Its kind of the lifestyle we are forcing on them. can't get insurance because by doing so you out yourself. can't get a legit job because you would out yourself. cant get a decent house because you could possibly out yourself. I am not saying all that would go away but it can only help to get those who are motivated to help themselves. My family Came here with nothing from Poland in the late 30's running from a horrible situation, and they started out on pretty much the same foot. But within two generations we were exactly like the rest of middle class America.

Forcing on them? They came here illegally. No one forced them to come. My grandparents from my fathers side came from Croatia, legally. I don't see awarding criminals with benefits sorry.

The difference was a change in policy in allowing immigrants to the country. we should be encouraging them to show up and work hard in this country it is how we were founded. I see this as a parallel to our misguided policy on drugs, the drugs are here and will always be here why bother fighting it. Embrace them and use it to your advantage. I can not fault someone for leaving some 2nd or 3rd world hole and trying to do better for their family, especially when my own family benefited in the exact same way.

You know almost all our ancestors came here illegally. And you know, the blacks, their ancestors came here illegally too. Like, really illegally. We illegally settled and then just took over Texas. I'm sure plenty of other border states too. So, the righteous fury stuff is a little misplaced. We have to find a solution that integrates them because its really not going away.

I suppose we could just annex all of Mexico.

Mexico is a problem largely of our own doing. Criminal cartels run that country and field armies based on the cash of our drug policies. I don't blame people wanting to leave there en masse. Lets see live where I can be beheaded simply for existing or saying the wrong thing, or run away to a place where the worst that happens is I get deported and am for the most part treated as a human.

You don't have to convince me. They routinely find 50 decapitated bodies at a whack on the side of the road there. Much as its a beautiful destination, down in yucatan, ill be taking my vacations elsewhere for, most likely, forever.

  • 1. There was no law in place that said you can't explore and come to N. America. America didn't exist yet.

    2. Mexico is an example of NOT fighting against drugs. They take over, and all hell brakes loose.

Legalizing drugs and making guns illegal....

    that makes sense to anybody?

The cartels would take over here, and they would have guns.

    I mean, come on, people.....😠

Yeah just making a further statement off of your own. And stating I really don't find any fault in them being here. They are coming here because they would rather try and live illegally under our laws then die under what is basically rule of cartel law. I would make the same decision.

The cartels are founded on money brought in by drugs. If we internalize that money by taking it away and making them legal they are no longer able to fund what basically amounts to an army. we seen the exact same thing with prohibition. And I will never be on the side of taking away guns, just look at the poor bastards in Mexico unable to defend themselves from those who have no regard for law.

Oh I will push for legalizing drugs. Making them illegal has not curbed the usage in the US. They are still here, and rather than taxing them we throw money into a hole in the vain attempt to try and legislate morality. Meanwhile destabilizing our immediate neighbors to our detriment.

  • Sorry, most of the illegals here have no desire to stay and become productive citizens. There are numerous gangs here from Central America. Most of the illegals are young men. They could care less about the United States or you. You all are really naive.

There's legal drugs for every illegal one. Adderall is essentially meth/ similar to cocaine

Oxycodone is similar to heroin. Both legal as you say, but hasn't curbed illegal use at all. If you could just buy them from the roebuck catalog like in the old days it might make a dent in it.

Hey bub, half our legal citizens have no interest in being productive. People are lazy, tell me something I don't know.

There are plenty of people born in this country who have no interest in bettering themselves, and couldn't care less about the US, and whose only interest is collecting the next government paid check. I will not use that as a barometer of how the majority of people feel, Then use that to discount those who have drive.

With the exception that we actually make money in taxes paid and jobs created in the use/abuse of pharmaceuticals.

Yeah but what you'd need to get rid of illegal drugs is full de-regulation on them. No more schedules, no more prescriptions. Just flat out legal drugs. Not going to happen. Youd have half the country hooked on smack.

we already have a country full of methheads and potheads and cokeheads and pillheads and, and, and you get the point. at least with taxation you can fund rehab programs rather than pissing in the wind, and burning money in a hole trying to stop the problem. We need a more Progressive approach to the problem because the current solution is not working.

Did we become a nation of alcoholics when prohibition was repealed?

I guess another question would be how many more people with addictive personalities would try it if it weren't illegal.

I wonder what the numbers are in a.a. vs n.a.?

I can't say since we havn't crossed that road with drugs, but the numbers for alcohol are largely foggy with both sides claiming positive. Seems to be about the same with periods of up and down, but I can't state that as fact(since alcohol was illegal they could no longer track sales and had to use secondary means for data). But I can state that the repeal was based on the negative side effects of prohibition. No regulation meant that unscrupulous individuals could cut corners with their product as they saw fit. criminals would use force to cut out territories for the sale of their illegal product, using the illegal money to fuel other criminal enterprises and that the demand never went away. I guess the point is that you can cut the supply but you will still have the demand, and someone will step up to meet that demand.

It was pot stills in the woods then and Meth labs in hotel rooms now.
