Training Camp News, August 1 (It's August!)

I digress.
Would Babe Ruth have been same prolific home run hitter if he had to face black pitchers during his career? How different would the history of NCAA football and basketball read if the college ranks had embraced the black man earlier than the mid 1960's? I suspect the record books would read much different than what appears now. I am not here to rankle anybody's cage but I think it is important to understand how segregation filtered down through the many layers of American society and how difficult it must of been for a black athlete to stick to his guns and endure the hostilities he/she faced in striving to play pro sports.
I was raised by racist parents south of the Mason Dixon line. Like you, mik, my time in the military, (doing figure eights on a fast frigate in the Med for months at a time), exposed me to latinos and blacks whom I discovered were not any different from me. A Puerto Rican from the Bronx turned me on to his home grown cassettes which contained some of the first hip/hop of the early 1980's. I would go on weekend trips to DC and hang with the home boys. My buddy, Hector, from Miami, would send care packages to my home when I was on leave ensuring a rocking good time. I have not heard from them in years, but I betcha if we were to get together somehow, it would be just like old times. I'm a better person for developing a tolerance my parents were totally incapable of understanding.
You were probably one of those guys we busted and put on restriction every few weeks.

You were way to dumb, lifer, to get anywhere near slowing my roll. Only time you got near me, loser, was when you picked up my overflowing piss specimen which would always be clean. I had no problem at all telling you lifer losers what I though of you when I was with the fleet and twenty five years later I would tell you the same thing to your face. I got a real job when I finished my time........underachieving wanna-be-cops like you enjoyed spending twenty years with a bunch of squid homos.
why don't you spend some of your 1500/mo retirement pay and go by yourself a bottle of Wild Irish Rose, lifer-loser
-
Go fuck yourself slowfuck. You ain't shit, and have never been. You were a fuck up in the Navy, and never did shit. You talk tough, but your a fucking pussy. That much is a fact.
-
I'm pretty satisfied with my accomplishments, lifer. You sound a bit defensive. Why don't you call the local VA and tell them to pick you up in the
morning for a ride to the nearest VA facility where you can talk to some non-English speaking, Haiti Medical school graduate psychiatrist about
your anger issues? Put those veterans benefits to good use, lifer.
-
No, you got issues dude. You have problems because you were a fuck up in the Navy and you know it. Now, admit it or go on denying it.

I have to agree here, a military man who leaves teh service to become..... a cop? A COP? Let's be honest here, in the draft of life, cops are like offensive linemen. Not the brightest bunch, are they?

I'm thinking shitty musician/ internet troll tops the list. If you look at college degrees, offensive lineman are some of the smartest guys in football.

MPs get a bad rap.
yeah most cops and MPs have/had the 'napolean complex' where they were shorter than everyone else, or ugly, or just stoopid and wanted a legal way to kick someone's ass w/o retaliation.
i had run ins with some cool guys that let me go after seeing me flick a joint (he called it a ufo) 10 yards when i saw their car flying across a filed in mz the pussy the pussy , but i also had one of the worse run-ins with MPs cuz i pissed off the #1 in charge dickhead on base.
i was literally 2 blocks from the gate of fort devens at a friends house partying on the lake, not fucked up (by my standards) and came on base with my new toyota celica GTS. just had it shipped in from germany where i bought it at the canadian PX 'car shop'. german gear ratiotransmission built for the autobahn. now this was not my first time driving on base. done it a million times. just so happens i get behind some dick who wants to do the exact speed limit (30 mph) on a stretch of road that equals i-95. so i blow by him and give him a dirty look and maybe i might have even flipped him off BUT so what. i got five miles to go until i get to my barracks where i can finally chill before PT the next morning. meanwhile i speed up and the guy starts following me right on my ass. i finally get to the barracks parking lot, get out of my car and this douchebag rides by REAL slow and staring me down. i told him to go fuck himself and he wrote down my license plate. i just thought he was just another pussy that wanted to know what i was about.
next day i get called to the provost marshall's office by my lesbian first sergeant and that asshole turned out to be the highest ranking MP on base. yes. he was the provost marshall.
anyways long story short i couldn't drive my car on base anymore. that was alright with me cuz i had his 19 year old daughter and 2 other girls drive me where ever i wanted, whenever i wanted.
yeah that's what looking like billy idol got you in 1986. black ass, white ass and a fucking lesbian first sergeant trying to bust my balls every second of the day.
FUCK YOU UGLY TROLL WHORE!! was it my fault you weren't born with a dick?

always like your stories mik, somehow you always seem to incorporate a hooker, some blow, and football all in one post...MPs get a bad rap.

