Who is the number one player you want in the 2014 draft?

Watch this past seasons game vs. Boise State. Then get back to me. Derek spread the ball all over the field and shredded them. He made play after play and with the game on the line, under extreme pressure, drove the ball down the field and pulled off the victory.
So what if he had a bad bowl game. He should have gotten the Heisman but was snubbed, typical. Should go to the best senior, which Carr was. Most yards, ton of TDs, give me a break- he wasn't even close. All players lose sometimes. Hell, look at the NFL, Rodgers is at home, all but 4 are watching with the rest of us, there's some good ones out too, but in the end only 1 will win the Lombardi.
And obviously, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh sees enough in Colt McCoy to have him the heir apparent should something happen to Kap. He's scrambling and taking hits, it's just a matter of time until Colt will need to step in and Jim is fine with Colt doing that, even if it's the Superbowl.
NOW, I'm sorry if you don't care for my opinion of Colt, but an NFL head coach like Harbaugh's opinion carries a hell of a lot more weight than your gay fucking noodle arm statement.
Regardless of what you think, we were much closer to being a relevant franchise again when Colt was the QB than we were this last year with the revolving door of cow shit we had slinging it across the field. And Colt didn't even have a WR worth his weight in salt(AND SALT IS FUCKING CHEAP)!
Arm Strength is something you need to go learn a thing or two about, I think you are confused about what is important and just how much "arm strength" is needed. You can have all the arm strength in the world but if attached to Brandon Weeden it doesn't really matter. Your arm strength attached to Peyton Manning could still be enough to get the job done. It's irrelevant.

David Carr was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft, the first draft pick in the history of the Houston Texans, but never became the cornerstone of the franchise. Now, with the Texans in free fall and clearly in need of a new long-term answer at quarterback, could Carr's younger brother -- Fresno State senior Derek Carr -- be the answer?
One general manager told NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport on Wednesday he believes that Carr could be the first player selected in the 2014 NFL Draft.
Teddy Twatwater of Louisville has long been the presumptive favorite to be the first quarterback off the board since demolishing Florida's talented defense in the 2013 Sugar Bowl.
But concerns will linger about whether Bridgewater's slender frame he's listed at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds), can handle the punishment NFL defenses deliver, in spite of his ability to deliver the miraculous.
From a physical standpoint, Carr (6-3, 218) is more of a finished product with his sturdy frame, top-flight arm strength, and underrated mobility. His production cannot be disputed. He threw for 4,866 yards and 48 touchdowns this season to lead the FBS in both categories while guiding the Bulldogs to an 11-1 record and Mountain West Conference championship. Carr will get one more chance to bolster those credentials in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 21 against a ferocious USC pass rush.
But as Rapoport asked the GM, "What if (the) Texans have (the) No. 1 pick?" Would the organization be able to separate Derek Carr the prospect from David Carr the Houston Texan washout? What about the fans?
They should be able to distinguish between the two. The Texans aren't an expansion franchise anymore, instead possessing a roster with two top receivers in stalwart Andre Johnson and standout rookie DeAndre Hopkins, an offensive line that has actually surrendered fewer sacks than the New England Patriots this season, and a loaded defense anchored by superstar defensive end J.J. Watt.
The Texans have lost their last seven games by a total of 29 points, which reflects specific breakdowns and not a glaring lack of talent like David Carr encountered.
Add Derek Carr to that nucleus and he could easily be the catalyst for an immediate turnaround, similar to what Russell Wilson offered the Seattle Seahawks and Andrew Luck the Indianapolis Colts as rookies last season.
------------------------------------------------------
Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Haters. Russell Wilson? Andrew Luck? Number 1 overall? Hmm, seems like I'm not the only one that thinks D.C. is legit. At least one NFL General Manager agrees with me.

