Yes the REFS are always "Helping us" Like the BS Sissy Pass Int. call on McFadden against the Ravens on a 3rd down to Give them an early TD. Or the Holmes "Non-Catch" dont you think IF Theye were Chaeting us those calls would ENDED UP in our favor ? What a Retard , better check the curb and see if the "short-bus" is still waiting on you. Or the 8 times the James Harrison was put in a Sleeper Hold by The Ravens LT. You see everything You see through Brown-Stained Glasses. And you sound incredibly asinine !Read what the hell I post before you reply, I already covered why not every call is going to go your way. People are watching these games and if every call went the steelers way everybody and there mother would know that something was up.
You have refs being paid in basketball for point shaving, you have players being bought for point shaving, but some how we are expected to believe the NFL is above reproach? Why because its YOUR steelers going to the superbowl again? The last superbowl YOUR steelers won was won on shady ass calls and everybody except steeler fans can see that.
The Refs for the NFL arent even full time employes of the NFL, they do it as a part time gig. How increadibly nieve are you to believe that everything is on the up and up? Hell just watch a game that isnt the Steelers playing, (so you dont have your blinders on) and tell me everything is on the up and up. There have been way to many calls that effect the outcome of a game, wether its just enough to make it a closer score for the point spread or or out right help a team win that shouldnt.
The refs should not be making calls that effect a game but you see it week in and week out, and some very shady calls at that. Hell, how about that call that went against you guys against SD in the reg season? A horrible ass call that didnt effect the game but it sure as hell hurt the point spread. Was there any blacklash from that? Very little. I didnt hear about a ref being fired, did you?
Sorry I'm not as nieve as you are to believe that everything is on the up and up but that doesnt mean I belong on a short bus you jackass, I know what the hell I see every damn week, and its some shady ass calls. The NFL is not above reproach, every sport deals with cheating, from college to the pros from basketball to football. So get off your high horse, you know as much as I do wether it goes on or not, which means you know nothing. I believe it does you believe it doesnt, but I have past history on my side showing that betting does effect sports and there legitimacy.

I bother because I love football and I love the Browns but if it continues down this path where it is obvious what is going on then in 5 years I may not be as interested in football.

I honestly feel that betting has taken over the sport of football and the refs have more to do with who wins then most want to believe, and I'm not just talking about the steelers here, I mean several games a week being affected by the powers that be.
There is way to much money on the line with betting to believe that its all legit, if someone can cheat to make a payday they will find a way to do it. Paying off refs is an easy way of doing it and it only takes a few bad calls at a key point in the game to change an out come. Think a momentum shift flag that kills a needed drive or a flag extending a drive that kills the defense's morale.

I don't think that the refs flat out throw the games. It would be too noticeable. However, it is my experience that no process that involves more than a nominal amount of money is a completely clean process. I have seen some really funky calls, dropped passes, weird interceptions, that maybe did not affect the outcome of the game but affected the point spread. That is the important part of the money end anyway, not who wins. It would be interesting to do a study of beating spread vs. not beating spread by ref crew. Of course they could bet either way and there would not be a pattern, in which case you are left with strange stuff happening but no smoking gun.

If you're going to try to piss people off. The least you could do is learn grammar and spelling first.
None of you pussies are even going to the superbowl because you are all bandwagon, front running, bitches. My own Aunt LIVES IN FRICKIN FLORIDA, and is not going. I told her you can bet your ass I'll be at the SB when Cleveland makes it in 2042.
How the hell can you twits claim to be true fans when you won't even go to the most important game in your teams history.

If nothing else, the Cards will win because Kurt Warner lives in fear that if he loses a game, he will be devoured by a terrifying monster...

Okay, a bit of a cheap shot, but still...for God's sake, she looks like the love child of Christopher Walken and Johnny Unitas.

Fully understand you first statement. As far as the rest ...Come one dude there are MILLIONS of Steeler Fans ( Browns Fans as well ) And I am thinking that The Stadium in Tampa has about 65,857
seats that last time I looked.... This think called MATHAMATICS , makes your statement ASININE !!! Add to that this other thing Call Economics, and supply and demand also Play a part in the fact that the VAST Majority of ANY Teams fans CAN NOT Go ...to the Super Bowl if their team happens to get there. So stop this Stupid rant about "What kind of fan are You " ...it makes NO Sense !!