My am pretty certain we will be pretty good at rushing the passer..What worries me; is that if we can't stop the run.. it won't matter.
I believe our DL is up to the task, but our LB's are not exactly known as run stuffers. DQJ struggled in the 3-4 last time out...hoping the experience will help him...but the other guys.. not run stuffers.. So if we can't stop the run.. all the pass rushing talent in the world isn't worth a thing because teams will continue to pound the rock at us.. I'm hoping they will be better than I think they will be.
-
Stopping the run (as a stat) hasn't meant all that much in recent years, must like running the ball... but I think Taylor and Rubin will clog things up and allow a tackling machine like DQJ to have another "near Pro Bowl" year. He's been an alt twice, maybe he gets in this time.
I don't like to rip too much insider stuff, but some "buzz" says some within the organization think the team would be better served with Jason Campbell starting. The sense is that Weeden is struggling and the team keeps hoping he "gets it." He probably had his best practice today but still had two balls knocked down in red zone drills and continues to be late way too often.
Let's hope he's getting some traction. I think there's a LOT to like about this team, and it'd be a real bummer if we're the 2013 version of the 2012 Chiefs (everything BUT the QB). I'd like to take credit for that notion but my son read it in a tweet (!).

Where to start dissecting this nonsense? Shitty musician? Ah, credentials say otherwise, but really, thanks for playing. Maybe try again sometime? Give West Side Steve a holler, you guys likehim, he's played with me, you can get a reference form him.
Internet Troll? Not at all. While my posts indeed to piss Browns fans off, let's be honest, what really pisses people off about me is that much more often than anyone here, I am dead on. Well, perhaps #1 on the piss-off list is that I keep pounding it in way past the point of nosebleeds. This much, I agree with. I get it, it is bad enough that I am right all the time, but continually urinating on your pennant-of-annual-Brown-hope before it can ever dry out between pee-pee trips can alienate folks. I get it. I am going to not repeat this post again, although at the end of the year, you guys will again have to feast on it, since I will save it. Trust me, even not hearing it all year? LMAO, you will hear the echos as the team locks itself into last place.
But let me go on the record and tell you how I see it.
- There was nothing wrong with the Browns OL last year. Skilled players are what enable an OL to rise to the top. When defenses have to cover many possibilities, the OL hs the edge and the DL gets tired and beat up. Most SBs in the past 20 years have been won with a high % of jorneymen, has-beens and second and third string OL players.
- Our D will play too many downs because the O, just like last year will sputter and be a short dump and dink offense. Oh, don't get all worked up because early on, the Browns will have some success only because they don't have a rep for going verticle, but defenses will pass the word and this O will be as shitty as Shurmurs.
- All 32 playbooks look the same. Skill players are what wear defenses out. We have nobody to threaten deep in any meaningful capacity.
- Richardson is a good back, but not a great back, and he is the wrong fit for the Browns. Defenses will again jam the line and TR is going to get hit a lot at the line. He isn't built for that, and just like I told you
- HIllis would be shit in his second year, TR is NOT going to have a good year running. You guys will scratch your balls in confusion wondering how this could happen with such a great new O plan, a great new line, and blah blah blah........... but the reason it will happen is because the Browns scare nobody deep. We aren't going to turn screen passes into 50 yard touchdowns too often. Richardson has been hurt twice, and pounding him up the middle isn't going to allow him to play healthy for the entire season.
- Weeden takes too fucking long to get rid of the ball, so no matter what fucking plays you call, he is going to throw a lot of shit TOO EARLY. In regular season Chud may indeed call more downfield shit, and by doing so he will allow Weeden to get sacked more than ever before. You think Shurmur was a moron? You think he was devoid of knowing the team needed to get downfield? Good grief you guys can be fucking idiots.
So lets summarize okay? Then I won't have to explain why 3-12 might have been a stretch.
1)Nobody to threaten deep
2)Weeden holds the fucking ball too long, even longer than McCoy, Anderson, Frye, and Couch, He's gonna get killed.
3)The OL will get decimated. NO FIVE HOF OL can block 8-9 defensive players who know what is coming at them.
4) Richardson will be less productive this year than last, and there is no way he won't get fucked up, maybe for good! The guy the Steelers drafted will do better, TR needs a big fullback and WRs who can take pressure of the LOS.
Sorry man, but I see this the same way I saw it with Crennel, Shurmur, and now this latest Bozo. Our material is very, and I mean VERY low on the NFL totem pole. Be enthusiastic, but you cannot win games with shit. We have shit.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao carted off field with ankle injury
Aug 05, 2013 -- 7:36pm
By Tony Grossi | ESPNCleveland.com

