Okaaaayyy.... Nobody available douche.. WHO Available is better? Who gives the CLEVELAND BROWNS the better chance to win that is attainable? Answer NOBODY!!!! I'm only stating facts that the browns coach, gm, prez, and owner obviously agree with me.

Guess credibility hard to judge these days with loose ended observations.

A drunk Bernie Kosar can actually read defenses better drunk than Wheezy can sober...now...just think about that awhile...

Im not defending weeden here little feller. FACTS r there is no one else available for the browns to pick up or they woulda been here Sunday night. Just sit and beat it to that for a moment.

Weedens starting , majority of us are pissed about, but REAL fans cheer anyways and don't always point at weak links like thats the only reason. Only reason I chimed in was somehow Tebow found his way back to this board.

Tyler Thigpen, Matt Flynn (until yesterday), Chad Pennington, Bernie Kosar.

Any QB that doesn't turn the ball over gives us a better chance to win than Weeden.

Problem is...we don't want to pay for a one year patch.

I wouldn't pay for those scrubs either. Now if a schaub type of guy that the browns were Gettin bang for there buck. Yea y woukd they waste money on any of those guys who chances r aren't that much of an improvement over weeden and chance of even being worse.

  • To quote a film I just finished watching: no mas. Bringing in more incompetent QBs to replace current incompetent QBs makes no sense.

  • To Browns fans it does!!! But then we want to hold the front office accountable for giving their knowledgeable fans what they want.

  • I forgot how bad the patriots thought Tebow sucked when he was in their camp, like he couldn't even make the #3 spot for them. I'd think if Weeden was in their system he'd at least make the #3...he is a practice beast afterall, looks great. It's his gametime performance that ruins everything. He's not a football player, honestly that's what i think this is all about. There's guys that play football because they have an athletic talent and they want to at least make one contract in the league which could set them for life. Then there are ball players. Guys like Manning are football players because it's their entire reason for living and they study the shit out of the game.

I don't know what football you've been watching but Chad Pennington was one of the most efficient quarterbacks to play the game.

And obviously the last two are jokes.

Flynn could have easily come in and not thrown picks, just as any quarterback with half a brain can do.

Once again, we're not looking for skill. We're looking for someone to just not fuck up.

Hey, Colt McCoy's college highlights looked pretty good too. 🙂

What I took away from that- most of those receivers were wide open, most of them were slow developing plays that gave Weeden time. AND ON ALL OF THEM WEEDEN HAD A TEXTBOOK POCKET TO THROW OUT OF, WHEN HE WASN'T ROLLING OUT. He's fucking phenomenal with no pressure on him- but so is every damn quarterback that makes it to the NFL level.

  • No to Tebow!

    Browns won’t be adding Tebow

The clocks are the Factory of Gladness won’t be set for Tebow time any time soon. Or ever.

Rumors of a Tebow sighting at the Cleveland airport have sparked rumors of the Browns signing Tebow. They aren’t.

A league source tells PFT that the Browns won’t be adding Tebow to a quarterback depth chart that is currently short on quarterback talent.

While Browns G.M. Mike Lombardi praised Tebow during the height of Tebowmania, Lombardi said in May that Tebow doesn’t fit the current vision for the franchise.

Even with Brandon Weeden struggling and Jason Campbell not showing enough to leapfrog the 2012 first-round pick, Tebow will continue to be unemployed by the Browns, and any other NFL team.

  • let's hope whoever 'sighted' tim tebow at the airport was either blind as a bat or didn't realize he was waiting on a connecting flight to jacksonville.

I'll have to disagree with ya Tim. I don't think it would help to bring in an equally crappy QB to play equally crappy football just in a different way. There's a good reason the current FA's are available. I'm in no way endorsing Weeden here, but at this point it might as well be Weeden/Campbell or bust. It really does suck but it's the unfortunate truth. If we had an elite run game, I'd be all for getting a Thigpen. But right now as stupid as it sounds Weeden gives us the best chance to put points on the board.

  • Let's be honest: The moment Brian Hoyer went down, the chances of this being a "special season" evaporated. Weeden "is what we thought he was," a guy with a big arm and virtually nothing else. He's played plenty of football and doesn't seem to have a clue as far as reading a defense, negotiating a pocket, dealing with pressure... all the nuances of the position that add up to something much, much bigger.

He won't be the quarterback next year and probably won't be on the roster. And the truth is, we're back to where we were before Hoyer-mania, realizing that we need That Guy at quarterback, so trying to scrape out 7 wins with a more efficient band-aid doesn't really accomplish anything over the long haul.

With Weeden, we're likely to lose 10 games, give or take, and draft in the top 8 or so with another first rounder already slated to help us move up. We'll draft one of the top 3 QBs in a very good QB draft. Right now, today, the top four are Bridgewater, Mariota (closing that gap fast), Hundley and Boyd. The top 3 will come from that group. The Browns have also shown a ton of scouting attention to Johnny Manziel. Questions about his ability to succeed from the pocket seem to be fading after his offseason with George Whitfield. He's looked more like an NFL quarterback this season while also offering that "wow factor" on less conventional plays. I'd probably include him and stretch the list of candidates to five.

My fear on Hundley is this: One of the draftnicks, maybe Jeremiah, said he seems to lack the mental polish that the other top guys possess. I believe CBS said something similar, that he has a lot of "DOH" plays amidst all the promise (of which there is tons). Of that entire group, he's the only one I've read that about... and I frankly think Weeden's a bit of a dim bulb and I'm weary of it. Maybe not flat out Derek Anderson stupid, but not in the zip code of a Luck or Wilson, let alone Peyton, Brady, Brees, or Rodgers.

Bridgewater and Boyd are literally saturated with "intangibles," both smart and mature kids. I don't know much about Mariota off the field but on it he's right there with RG3 with that combo of speed and arm talent. Seriously rare. Tough to think of many other guys who had both. And Manziel is as much fun as you can have watching football with your clothes on. Which I plan to try at some point.

My preference would be Bridgewater, Mariota, or Boyd. They're all awesome. The first two are super "clean" as prospects while Boyd brings the height question (but that's it).

  • It would be Tim Teabags swan song. Can u imagine if he won 8 outta 10 and beat someone good in the playoffs.

Perfect Cleveland lore Tim Tebow is the missing piece. The savior as u will.

Ummm.... no... but I am imagination deficient...

Prolly all that science and stuff I believe in... 😎

Weeden is not the worst qb we've had since 99... Actually he's probably more towards the other end of the scale when u look at all the numbers.

Talk about a career derailed by injury. Chud's may only be 2nd to Greg Cook's.

EDIT: Why does Ch(a)d autocorrect to Chud?

Ah, but had Wheezy not gone down first, we'd have never known how close it was to being a special season...

  • And when Hoyer went down it gave us all the opportunity to fantasize that it was going to be a special season. After two losses you guys would hate him just as bad.

    true that.

believe me there's a lot more wrong on this team than just the QB position. BUT the players did sense a kind of leadership with hoyer in the huddle and on the sidelines that weeden just doesn't possess. he looks like the 'aw shucks' kid that stands around and kicks rocks with nothing to do. look at all the great QBs in this league, if you fuck up on running your route or miss a block they are all up in those players face grabbing their face masks and calling them out in front of the rest of the team. weeden looks like he could give a shit. i think the mold of that big time leadership guy was broken and don't know if they have fixed it yet in anyone i see coming out next year.

on the other hand steve if hoyer hadn't gone down and we had beat detroit, cleveland would be in a frenzy right now.

every team get's bit by the injury bug and he fucking bit our best QB option (for this year IMO) right in the ass.
