One more game and its Mock Draft season

Yay... sounds exciting.

Can't wait for opening day of mock draft season, the best part of football. Thank god for MDS because this current regime can't draft worth a fukc.

The current regime basically threw the 2013 draft down the shitter to stockpile picks for 2014. Can't call them a failure unless they fuck up our 10 draft picks in 2014.

you really believe that? They were expecting Reggie White instead they got Barkevious "Whimbly" what a waste of a top 6 pick. You don't just throw away a top 6 pick. They suck and we will suffer again this year when they "throw away this draft"" because they have no clue.

Ok, look at the rest of the 1st round picks from the 2013 draft and tell me who the Browns should have drafted instead of Mingo. He has had an up and down season but it's not like any other 2013 pick has lit up the NFL.

Mingo has the second-most sacks of any rookie. If he doesn't get any better in the next year or two I will agree that it wasn't a good value, but right now it is too soon to call it a bust.
yeah you cannot even think of calling him a bust. Jordan and Ansah were gone, we needed a pass rusher. He is not gold, but he is far from a bust. I think you give him a year or two more, and he will go from average to good/great. He is only rookieMingo has the second-most sacks of any rookie. sounds just like Whimblys rookie season analysis. A real LB comes on the scene like Clay Matthews did you either have it(clay) or you don't (mingo).

So who was the Clay Matthews of the 2013 draft? You love to bitch and moan but you have yet to indicate who the Brown's should have drafted instead of Mingo.
-
the player I wanted sucked too but its not my job to draft. I wanted Miliner and this year I want Dennard CB from M.State

Mingos issues are coachable ones. He has raw athletic talent (remember his pop-up sack) that can't be coached. If he doesn't become a 10 sack pass rusher, it will be a failure of coaching, not ability.

hes having nowhere near the season Kiko Alonso is having for Buffalo and he wasn't even a 1st round pick

Robert Quinn, Mario Williams, Cameron Jordan, John Abraham, Chandler Jones, Tamba Hall. All first round picks. All in the top 10 among sack leaders. That's 60% of the players in that top 10 category.
Quinn, with 18 sacks this year, had only 5 his rookie year. Mathis had 3.5. Williams had 4.5.

Mingo was being considered as the #1 overall pick for a good chunk of last season, and as he blended in a lot more than he stood out in his last season at LSU, his stock fell quite a bit. The talent is there, though. He showed great instincts early, made a good amount of errors as well, I think he's just a very obvious case of freak athlete learning how to be a defensive end.
I feel like the Browns are in a position to really grow and improve the team going into the draft. We have picks if we want to move up, move down, acquire veterans, and add elite talent. Not sure if I have faith in these guys to pick great players with every pick, but I'm inclined to be optimistic with a team that did all that to put themselves in the position they're in.

Why wait one more game? Lose For Bortles, it's all the rage!

So now you want to play the "what if" game. Alonso has a lot of tackles- Mingo has more sacks. What if every team in the NFL had been brilliant enough to realize Tom Brady was a sure fire HOFer, instead of a throw away 6th round pick? Teams other than the Browns passed on Montana, Marino, and Farve too- so cry me a river. Yup while you're at it, the Chargers were dumb asses taking Teo instead of Alonso by your brilliant 20\20 hindsight analysis
Incidentally Alonzo plays inside, Mingo outside- so you can't really compare- the Browns already had Jackson, and they wanted an outside speed rusher- looks like they got what they wanted.

If they wanted an undersized situational rusher turning in a mediocre performance...then,
yeah.
I was against the Mingo pick from jump street, I just think there were at least four other positions that could have used an upgrade before getting a fourth OLB.

See it how you want to. I may eat crow, but Mingo has some serious talent and think he will be a good LB if not great. I was very much against the pick, I was screaming for Jones. We shall seeIf they wanted an undersized situational rusher turning in a mediocre performance...then,

Just goes to show that you should not pick defensive players from the SEC?
Though, OK, I guess our best defensive player was from the SEC (Haden)

I really don't think conferences have anything to do with how someone will play in the NFL. What conference is central Michigan in?
