Sorry, you are wrong.....do some research, talk to a chemist.

I'm a licensed chemical dependency counselor and have been working in the field for nearly 10 years. I have written test questions for the international certification exam you would have to pass to become a professional in my field of work. I have supervised 30+ clinicians, and have been through 500+ hours of specialized training in chemical dependence, on top of my Master's degree. I have dedicated my life to understanding the ways substances work in the brain and body, as well as how addictions develop, and how to prevent addictions and treat people who have them...

But I only know one thing for sure... YOU, my friend, are wrong...

Maybe you should find a better chemist to talk to. Not just your crystal meth dealer. I wouldn't really trust his credentials...

I'll bet you see more problems with stuff like opiates, heroin, coke, meth, and even alcohol than cannabis.

I think the NFL's rules regarding cannabis, and our laws against cannabis are ridiculous, and quite frankly it looks as if the tide is turning as more and more Americans are OK with ending prohibition. I look at it like this. It would be one thing if he took performance enhancing drugs such as steroids, because that is cheating. Suspend his ass, because there is no place for cheating! The DUI is a problem of course, because is actions could have killed someone! Not to mention, when you make that much money for Christ sakes call a cab, or a limo! On the other hand if these players want to smoke a little weed in the privacy of their own home, and aren't harming anyone in the process, who the fuck cares? It's a good bet a large segment of NFL players partake anyway.

I have zero issues with cannabis. I'm a proponent of its legalization for rec and medicinal. In josh Gordon's case and its where everyone seems to want to skim over is whether he was taking a PED or smoking weed he was still regularly breaking the rules.

Good to know you're a supporter! I think within the next 5-10 years prohibition on the federal level goes bye bye. As for Gordon breaking the rules, yes he did. I won't argue that. I simply find the NFL's stance on it to be quite ridiculous as well as draconian in nature.

  • Other than bickering about THC levels, does anyone have any info on when they plan on doing the actual vote on this?

Most problems seem to be with heroin and opioid pain killers, especially in the past 5-6 years. Alcohol is still a close second. The rest are tied for third most common. Coke is not as common as it used to be, and meth doesn't seem to have reached NE Ohio too bad, yet. I see a lot of marijuana users, most of whom have had DWI's, even caused accidents driving high, or their families just got sick of how lazy they are...

  • Uggg, I am not going to even get in the weed debate here. But people sometimes when you smoke pot it is NOT inhaled to the lungs making it FIRST hand smoke. WTF. Like there is some imagery weed filter in the air.

My argument/question is that Goodell made the decision even though that from the same 2 samples one tested below the 15 whatever level. He would of be not guilty in the court of law. So if the new 50 whatever gets set, does this act like a court of law NOW and hold him to that 15 whatever standard. Someone with more knowledge about the players union should know. Because obviously it does not follow American justice standards.

  • Another Jets fan here.

I've been on this forum before, and was always welcomed well. Thank you for that.

A few things regarding Gordon's case:

    1. The test threshold is extremely low, and although an argument can be made that "why is he exposed to marijuana in the first place", it is unfair that a teacher, soldier and police officer can have higher levels and still not test "positive". How does that make any sense?

    2. How can the NFL justify punishing one player for being 1 ng/ml over the previous threshold (15 ng/ml), but then someone who has 48 ng/ml gets no punishment under the newly proposed rule?

    3. I'm not saying players shouldn't break the law, but Gordon isn't punching women in the face. The DUI is concerning, and he needs to get his life in order - let alone his NFL career. It seems he's on his way with an honest job. Getting his life in order is more important than anything else, but he can't do it alone. Hopefully this entire situation is a wake up call for good.

I always liked the Browns. There have been times where I went out of my way as a Jets fan to watch. Gordon made the Browns extremely fun to watch, as he's easily one of the most entertaining players in the NFL via his play.

