Ding Ding Ding we have a winner.

  • Once again taken out of context. Why did you not present the entire verse? Because you are lazy and only seek to affirm an opinion you already established rather than to understand with an open mind. Here is what you omitted:

4:88-91 Why should ye be divided into two parties about the Hypocrites? Allah hath upset them for their (evil) deeds. Would ye guide those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way? For those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way, never shalt thou find the Way. They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): so take not friends from their ranks until they forsake the domain of evil in the way of God (from what is forbidden). But if they revert to [open] enmity enmity, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them;"

Point 1: The "Hypocrites" that the Quran talks about are a specific group that was persecuting and killing Muslims at the time. This verse is talking about how to respond to them, not instructing Muslims in general to run off and kill non believers.

Point 2: it specifically talks about reverting to open enmity. Reverting from what? From the peace treaty they had made with the Muslim, which is something they did several times. Thus from the context we know this is talking about fighting people who broke a peace treaty by reverting to killing and persecuting Muslims.

The same thing applies to verse 9:11 and 9:12. This is again not talking about apostasy, it is talking about the pagans who were persecuting the Muslims at the time, something made clear by the earlier verses of this chapter.

And for the record, you confuse being educated with being religious. You are the one who is being an asshole to everyone on this forum, so that label applies to you, not me.

    No, it applies to you.

How many videos do we need to post of Muslim clerics and Muslims stating apostates and or infidels should be killed, or that its OK to marry and fuck a 9yr. old, or the proper way to beat your wife... for deniers like you to get it?

Spoken like a true religious pig defending a vile, disgusting, violent, and misogynistic religion.

If you are seriously defending all the horrible things in the Quran, you're totally fucked in the head.

I don't need you translate it for me. It's not taken out of context. Islamic Law states all apostates should be put the death you denial and delusional fuck.

Nice backtracking you originally said it was in the Quran. I have proven that it is not, and now you say Islamic Law. You don't even understand the material. You are like a kindergartener trying to understand organic chemistry. Just because you are too dim-witted to understand history and context does not mean it doesn't exist. You are a pathetic human being who can't support an argument without resorting to fuck and faggot.

Woody is right, you should be banned from here. My job here is done.

  • What's the matter did stewy get banned again and that's why you're back as stewie? Thought we wouldn't notice. But we did.

  • Orisis,

The Quran and The Bible as well are full of violent, hateful, and disturbing images and the fact you defend it and say I'm taking it out of context...

NO I'M NOT, IT LITERALLY FUCKING SAYS THESE THINGS but like most religious morons you deny facts. Faith>Facts in your world.

  • Explain this one ya dumbass.

Quran (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

  • Yeah, I'm a scientist, so yep, I like facts. Fact is, you don't appear to even understand the concept of context. It means you are taking one-line quotes and leaving the stuff out that makes it clear these quotes refer to historical events and are not commandments that Muslims are expected to follow literally today. It's like reading Snow White and saying all old women are commanded to give poisoned apples to young brunettes. The Quran is a narrative not a freaking instruction manual to be taken literally.

    1. I don't need a religious D-BAG like you who believes in fairy tales to translate the text for me.

    2. Then why do all Islamic countries enforce these laws and take them literally. (Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran) Why are women to be covered up in this country which is what they do?

Once again, you are so fucked in the head with that religion...

WHY DO MUSLIM WOMEN COVER UP IN THOSE COUNTRIES IF THEY DON'T TAKE THE QURAN LITERALLY?

  • For all those - Cysko, I'm looking at you - who are saying "I'd respect Islam more if they spoke out about ISIS"

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/24/muslim-scholars-islamic-state_n_5878038.html

I'm sure some are allergic to following a huffington post link (I jest, people are just lazy) so here's the first several paragraphs.

WASHINGTON (RNS) More than 120 Muslim scholars from around the world joined an open letter to the “fighters and followers” of the Islamic State, denouncing them as un-Islamic by using the most Islamic of terms.

Relying heavily on the Quran, the 18-page letter released Wednesday (Sept. 24) picks apart the extremist ideology of the militants who have left a wake of brutal death and destruction in their bid to establish a transnational Islamic state in Iraq and Syria.

Even translated into English, the letter will still sound alien to most Americans, said Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council of American-Islamic Relations, who released it in Washington with 10 other American Muslim religious and civil rights leaders.

“The letter is written in Arabic. It is using heavy classical religious texts and classical religious scholars that ISIS has used to mobilize young people to join its forces,” said Awad, using one of the acronyms for the group. “This letter is not meant for a liberal audience.”

Even mainstream Muslims, he said, may find it difficult to understand.

Awad said its aim is to offer a comprehensive Islamic refutation, “point-by-point,” to the philosophy of the Islamic State and the violence it has perpetrated. The letter’s authors include well-known religious and scholarly figures in the Muslim world, including Sheikh Shawqi Allam, the grand mufti of Egypt, and Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein, the mufti of Jerusalem and All Palestine.

A translated 24-point summary of the letter includes the following: “It is forbidden in Islam to torture”; “It is forbidden in Islam to attribute evil acts to God”; and “It is forbidden in Islam to declare people non-Muslims until he (or she) openly declares disbelief.”

This is not the first time Muslim leaders have joined to condemn the Islamic State. The chairman of the Central Council of Muslims in Germany, Aiman Mazyek, for example, last week told the nation’s Muslims that they should speak out against the “terrorist and murderers” who fight for the Islamic State and who have dragged Islam “through the mud.”

It goes on, and you can find a translation of the letter through that link as well.

C'mon Chris, for sure everyone of the same race/nationality/religion/etc is a clone of those in their respective groups!

  • First, chris, I never said I didn't respect islam. As usual I straddle the fence on the issue. I'm terribly terribly interested in history and thus have a pretty fair base of kknowledge of Islamic history. I've known many many very pleasant muslims specifically during my time in new york city where I frequented Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn where there was a quite large muslim community adjacent to where I worked and even though at that point I was newly out of the service we managed to be quite cordial to each other and I would frequently enter their stores, unbearded and bold and purchase goods from them.

Second: 120 scholars is a drop in the hat buddy. The middle east needs to rise up against them and destroy them not cower in fear. It's THEIR lives which are most at risk and yet they are doing a really poor job of fighting for them and abroad where isis is making gains with the disenfranchised youth the elders are doing a shit job of containing it.
