  • Sorry, most of the illegals here have no desire to stay and become productive citizens. There are numerous gangs here from Central America. Most of the illegals are young men. They could care less about the United States or you. You all are really naive.

What are you talking about? Nobody mentioned either legalizing drugs or making guns illegal.

Oh I will push for legalizing drugs. Making them illegal has not curbed the usage in the US. They are still here, and rather than taxing them we throw money into a hole in the vain attempt to try and legislate morality. Meanwhile destabilizing our immediate neighbors to our detriment.

There's legal drugs for every illegal one. Adderall is essentially meth/ similar to cocaine

Oxycodone is similar to heroin. Both legal as you say, but hasn't curbed illegal use at all. If you could just buy them from the roebuck catalog like in the old days it might make a dent in it.

Hey bub, half our legal citizens have no interest in being productive. People are lazy, tell me something I don't know.

    You have a point there.

There are plenty of people born in this country who have no interest in bettering themselves, and couldn't care less about the US, and whose only interest is collecting the next government paid check. I will not use that as a barometer of how the majority of people feel, Then use that to discount those who have drive.

With the exception that we actually make money in taxes paid and jobs created in the use/abuse of pharmaceuticals.

Yeah but what you'd need to get rid of illegal drugs is full de-regulation on them. No more schedules, no more prescriptions. Just flat out legal drugs. Not going to happen. Youd have half the country hooked on smack.

we already have a country full of methheads and potheads and cokeheads and pillheads and, and, and you get the point. at least with taxation you can fund rehab programs rather than pissing in the wind, and burning money in a hole trying to stop the problem. We need a more Progressive approach to the problem because the current solution is not working.

Did we become a nation of alcoholics when prohibition was repealed?

I guess another question would be how many more people with addictive personalities would try it if it weren't illegal.

I wonder what the numbers are in a.a. vs n.a.?

I can't say since we havn't crossed that road with drugs, but the numbers for alcohol are largely foggy with both sides claiming positive. Seems to be about the same with periods of up and down, but I can't state that as fact(since alcohol was illegal they could no longer track sales and had to use secondary means for data). But I can state that the repeal was based on the negative side effects of prohibition. No regulation meant that unscrupulous individuals could cut corners with their product as they saw fit. criminals would use force to cut out territories for the sale of their illegal product, using the illegal money to fuel other criminal enterprises and that the demand never went away. I guess the point is that you can cut the supply but you will still have the demand, and someone will step up to meet that demand.

It was pot stills in the woods then and Meth labs in hotel rooms now.