Reid/Cleveland Browns
Observations, notes, quotes and some facts on Day 10 of Browns training camp …
* At the tail end of practice, starting right guard was carted off the field after turning an ankle in a one-on-one blocking drill against nose tackle Phil Taylor.
Coach Rob Chudzinski said he won’t know the extent of the injury until Tuesday. Teammate Jason Pinkston said he didn’t think it was severe and the Browns were just being cautious.
If Lauvao is held out of Thursday’s exhibition opener against St. Louis, Pinkston would be the likely replacement on the first team. He has been alternating at left and right guard all camp.
Pinkston lost his starting left guard spot last when he developed a blood clot that traveled from his leg to a lung and missed the final 10 games.
“I’m still getting there (to regaining his form),” Pinkston said. “I’ve been out of the game for like 6-7 months. It’s still gonna take some time to get used to moving my feet again, moving my hips.
Whether or not he starts in Lauvao’s place against the Rams, it will be a big night for Pinkston. He has not played in a game in FirstEnergy Stadium since Oct. 14.
* As expected, Trent Richardson was back working with the team after missing two practices because of a kick to the right shin he originally injured in May OTAs. Richardson did participate in some team drills, but was given a lighter work load than usual.
Afterwards, Chudzinski would not say if Richardson would play on Thursday. ESPN Cleveland reported Saturday that Richardson has been told he would be held out, per the precautionary plan the Browns have mapped out for him.
“We’re going to be smart,” the coach said. “We have a plan for him, in a general sense. We want him to work to get better and be out here on a daily basis.”
* The biggest revelation of Chudzinski’s first official depth chart was that Chris Ogbonnaya was listed as the first-team fullback ahead of incumbent Owen Marecic. Ogbonnaya, who said his weight fluctuates between 225 and 235 pounds, was used as the lead blocker in goal-line drills on Monday.
“I think it’s fun,” Ogbonnaya said. “It’s a great challenge and I’m trying to accept that.”
With the team’s cautious approach to Richardson and Montario Hardesty still out with a hamstring tendon injury, Ogbonnaya’s versatility is being appreciated by the coaching staff. Dion Lewis and Brandon Jackson shared the reps at tailback on Monday, but Ogbonnaya lined up in several spots required by the fullback.
Chudzinski said, “He’s a guy that can play multiple positions. Sometimes it’s hard to put those guys in two different spots. The thing about depth charts, they don’t always tell the story of roles. There’s a lot of roles on teams that you need that aren’t necessarily covered on a depth chart. A guy that appears sometimes as a third teamer on a depth chart is the first teamer in some sort of role in some situation for a game. Certainly, Oby is a very valuable part of what we’re doing.”
* In one-on-one passing drills, cornerbacks Joe Haden and Chris Owensgot the better of Josh Gordon and Greg Little.
* The Browns did a lot of work on goal line plays. In 14 plays originating inside the 10-yard line, the offense reached the end zone nine times – three through the air, including a reception by Marecic. On the last play, reserve safety Josh Aubrey made the defensive play of the drill, shooting around right end and tackling running back Miguel Maysonet short of the goal line.
* At the end of two-minute drills, the kickers each made field goals of 52 yards.
