play for the Ravens, but thats not him in his entirety.

I didn't go that far. Lewis was not convicted of murder. I don't think he murdered anyone. HOWEVER, I think his shut mouth and "help" kept two murderers out of prison.

  • I think I did all right. I predicted Curley Culp and Robinson to get in, and Parcells/Carter/Ogden/Allen/Haley.

Intstead of Haley we got Sapp....OK

  • Next year may be a good year for some of those who have been waiting to make it into the HOF.

The list of first time eligibles for next year are highlighted by the following people:

    Tony Dungy

    Marvin Harrison

    Daunte Culpepper

    Warrick Dunn

    Shawn Alexander

    Muhsin Muhammed

As far as I am concerned Harrison is the only one of those that is HOF worthy.

Thus it may be the year for the likes of Strahan, Haley, Bettis, Tim Brown, Andre Reed etc., guys that haven't gotten in.

These guys need to make hay next year because the following year will include first time eligibles Isaac Brucee, Edgerrin James, Walter Jones, Ty Law, Kevin Mawae, Orlando Pace, Junior Seau, Kurt Warner, Jamal Lewis, Rod Smith, Darren Sharpe....a few heavyweight candidates.

Ya, none of those guys next year are first ballot worthy, so I think Reed and Brown finally get in, along with Bettis and Strahan and Larry Allen. That would be my five.

Uhm, Larry Allen got in this year. Maybe you meant Will Shields.

I CAN see Marvin Harrison getting in. His creds are probably better than either Brown or Reed.

But I say next year top candidates are Bettis/Strahan/Harrison/Shields/Haley.

And they ARE going to bring back up the name of Paul Tagliabue.

And hey: what about Marty Schottenheimer? Only coach wit 200 career wins not in the HOF.

Yea, I meant Shields. Haley I could see too.

Marv Harrison will get in eventually, but there is a perception about him being one-dimensional and benefiting from Peyton, so he might wait a year or two while they get the other tow receivers that have been waiting get in.

Didn't Harrison also have some off field issues after he retired....like a domestic violence charge or something? That could affect the voting.
