Gordon Coming Back?
-
Other than bickering about THC levels, does anyone have any info on when they plan on doing the actual vote on this?
Along the lines of this :
Albert Breer @AlbertBreer · 27s Source says there were issues with the proposal that the NFL put in front of the players tonight, to the point where it wasn't worth voting.
Last update was it's back to the Lawyers to iron out some things and they hope to vote tonight.
I think I saw one sticking point was the DUI provisions/punishments.

That was my guess, also.... Goodell set the precedent by letting the Irsay case play out in court- and the players have got him by the you know what over that point. And it wasn't just weed in Irsay's case- it was controlled substances- not sure if he had coke in the car, but I do know with $20,000 in cash on him, he wasn't going down to the local supermarket to pick up groceries for dinner that night.
I heard owners had put in proposal that called for suspending players prior to adjudication of DUI's. Big change from the current "let the legal process play out" stance.
I wonder if it was meant to be a Poison Pill.
Hopefully, they drop that, and make it a 2 game suspension on conviction.

Are you guys prepared for the possibility that Gordon doesn't come back simply because of his host of violations? Regardless of the threshold for pot being changed the league may look at Gordons body of work and maintain his suspension?
I suppose you could get your hopes up "for conduct detrimental to the image of the league". However, nothing substantive until Josh's DUI hearing- in November.
I mean really- they're letting that ex-Cowboy back in- and he not only had a DUI, he killed the passenger in his car- vehicular homicide. Ditto Donte Stallworth after he took out a pedestrian DUI.

To be technically correct, yes the chances decrease, but I'm not too worried about 99% decreasing to 97%.
But if the NFL upholds his suspension due to his repetition, are you prepared to deal with it or are you preparing your "the NFL hates US"....."we got screwed" speeches?
It's like this guy- two of those strikes- phenergan, and a trace, and I do mean trace of THC are bullshit, and you know it.
BTW, Josh sold his first car yesterday.

And what would this "body of work" consist of? Driving with .001 too much alcohol, for which he hasn't had a hearing yet?
Actually the NFL would owe him for a game check, unless they want to count that first week for the DUI arrest, and then suspend him again later for two games if he is convicted.

I think one of the things being put into the new policy is 2 games for your first dui offense. So I would assume if he is found quilty for the DUI, and he is reinstated to play this week, then he would only have to serve 1 game later in the season.

And Gluehead renders his drivel. The list of Josh Gordons violation of rules at every level of his football career is as long as your imagination. He's in stage 3 for a reason gluehead!
But he's already been penalized for everything but the DUI. You're just not a smart man.

Those are "your opinions" ...... I am not lobbying for different tolerances or Josh Gordon's punishment, all I am asking is if I can expect the typical whining and boo-hooing if his suspension is upheld? When a typical Browns fan goes out in the rain he gets wet because God hates Browns fans. When the Browns lose it's because the refs screwed them, the other team cheated, the NFL hates them, this guy missed that play, and that guy missed this play....why isn't it ever simply because they are what their record says they are?
....this is a bald-face troll, Steeler fans cry harder than any other fan base about the refs.
We all complain about the refs as they are only human and bound to make mistakes, but yinzers seemingly take pleasure in elevating their bellyaching to vaudevillian levels.

This is exactly the kind of stuff I come here for, you guys actually believe this stuff

it's just observable science, I've been exposed to a lot of steeler fans and have witnessed them foaming at the mouth at any call against their team.

Rumor: Josh Gordon says that he will play on Sunday for Cleveland Browns

yeah, I guess you're right. You're in a far better position to audit my life experiences. lol, I'm done feeding the troll.

When you mention eating a cookie or brownie, it has usually been made by someone who knew what they were doing and "cooked" it. If you just grind up weed and put it in cookies or brownies it will do little more than make the cookie or brownie taste bad. This isn't rocket science guys, it's pretty common knowledge.
Well, finally a subject I know all about.....haha....sad, but true....
1) You misinterpreted the High Times article you read. You DEFINITELY get high from eating pot, even if it's raw pot. Positively absolutely very very high. And it is a different type of high, due to the way your body processes it. It also stays detectable in your system MUCH longer because it is attached to fat cells(ONLY because of the digestive process)....but this "attachment" has nothing to do with how one gets high and it is just residual byproduct of what you've eaten....
2) So, the fat cells(in your body) have nothing to do with ANY of this or how your body absorbs pot. The FAT comments were there to suggest the best way to eat pot is to concentrate and bind it with fat for ingestion....which is to make a concentrated extraction called butter/paste/oil(all the same thing basically) and mix it with a fat(cream, butter, etc) that will be dissolved "better and faster" by your digestive system when eaten and prevent the THC from vaporizing during the heating process
3) HEAT or solvents(90 % alcohol is the safest and works best) are used to extract the CB's and THC from the pot to make the concentrated paste/butter. Most often solvents are used, as too much heat can ruin the product if not properly controlled.
4) And making brownies with straight up organic weed WILL get you very high....but weed really doesnt taste good and, if it's not broken down onto a concentrate, it takes a lot more of it to get you high....which, again, makes your brownies not as good tasting......so, stoners who want the best buzz and best tasting brownies use cannabis oil to cook....rookies use straight up weed
Id also add that "ingested" pot will stay in your system at much higher levels for much longer periods of time(cause of the fat cell thing)...