Trust me. While I support legalization, I do not advocate driving under the influence. You're just asking for problems. But yeah I can see why folks could be admitted for marijuana due to it's status of being illegal. They're being forced to because of the legal issue of getting a DUI. We can and will probably disagree on this, but there isn't conclusive evidence of cannabis being a physically addictive substance like opiates, heroin, or meth. Psychologically? Sure. But then again, one could also get psychologically addicted to eating Doritos. At any rate, withdrawl symptoms are nowhere near as severe as withdrawl from opiate, heroin, meth, or even alcohol. I'm also of the school of thought that use does not necessarily mean abuse.

When you mention eating a cookie or brownie, it has usually been made by someone who knew what they were doing and "cooked" it. If you just grind up weed and put it in cookies or brownies it will do little more than make the cookie or brownie taste bad. This isn't rocket science guys, it's pretty common knowledge.

i guess for those that are stoners.

sure i could find a recipe for how to bake a correct mary jane brownie but i doubt that it is common knowledge to 80% of the world.

Cooked? You mean like baked in the oven and everything? Would seem logical since getting ground up weed in a Little Debbie would take some effort...

Well, finally a subject I know all about.....haha....sad, but true....

    1) You misinterpreted the High Times article you read. You DEFINITELY get high from eating pot, even if it's raw pot. Positively absolutely very very high. And it is a different type of high, due to the way your body processes it. It also stays detectable in your system MUCH longer because it is attached to fat cells(ONLY because of the digestive process)....but this "attachment" has nothing to do with how one gets high and it is just residual byproduct of what you've eaten....

    2) So, the fat cells(in your body) have nothing to do with ANY of this or how your body absorbs pot. The FAT comments were there to suggest the best way to eat pot is to concentrate and bind it with fat for ingestion....which is to make a concentrated extraction called butter/paste/oil(all the same thing basically) and mix it with a fat(cream, butter, etc) that will be dissolved "better and faster" by your digestive system when eaten and prevent the THC from vaporizing during the heating process

    3) HEAT or solvents(90 % alcohol is the safest and works best) are used to extract the CB's and THC from the pot to make the concentrated paste/butter. Most often solvents are used, as too much heat can ruin the product if not properly controlled.

    4) And making brownies with straight up organic weed WILL get you very high....but weed really doesnt taste good and, if it's not broken down onto a concentrate, it takes a lot more of it to get you high....which, again, makes your brownies not as good tasting......so, stoners who want the best buzz and best tasting brownies use cannabis oil to cook....rookies use straight up weed

Id also add that "ingested" pot will stay in your system at much higher levels for much longer periods of time(cause of the fat cell thing)...

Good stuff! Finally someone who can state some factual information without being belligerent. But the original discussion was about second hand smoke and while eating "raw" pot can get you high if you eat enough of it, the bottom line is that concentrating it by heating it and bonding it with fat is much, much, more powerful because of the combination of heat and body fat. So.............the point is that once the first hand smoker has heated it by lighting it, absorbed it, and exhaled it, there just isn't going to be much left by the time it drifts 10 feet away and is inhaled in a diluted form with fresh air. I'd bet you could be in the presence of second hand pot smoke for a long time without it showing up at any level.......too bad there are no tests to prove it one way or the other (I wonder why)

Im no expert on second hand smoke, but I would say there are 2 kinds.....one is smoke that has been inhaled and exhaled by someone and the other being ambient smoke coming off a joint or something......Id think "ambient" smoke could get you pretty high if you inhale enough of it.....like a car full of smoke, for example.....think about paint fumes or other things that can effect you when not directly inhaled to get the idea.......

I heard owners had put in proposal that called for suspending players prior to adjudication of DUI's. Big change from the current "let the legal process play out" stance.

I wonder if it was meant to be a Poison Pill.

You are really thick! Cooked meaning that it was maintained at 200-225 degrees in oil or butter until all the THC has transferred to the oil or butter then using the butter to make the brownies. Throwing a handful of weed into a brownie mix won't work!

Just like football some of you simply aren't willing to accept reality.

Thick? Moi? No... but will admit I was not familiar with the term cook as you used it. Please answer the following to help fill my education gap...

How do you know when "all of the THC has transferred to the oil or butter"? Color change? Odor?

