I really don't think conferences have anything to do with how someone will play in the NFL. What conference is central Michigan in?

That was a little jibe at TCPO who says you are wrong....conferences....at least the SEC, and the players that come out of there are better than others who join the NFL.

  • hes having nowhere near the season Kiko Alonso is having for Buffalo and he wasn't even a 1st round pick

He's a different breed of LB.

Mingo is going to be good... VERY limited playing time this year, which is fine with me since he was a rookie, but he is the only LB who consistently disrupted the pocket when he was rushing the passer, plus he is very athletic playing in coverage. He needs to play smarter against the run, but I have no doubt he will improve that part of his game.

BTW... It's been mock draft season since Hoyer got hurt... where have you been?

So now you want to play the "what if" game. Alonso has a lot of tackles- Mingo has more sacks. What if every team in the NFL had been brilliant enough to realize Tom Brady was a sure fire HOFer, instead of a throw away 6th round pick? Teams other than the Browns passed on Montana, Marino, and Farve too- so cry me a river. Yup while you're at it, the Chargers were dumb asses taking Teo instead of Alonso by your brilliant 20\20 hindsight analysis

Incidentally Alonzo plays inside, Mingo outside- so you can't really compare- the Browns already had Jackson, and they wanted an outside speed rusher- looks like they got what they wanted.

If they wanted an undersized situational rusher turning in a mediocre performance...then,

    yeah.

I was against the Mingo pick from jump street, I just think there were at least four other positions that could have used an upgrade before getting a fourth OLB.

6'4" 240 is undersized? He can easily add a few pounds if that's what you're worried about. BTW Derrick Thomas was 6'3" 245, and he's in the HOF, Ray Lewis same weight, and 3" shorter.

Depends on your height. If you can't look at Mingo and say he needs to bulk up, look again. Not really concerned about the weight but he definitely needs to get stronger.

Depends on your body type. I can say this- I've met TJ Ward, and I can about guarantee you if you ever saw him in person, you'd never guess in a million years he's a stud NFL player.

People have the Idea you have to be around 260 to play OLB in today's NFL. I disagree. You can get stronger without adding bulk. 🙂 I'm one of those body types- I could go into a gym, lift weights 4 hours a day, and I'd never have an Atlas physique.

Ditto, also met Joe haden. I was like "jeesh these guys aren't much bigger than me"

TJ ward was cool though, I had him autograph my fedora because it's all I had.