So I did a littler homework and to me it seems as though the heat has much more of a function than simply vaporizing per Choco's comment. I could be wrong but I see the following as the purpose:
I would assume first we are generally talking about strains that have been bred to maximize the end goal of high THC content. In those strains the raw weed contains high levels of THCA. THCA is THC with a carboxyl group attached. THCA has limited to no psychoactive properties. When you heat the weed (flame, vaporizer, oven etc) the carboxyl is removed leaving pure THC. This process is called decarboxylation. As I understand it there are a quite a few other cannabinoids with carboxyl groups attached that also convert to THC and / or an active version of their selves during the heating process.
Some people argue that proper curing is sufficient for the decarboxylation process but I cannot find any actual data to support that. At the very least it is very safe to assume that heating increases the potency dramatically.
Someone earlier was talking about fats and I think their point was poorly presented and subsequently misunderstood. The point had nothing to do with body fat. THC and the other cannabinoids are hydrophobic oils. Hydrophobic oils are not water soluble but are soluble in alcohol and fats. By dissolving in alcohol , fats or other oils the bioavailability via oral delivery is greatly enhanced. This is why butters and tinctures are so popular.
Like I said, this was just some quick homework. If it is incorrect post data / studies to support your argument. Perhaps you can find a study that indicates a high presences of THC rather than THCA in the raw weed.
Correct....good call. So I did some digging myself. Sparing the details, THCa shows up in tests anyhow, and decarbonization would be complete in second hand smoke. So in regards to josh, it only helps the story. So I did a littler homework and to me it seems as though the heat has much more of a function than simply vaporizing per Choco's comment. I could be wrong but I see the following as the purpose:
Decarbonization was interesting reading. The rate is increased by heat, so I swung and missed there for sure ...at least on the requirement for heat. Yet the body can process THCa into THC given enough time. Which actually explains some things for me about those years of school...
So good for the nozzle....he got one detail right....
Anyway....what will truly test rog's sak is if he has the balls to continue the suspension for any reason. DUI is another issue. So under the new proposition, there would be no failed test, as the 50ng threshold would not have been exceeded. The argument of contention. Which heavily depends on the wording is that josh's "failure" was in December of 2013, so some have concluded some language could effect josh and not others. Hence this'll test goodells metal....if he hardliners against only josh, his already battered image will be under fire once again by those with an Axe to grind.
Now, if the NFLPA agrees to let goodell levy suspensions for DUI before the trial, then josh is still fucked.

Please dont attack me if your a peta person or animal lover. Im just relating the story. My Mom and my wife both work in the same place(which will remain anonymous) and they do medical testing on lots of animals. Right now, they have a pregnant goat and are testing her for a long list of things, including how cig smoke effects a fetus and the addictiveness of pot. The goat is in a plastic tent and smoke is administered threw a tube and blown into the inside air. The goat can also "activate" the smoke(pot or ciggy) by pressing the proper pedal and getting more smoke. And I promise, the goat likes it all. Pretty much pedal to the metal....
So, from this I can assume that the medical experts think "second hand" or "ambient" smoke is good enough for medical testing. And that thje goat is getting her Nicotine and THC from second hand smoke....

I love it! So let me ask you this......notwithstanding the ambient smoke that drifts off the joint or pipe, what % of the original the THC that was inhaled and then exhaled would you think comes out to be re-inhaled? And then, of all the smoke, ambient and exhaled, what % does ambient represent?
Honestly, I have no clue. It probably depends on a lot of things. A joint/blunt puts off LOTS of smoke because it's always burning. A bong or pipe puts most of the smoke straight into your lungs. Are we in a big room or a small room..
But, I would guess under the right conditions, a big phat blunt or 2 burned in a car with the windows closed would do the trick...

Its possible.....you said it wasn't. Now please put the keyboard down. You're what's wrong with steelers fans. To prideful to admit being wrong.
As far as percentages, that's a terrible question when talking about atoms. Ever heard of avagadros number? Of course you haven't. Too busy trying to sound smart that actually to be smart. There's still 21 significant digits left when you numerate the ℅.

The league needs to get off the Ray Rice crap, so they can pass these new SA Policy rules and get Gordon back on the field!!