The Cardinals lost a lot of east coast games because they were all played at 1:00 EST.

They also traveled to that city 24-48 hours before the game. They arrived in TB today. Big difference.
All west coast teams struggle when going east, mainly because of time change/jet lag.
And after all, ARZ traveled to the east coast to thump CAR.

I hate whining and the Browns fans have turned into a bunch of whiners and gutless whiners at that.
That said I am a Browns fans............and a Steelers fan
this crap on this thread about Steelers getting favoritism is pathetic, in fact the ref's blew every call against the Ravens to help them to win..........and ignored Harrison being held a bunch of times
That all said.........
Super Steelers
Win the Super Bowl
34-17
and us Browns fans instead of hating em and wishing bad should just be simple and emulate.......we took the slug slow crybaby Winslow and they took future hall of famer Ben when he was there for the picking by us
Being a dumb team..............yep we are dumb team
leads to losing
Time to get heads outta asses and start doing what is to be winning..........copying the Steelers would not be all bad

Funny you should say that because you seem to be one of the biggest whiners/complainers I've seen on this site.

Do you actually understand what the word rivalry means?

The Steelers win because of their defense - not because of Ben - and sometimes in spite of him (like SB40 for example). I don't think anybody (except the Steelers fans) are ready to put him in the H.O.F. yet.

We seem to be trying to copy a winning team and it isn't the Steelers. It's the Patriots, which have been the far more successful team this past decade, so we'll see how that turns out.

It hasn't been a heated rivalry the past decade. Some of you guys are taking this rivalry to the borderline of stupidity.

No, we don't ask Ben to throw 30+ passes and 3+ touchdowns a game, but that doesn't mean he isn't good. We just ask him to win games. Do you remember the game this year when Steelers played Cowboys and Ravens(The 2nd meeting? Ben won both those games with amazing fourth quarter comebacks. You point out Ben's poor stats in SB XL, (although he did do enough to win) but you don't point out his stats in the three away playoff games leading up to the SB in which Ben throw 2+ against the three best teams in the AFC. Ben is on pass to break every Steeler passing record and have most 4th quarter/OT comeback wins in NFL history. (Surpassing Elway, who currently is #1) Steelers have one of if not the best strategy for running an NFL team. (We are expected to have more SB win then anyother team in less then one week. I'll take SB wins over 4,000 passing yards ine 5 consecutive seaons. Not many Steeler fans thinks he is HOF material yet, but winning his second SB this week and playing like he has his first five years will get him in for sure.

Patriots= Won three SBs while cheating
Steelers= Won five SBS (expected to have six) without cheating.
Belichick is a good coach to copy off of (minus the cheating and lack of class) to build a winning dynasty. Steelers are a good team to copy for long term success. If you can successfully copy either, you will have a good team. But how can you say the Patriots have a much better plan for success then the Steelers?

Brownsfan17 was rattling in his father's bawls when I was rooting for both the Steelers and Browns and remain to this day a fan of both.
Now, as far as Steelers winning in spite of Ben. That is hilarious. The guy is a winner a big time winner. Barring an injury he will be HOFER. He wins games period!
Otto Graham did not have much in terms of stats.............all he did was win championships
In the end for a QB it all boils down to W's and L's

Did you watch SB40? They did win in spite of him. The best QB's play at the top of their game under the big lights so we'll see how he does on Sunday.

Obviously, if you don't understand it then you are either really young or a bandwagon fan. Which is it?

You don't ask him to because he isn't good at it. He is a game manager. My point is that he will never be a Peyton Manning or Tom Brady (shoe-ins for the H.O.F.)
We just ask him to win games. Do you remember the game this year when Steelers played Cowboys and Ravens(The 2nd meeting? Ben won both those games with amazing fourth quarter comebacks. Could having the stingiest D have helped with that? It's a hell of alot easier to come back when the other team isn't scoring.

Cheating? Don't be a hypocrite. Many have said the same about the Steelers.

In the past 15 years:
Patriots - 5 trips to the SB. Won 3 times. Went 16-0.
Steelers - 3 trips to SB. Won 1 (maybe 2 - we'll see).
Both impressive but the Pats are obviously superior.