Why does baking the brownies not work since brownie batter calls for vegetable oil or shortening? The oil is there... the contact is guaranteed... and the batter should inhibit vaporization retaining more THC than say an open pan...

    What exactly is shortening?

As for my football reality... it's fine, thank you... How's your's?

Yeah....I would agree that all smoke has something in it. Just think ambient smoke will have a higher concentration. And I would think the BOTH are present in almost all "smoky" situations. And, no, I dont believe that the temperature of the smoke has any bearing at all.....

...by the time it's "smoke", the chemicals have already been vaporized and are in there. And cooling of the smoke doesn't make them go away.....it just changes their state.....IE: gas, liquid, solid.....

In fact, cooling the smoke will turn the vapor back into a liquid(microscopic though), which actually gets you higher than the gas(vapor).....an example of this would be the used of a bong, using WATER or ICE to cool your smoke....this actually reassembles the vaporized THC into a liquid which will be more concentrated and get you higher....

  • Per Dustin Fox :

Mike Cairns @MikeCairns5 · 36m Ed Werder reporting on ESPN that NFL players have agreed on raising testing threshold for pot which would immediately bring 20players back
  • @douche-nozzle said:

I wondered about the bong effect but don't you think that a bong simply reduces the temp from 250-300 degrees (for example) to 150-175 degrees, both of which will still bond with the fat molecules in your lungs.......just sting a little less?

Yes. It definitely diminishes the burn(sting) on your body too. But temp is the thing with THC.....

    314 degrees = vapor

    95-313 degrees = liquid

    below 95 = solid

So....the bottom line is that ALL thc entering your system is done in the liquid state....IE: you cant inhale 300 degree anything and it has to be that hot to be a vapor....and anything you ingest thats cooler will be raised at least to body temperature(98).....

So....if the bong cools it to 300 degs or 200 degs or 150 degs or 99 degs...it doesnt matter. The THC is still in the same liquid state.

And any ambient smoke(in the air) will have the full load of THC.....if it's 99 degs or 300 degs....

  • Baking raw pot will get you high, but It will suck compared to what you could do. Do you make a habit of microwaving filet? Sautée that shit in some coconut butter, make some fucking cookies, and eat that shit up, yo. I recommend taking several bong rips, bowl hits, vapor hits, vapor pen hits, blunt rips, joint rips, use a needle and coke can and rip that, take a 20oz coke bottle(plastic please) and an emptied out pen, flip the metal part of the pen, tape it to the body, poke a hole in the bottle and place pen in then rip away, you can sauté it and then let it harden and rub it all over you body. Shit, you can even make sunscreen out of it and get high.

Second hand smoke also gets you high.

I fucking love weed. Seriously, I won't quit for anything. Josh is a dumbshit for getting caught. There are many ways around it. I get tested every so often, and to date I've yet to fail. Thing is, I don't even hide the fact that I am a devote pothead from most people. That includes the people that test me. I've passed saliva tests, spontaneous blood testing, and various piss tests. Law states I have two hours to report to test. More than enough time if one is prepared.

As well, I will say this about pot: I left Florida for California to get physical therapy for March and April of this year. I left the hospital and threw away the opiates I was given by the doctors there, and picked up pot cookies, coconut/thc based butters for joint/nerve pain. The best prognosis I received from a doctor in Tampa was to be "normal" again within a year if I worked hard. "Normal" meaning I wouldn't have to have a nurse help me piss/shit, I could use my hands to grasp things, and maybe only be using a cane to help walk. I stopped seeing those goons when within two weeks of dropping those opiates I was using a cane and shooting free throws in my sister's driveway. What does that have to do with this?

I do believe thc is kind of a performance enhancing drug. Maybe not to those that want to smoke it all the time, which I am guilty of as well, but as far as healing goes, don't knock it till you use the stuff, it is simply remarkable. I couldn't feel my right side and most said it wouldn't come back, but two months of coco/pot butter, and I was swinging a club again. Within six months, my average drive is at 280+

As well, when rubbing in the thc based butters, it is somewhat deluded, and I wouldn't be surprised if that is what Josh uses.

I had a different account on here, but I lost my info. So, it does come with a price.