Colt was worth a 6th round pick to them.
Alex Smith, Ryan Tannehill, Palmer, Flacco, Newton, Cutler, Dalton, Hoyer, Ben, Stafford, Bradford, Foles, Glennon, and almost every other starter you can name is a better QB than Colt.
Colt is their backup, they have him because he was cheap.
I'd be fine with Colt as a backup, not a starter.
And Colt's arm isn't just a noodle, it's a flabbery piece of over cooked angel hair.
Hoyers arm isn't a cannon, but it's still better than McCoys.
And McCoys only fault isn't his noodle arm it's just one of them. He could compensate for his noodle arm by getting passes over defenders, putting the ball on target, and making quick progressions.
But he doesn't. He's an average backup with a noodle arm. I prefer Hoyer and Campbell over him tbh.

lol, okay sure, keep jacking off to Weeden's cannon throws to the turf! LOL I'd take McCoy's average arm and leadership, to what we have now. Hoyer = McCoy in almost every aspect. Same arm different face, like I said whatever helps you sleep at night.
Almost everyone wanted to see what Colt could do with some weapons around him and a right fucking tackle that didn't give DEs a free ride to the QB. When we got T-Rich we were that close... then we drafted Weeden, and well, you know the rest. Good times, right? No. So don't tell me what you think you know. You don't.
-
And so what if the 49er only had to give up a 6th for him. That F.O. would have given him away for anything to get Colt out of here after the way they fucked him.
"Oh yeah, we believe Colt can be the guy...yada yada yada" They fucked him in the concussion thing, over and over again, wake up to what is really going on.

Hoyer = Colt except he makes progressions faster, is more accurate, and he can throw the ball over his offensive line.lol, okay sure, keep jacking off to Weeden's cannon throws to the turf! And Trent is worse than the running back we pulled out of the depths on the Cowboys practice squad.
You must be a big SEC fan?

No..he's gay and delusional...or worse yet.."Lumburgh"

I was originally going to ask if he was a longhorn fan, but Trent went to bama.
I wasn't going to attack him personally tho

God I hope so~! I guess I just have an eye for talent. It just comes natural.
Your talent meter needs a trip to the repair shop. Colt may have a nice long career as a backup, but Richardson will be out of the league within 3 years.
Yup, a beastly 2.9 ypc, and like 4 carries for a yard in the Playoffs, ooh, man- I really want him back on the Browns- NOT!!!!

Poetic G says a lot of strange things, but lets not forget that he also makes some viable points. Obviously McCoy and Weeden were both inadequate quarterbacks, but Weeden had a FAR better situation as far as weapons and protection. The fact that Weeden couldn't deliver more wins than McCoy with the offensive upgrades he had truly speaks to his incompetence as an NFL qb.
McCoy was behind half of an O-line with Massoquai and Little and a far less qualified coach calling the plays.
The main problem, in my eyes, is that Weeden didn't come out earlier. If we had drafted him instead of McCoy, chances are good we would've been in position to draft Luck. Just think about Weeden playing behind the right side of the line that McCoy had to deal with! No Gordon, no TR (he DID have 12 Tds and over 1300 all purpose yards). Weedster would've set records for sacks taken as well as interceptions.
It all would've served the greater good, the browns would've been lucky to limp out of the 2011 season with one win, and we'd be watching the 2013 Browns in the playoffs under Andrew Luck's leadership. We'd be talking about the first round pick we got from Indy as if it was our first (because it would be) and things would be far more laid back here on the browns board.
We wouldn't be bitching about how lucky Indy is for going from Manning to Luck with only one down year. Fuck, Indy is going to be relevant for another ten years fresh off of their recent winnings due to their QB play....
So yes, McCoy is much better than Weeden, and yes the Browns SHOULD'VE drafted Weeden, they just did it at the wrong time. If that goofy bastard had only come out two years earlier, damn...

McCoys ceiling is an OK backup.
Weedens ceiling is practice squad starter.
McCoy is far from being the same as Hoyer, even if Hoyer stays a backup he's a damn better backup than McCoy.

Without question, Hoyer is absolutely better than McCoy.
Comparing just about anyone to weeden will make them look like a star.

I voted for Watkins as I don't feel Manziel will be there at 4. However, I would be just as happy if we pick Bridgewater, Bortles or Manziel at 4. I just don't want the FO to use the 2nd 1st round pick to move up in the draft.
