really its for the people that think no one will come here because they are afraid they will get fired after one year? Wow if you go into an interview shaking in your boots you should not be in this business. I want a coach that will look me in the eyes and tell me he will put my team in the playoffs in his first year not some pansy worried about getting fired.

    you're damn right!

Coaches out there will jump at the chance to be the next Head Coach, especially to write their own script of being THE GUY to lead this team to the Super Bowl Finding a coach won't be a problem.

Now see this is interesting. On what basis do you make this assumption? You think there's a high level coach out there that says fuck my ass running these Browns have 11 picks in this years draft I need to get my ass over there asap? Is that really what you think? Cause didn't we whiff on more than one coach last year while having a shit load of cap before we settled on Chud? Didn't Chip end of going to Philly for less money? I mean what are the base facts that lead you to beleive that there's high level coaches getting into fist fights with each other to come to cleveland?

Chip used Cleveland to milk Oregon for more cash, only to leave there when he found out the NCAA was going to sanction his ass.

YOu don't know how the NFL works stop watching it. When "ALL" the pieces are in place you can expect that out of a coach. If Chuds had been coaching the Broncos for instance, and gone 4-11...maybe you would have a point that a guy should be able to squeeze out a .500 season with arguably the best qb that's ever played the game. This isnt' Denver dude. And any coach that looks you in the eye and says I'll get the team into the playoffs in the 1st year...you know what...he'll do everything in his power to do that including selling out the teams future viability for a short term patch that gets the team drummed out 1st round. That's not what I want I don't know about anybody else. I don't want us brining in high priced ass hats to get us to 8-8 and maybe sniff a wildcard spot, but fucks the team over for years to come. Look at what the Redskins got for selling the house on RG. Soooo you need to study the game a bit more dude. Seriously. You don't understand the game.

you are describing the GM duties not the head coach so who knows how it works?

  • It works the same as any other job...benefits, work enviroment, pay, job security, get along with your boss.

    The browns don't pay anybody

    Job security is shit

Work enviroment is a losing culture

    Joe Banner is an asshole

The only benefit is if you get fired after a year you can sip margaritas on the beach with Mike Holmgren and get paid to do it for the next 3 years.

If your being considered for a head coaching job it means your doing pretty well where your at.....I'm gonna stay were I'm at and wait for a better opportunity.

This is so right. Topdawg just read this post and stop it. Just stop. Fuck aren't we still paying Mangini a salary? I mean fuck my ass running thank god coaching salaries don't count against your cap or we wouldn't have as much to play with as we do. Actually this may have been Mangini's final year we were paying him if I remember correclty he had a 5 year deal. So it looks like it's only Shurm and Chuds now on the books for a couple more years. God doesn't that just piss you all off?

  • Hell, who the fuck wouldn't want to coach the Browns? Work one year get paid for five.

  • fuck off.

all i know is for once i'm jealous of philly fans.

and i thought i'd never say that.

chud and them all should be out the door with banner and lombardi leading the way.

doesn't anyone anywhere know how to judge talent and pick them in the draft or FA?

there sure as hell hasn't been anyone in cleveland for a long long time.

and with our QB going down you still put out a piece of shit product like that? see ya chud the dud!

    no emotion. no nothing.

They scored with the #1 so if he continues to improve that draft is going to be counted as a win. He outplayed our 8m hand me down from the Ravens so i'm impressed.

c'mon man. one guy out of how many when we needed all hits?

hey i love mingo but unless mcfadden steps up and becomes a legit backfield player that draft is hardly a 'win'.

  • I think McFadden will be ok, He's shown pretty well for a 3rd round rookie.

Jamoris Slaughter was put on IR at the beginning of the year.

Armonty Bryant has been a situational pass rusher

And Garret Gilkey has filled in at times at guard and got the start today.

So they all have gotten playing time except Slaughter and we have a 3rd and 4th round pick this year that we acquired by trading a 4th and 5th last year.

nothing amazing about any of that.

guess it's time to change your sig now.

  • nothing bad about it either considering they were 3rd, 6th, and two 7th round picks. Only time will tell
